The Saints

There are holy orders for each saint, who emulate them and carry on their work.

Each saint has a day named after them, it was their birthday.

A saint is someone who is very good for their whole life, and also was the focus of a miracle.

Saint Milorifson - Spent a whole year feasting on nothing but prayers and meditation. When a group he was traveling with was attacked by an owlbear, he stayed and let himself be devoured so that the others could escape. As he was eaten, he was never heard to cry out. He is the saint of self discipline and meditation.

Saints Drendudina the Elf and Vlorfkin the Dwarf - During the racial rioting of 2344 in Lintoli, Vlorfkin saved Drendudina from a mob. They were married in secret in the night, in a burnt out temple by a halfing cleric. They spoke out against the rioting, at risk of their own lives, and afterwards lived a long happy life together having many elf/dwarf children who became known as The Children of Gold. They both died in their sleep in advanced old age, and were buried side by side in a glade in the lintoli forest. The glade since then became preternaturally silent and beautiful, and many come here to meditate, especially golden children. These saints are the saints of true love.

Saint Glomathas the Half Elf - Glomathas was an especially devout farmer, when the the black drought struck his village for 11 years his fields produced enough food for all. He is the saint of plants and life.

Saint Lapenal - During the red plague, when everyone else was sweating blood, he sweat drops of a golden liquid. All who touched it were healed. He is the saint of health and medicine.

Saint Wurgis the Halfing - During the lifewar, Wurgis was a cleric serving in the cause of good. An evil army caused fire to rain down on Wurgis and his comrades in their fortress, but the flames struck only Wurgus, causing him to blossom with a holy flame. He walked out among the enemy and all the evil ones who saw his flame died. Wurgis was unharmed. He is the saint of holy warriors in the cause of good.

Saint Borolat the Gnome - When the dam protecting his village was about to burst, he lay in front of it and when it burst the water would not pass him. He lay there until the waters subsided, and that river never flooded again. He is the saint of weather.

Saint Loressa - Loressa was born in the nasty city of Ora. She was born in a debtors prison and was sold as a slave very early on. While all around her were concerned with survival of the fittest and personal gain, she was devoted to good. She had the gift of public speaking and reasoning, and soon convinced her fellow slaves of the cause of good. Soon she had even convinced her owner and his family that they were leading bad lives. Eventually they and many others Loressa had converted abandoned their wealth and defected to Lintoli just in time to warn them of an invasion from Ora. She is the saint of the poor and of public speaking.
