Approach the curb/obstacle with a fair amount of pace and have the front foot on the nose and the back foot on the tail or if your comfortable in ollie postion.
You may want to come at a 45 degree angle to get use to it and make your way up to coming parralel to the curb either way.
Now you either have a choice you can either pop a small ollie and turn 90 degrees onto the curb or you can kick turn onto the curb.
Whichever way you do it you must apply pressure to the nose and lean back a little in order to slide.
To come of you can either do a little ollie off or just kickturn off into fackie or regular.
This trick will only work if you have the confidence to slide and stay with the board.
Its a relatively safe trick when doing on small stuff but be carefull cus i busted by knee on it the other day on a ledge .
