Sendero Mustangs Varsity Basketball
Sendero Christian Academy is located at 5408 Daughtry Dr, on the Northwest side of San
Antonio, TX. This is our Men's Varsity basketball team web page. Sendero Christian
Academy is in its third year, operated on the grounds of El Sendero Assembly of God Church.
The Pastor is Mr. Raul Garcia, Mr. Robert Lara is the School Superintendent, and Mr. Jack
Autry is the Athletic Director. The coach for the Varsity team is a volunteer, Mr. Michael
Wersonske. We are a young team, of our 16 Players; we have six juniors, four sophomores
and six freshmen. We have 5 returning players from last year's squad. Three year's ago the
team was 0-32, last year we were 19-17. The guys have been working very hard to improve
on last years record, and have set some lofty goals that they plan on achieving.

11/12/1999 - First Varsity victory in school history vs. Lutheran High School 64-54
11/12/1999 - Most points scored in one game, 64 vs Lutheran High School
11/25/1999 - First appearance in State Top 20 rankings - #20 TCAL 2A
12/07/1999 - Most points scored in one game, 82 vs Rainbow Hills Christian School
01/20/2000 - First time to reach 10 victories in a season in school history
01/22/2000 - Most points scored in one game, 85 vs Alamo City Christian School
01/22/2000 - First Tournament Championship in school history, New Life Tournament
01/24/2000 - Most points scored in one game, 87 vs Blessed Sacrament
01/28/2000 - Highest State ranking to date, #19 TCAL 2A
02/12/2000 - Second place in Rainbow Hills Tournament
02/18/2000 - Most Wins in a season, 19

11/11/2000 - Fourth place in Keystone Tournament
11/28/2000 - First District win in School History vs. Rainbow Hills 61-51
12/02/2000 - Consolation Champions in the New Life Tournament
12/08/2000 - Second straight season to reach 10 victories
01/12/2001 - Offically clinch birth in State playoffs with victory over Destiny 64-34 with
district record of 6-1
01/23/2001 - Most points scored in one game, 90 vs Sonrise Christian
01/26/2001 - First time to reach 10 District victories in a season in school history
01/30/2001 - Co-District Champions with Gateway at 11-1, with win over Gateway 54 - 43
02/03/2001 - Thrid place in the New Life JV Tournament
02/03/2001 - First time to be #1 seed in state playoffs with victory over Gateway in district
tie breaker game 61-59
02/03/2001 - Most district wins in a season at 12 and best over-all district record in school
history at 12-1
