Make a bluebird trail of your own!
»
Just follow these easy steps...
Keep bluebird boxes in open rural country with scattered trees and shrubs.
Avoid areas close to buildings and places where pesticides(a chemical used to kill crop destroying insects) are used.
Place boxes near a road for easy monitoring but not to close because of the loud noise of cars or the danger of the car running into them.
You must visit the boxes 4-6 times a year with tools for repairs needed on the boxes.
Boxes should be placed in pair 15-30 feet apart and 200-300 feet between the pairs this will allow two different species to nest in the same location.
Face boxes away from the direction the wind usually is coming from.
Face boxes towards a perching spot(ex:tree limbs, fences, shrubs, or bushes) within 100 feet of the box.
Do not place the boxes inside a pasture.
If you follow these steps, they should help you to obtain the bluebird in your location!
