He was the last of his kind, the last feeder of Vaal. Vaal was dead, killed by a stranger named Kirk. After his dead, they had children for the first time of their live, then, they got sick, tired, older, and dead. After that, Akuta lived for a very long time. He saw his friends die, then, their own children got older and died, then, they grand children followed then. Akuta was living for four generations.

When the demon Kirk was preventing them from feeding Vaal - how called he Vaal? A computer? - Vaal bless Akuta a last time before he died. He made Akuta live for a long time and he gave him a mission.

A child entered in his shed. Akuta knows him well, Yokamo is Sayana's grand grand son. She died after she gave birth to her first child. Kirk never mentioned that having children could be fatal.

Yokamo likes to ask question and to hear stories about old times. He is very attentive and curious.

- Akuta. Is that true that you are the oldest man in the village?

- That's right. I am the only one who knew the time of Vaal.

- Dad says that Vaal is just a tale.

- Look at my antennas. These are a gift from Vaal. With it, I was his voice and his eyes.

- Was he talking to you? How?

- I could heard his voice in my head.

- Mom says that you're just a crazy old man.

When Kirk explained them what was children, he forgot to mention how annoying they was.

- And you, what do you think?

- I don't know. It may be fun to feed Vaal.

- It was good. We were never sick, never old. Vaal placed the fruit on the trees when we were hungry. We did not have to work.

- What were you doing all the time?

- We usually fed Vaal and wait to feed him.

- Sound boring.

- Yes, you right, that was boring, but you never suffer where you are bored.

- I have to go.

At last, the boy left him alone.

Akuta began to think. He though that he was ready. His time has come. He has to fulfil the mission Vaal gave him a long time ago. Akuta remembers well that time. Kirk and the others kept him and his people in their shed to prevent them from feeding Vaal.

He remember the fear, the pain when he hears Vaal call them again and again.

In the darkness of the night, Akuta left the village. He felt the pain of age weakening his body. He waited to long. He was ready for Vaal a long time ago. At the beginning, he couldn't say why he did not complete the mission, but now he knows.

Before Vaal's dead, the people was innocent and happy. Every day was the same, and every day was perfect. After God's dead, the feeders of Vaal discovered suffering. But, they also discovered the diversity of life. Things were always changing and that was something Akuta did not want to loose.

Despite the fact his God gave him this very important mission, Akuta hesitated for a long time. But now, the life was slowly leaving his body. Time was running out. So, he decides to serve Vaal for the last time.

Akuta could never forget were was the mouth of Vaal. He was feeding the God by this big hole. At the time, it really looked like a serpent's head. Now, it was just like a cave entrance. No one ever entered inside it before. At the time, Vaal prohibited that. Now, they just feared to fall in the abyss.

While, he was blessing him, Vaal grant him all the knowledge he needs to fulfil his mission. Akuta could not even understand those strange things that Vaal had put in his head. But that was irrelevant. Vaal needs only his arms and his legs.

So, Akuta passed along the hole to get to the other side. He pulled a big stone. Behind it, he found a picture of a sun. He pushed the sun twice quickly and hold it the third. He heard a big "clunk". A series of small holes appear along the hole: a stairway. Akuta looked down. It was leading very deep under the ground. May his old legs and arms be strong enough to support him. When he arrived, he was surprise to have succeed. His arms and legs were so heavy that he nearly crawled inside the structure.

The first time he gets there, everything were buried behind ashes. That was the result of what the Kirk did. It took time to clean it. After that, Akuta did a lot of strange works. He had no idea of what he was doing. Vaal put in his head everything he needs to know, but no explanation about the signification of what he was doing. It took years to assemble this strange monument, a kind of obelisk.

At last, it was ready. As Vaal asked him a long time ago, he pushes a couple of button to complete the mission.

The monument began to shake. Akuta heard a deep and continuous rumbling. That frightened the old man until he noticed that he did exactly what Vaal had ask him. So, it was suppose to happen.

At the monument's foundation, he saws many flames grows suddenly. The air was so hot that he could not breath. His skin was burning. The pain was taking over his buddy. He could smell the odour of meat, but he was the unfortunate prey, and he was still alive, for now. The monument began to go up slowly, surround by the flame. Akuta could see him pass thought the mouth of Vaal, leaving him behind.

Vaal never says him that he would die in the attempt, but that does not matter. Akuta knew that he succeeds. For the last time, he served Vaal again and served him well. He did not know was that monument was suppose to do and he would never know.

Vaal felt his forces declined. He rang and rang his people again, but no one get him foods. Kirk and the other strangers was preventing them to feed him. He was trying for hours to make crash their starship, but that drained his power and he needs energy in other to destroy the strangers. They was dangerous.

For thousand year, his people created him to make him rules the planet. They need him to rules the weather, put fruits on trees and protect them from invaders. They did not want to be worry about that. They wanted happiness and peaceful life. With time, Vaal realised that everything made them sad. So he banned technologies, sciences, families, works. He reduced the population to minimum and maintained them in innocence. So, they were happy, before Kirk challenged this way of life. And, before it get worse, he had to destroy the strangers.

But Kirk was winning and Vaal was dying.

So, he gave to Akuta the information he needs to build a rockets and put in orbit his blue print and memories. The nanites inside Akuta's body would make him live long enough to build the rocket.

He knows that without him, his feeders' descendants will evolve again, as they did before. One day, they will travel trough space. This day, they will find this satellite orbiting their planet. They will translate the blue prints, rebuild him and feed him again.

This day, they will discover happiness again.
