How Do You Tell A Friend?

How do you tell a friend,
That you care;
And that you will,
Always be there.

How do you tell them,
After they're gone;
That when they're down, you'll be there,
With a poem or a song.

It's very hard to tell a friend,
Once they've moved on;
It's very hard to let go, When your time with them has gone.

But I know that in my heart,
My friend's care still glows;
And I know I didn't have to tell him,
Because he already knows.
