Daniel Louis Rodriguez, Port Jervis, NY

Daniel Louis Rodriguez of Port Jervis, a junior at Port Jervis High School and lifetime resident of the area, died Wednesday, May 10, 2000, at home. He was 17.

The son of Louis M. and Estrella Rivera Rodriguez, he was born Jan. 7, 1983, in Goshen.

He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Port Jervis, where he was an usher and was active in the Youth Connection; he played several musical instruments and was in the School Stage and Concert Bands where he played the guitar and trumpet.

He was recently an actor in the high school play, where he played a gangster in "Guys & Dolls."

A family statement read, "He was loved by all who knew him. He will be missed, but he will live on in our hearts as music lived in his."

Survivors include his parents, Louis J. and Estrella Rodriguez, at home; one brother, Stephen E. Rodriguez, at home; paternal grandmother, Maria Alicza of Puerto Rico; maternal grandmother, Carmen Rivera of New City; also aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, May 12, at Gray-Parker Funeral Home, 100 Eastern Main Street, Port Jervis.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, May 13, at First Presbyterian Church, 8 North Broome Street, Port Jervis, The Rev. Richard K. Avery will officiate.

Burial will be in Laurel Grove Cemetary in Port Jervis.

Funeral arrengements were made by Gray-Parker Funeral Home, Port Jervis.
