I-326: Appeared as a dotted line in 1978 or 1979 as a new freeway between I-26 near Cayce and SC 48 southeast of Columbia.
The 1982 Official Map extends the dotted line east to US 76-378 but labels the extension as SC 77. By 1985, the Official Map labels none of the dotted line segments. When the freeway from I-26 to SC 48 was completed in the late 1980's, it was labeled as "TO SC 48", then later TEMP SC 478, and finally is today's I-77 AASHTO documents referred to this freeway as I-326 until I-77 was officially placed on it. |
