Paintless Dent Repair is the process of removing minor dents and dings by massaging the metal back to its factory finish. PDR was first developed on the Mercedes Benz factory lines in the late 1940's as an innovative way to repair dents and dings on automobile production lines. PDR was then tweaked and introduced to the general market in the early 1980's. After a few entrepreneurs took hold of the process word soon spread of the "magical process" and PDR Technicians began sprouting up across the globe. In the 1990's more technicians came into the market, and soon thereafter, better tools were developed to accomodate the increase in EPA/DPT regulations for side impact bracing in autos.
Later, it became a more effective, less expensive method for removing small dings and dents from cars made with a thinner grade of sheet metal. Today, the process has evolved into an industry. Now, specially trained technicians utilize state-of-the-art tools to reach dings and dents on any vehicle.
