PR On-Air Statistics

Here's a page for all the numbers geeks out there. Thanks to the invaluable information contained in the pages of John Green's GrnRngr.com Web site (if you haven't checked it out recently, it's now even more awesome than you remember), Scott Oldeman's meticulous research on all things Fox Kids, the initial WOFK reports of one Jesse Lee Herndon (a k a SirStack) and records I've kept since PR's debut on ABC Family, I have some stats of PR's history on U.S. television. The counts include all 30-minute time slots, including specials. (Movies not included - but specials about movies are [go figure] ). Hope something here strikes your fancy.

And, for the record, I DO NOT count the reversioned episodes of MMPR that were shown on ABC Kids in 2010 as a separate season and they don't add to the episode total which was 906 at the time we hit the hiatus of the second season of Beast Morphers in 2020. They're just a "redheaded stepchild" extension of the overall MMPR count.

60-minute specials count as one episode (because it's only been shown as a single episode on Nickelodeon in the U.S., and domestic airings is what I go by) but two time slots in counts below. Also, as I go through my UPRS work, I'll find airings of other 'specials' (bloopers, behind-the-scenes, etc.) that WILL count as a time slot but NOT as an episode, which will widen the gap between the numbers. That's why the counts you find here will probably be different than John's or Scott's or anyone else's. We all have to decide on our own criteria for how to count things.

And, in regards to the 75-minute extended PRSM finale, I'm making things simple on myself and counting that as two time slots and two episodes. It's extra footage from both "The Wrath" and "Legendary Battle," two episodes that already existed. I AM NOT going into fractions of slots/eps!

TIME SLOT PACE FOR 2021
PROJECTED TOTAL FOR 2021

The 'time slot pace' is simply the daily average multiplied by 365 (or, in leap years, 366). 'Projected total' reflects what the total would be on Dec. 31 if they continue with the current general schedule. (The general schedule is subject to frequent changes -- and there could be bonus slots added to the schedule.) As of the date shown above, the general schedule reached its FINAL version with Saturday debuts on Nick (& the Sunday encore), three Friday Nicktoons reruns and two more on Saturdays, at total of 9 slots per week, which is an average of a little more than 1.25 per day.

When I made the update of the January 2021 numbers, I noted that Tuesday, Jan. 12, 2021, was the TEN-THOUSANDTH day of the Power Rangers era, which started (as you all should know) on 8/28/1993. Also, I check my monthly count against John Green's and, in looking at the remaining months of 2021, the January count of 46 time slots is the high-water mark for the year.

March 2020 note: It was during this month that the entire world basically shut down in response to the global COVID-19 pandemic. That meant kids weren't going to school. They were at home and Nickelodeon reacted by totally revamping the weekday schedules and basically scrubbing PR from its lineup. That's why the projected total is going to be in constant flux for the rest of the year. They do A LOT of overhauls of the schedule, but never land on anything they wanted to stay with.
