SPECIES SPECIFIC INFO
The name Sailfin Corydoras refers to the unusually large dorsal fin on this fish's back when it is young. It is the oldest member of the Catfish to be important for the fish hobbybist in that it was the first one to be important (around the late 1930s in Europe).
It is a really good fish for the aqaurium being both active and strikingly coloured. The emerald catfish is an accurate description for this fish as it's body plates reflect emerald under lights. It is tolerant to other fish and requires sections of thick vegetation and of course open swimming areas.
Males are distinguished from females by being slightly thinner and possessing a slightly more rounded snout profile.
