The Lady AZ Silver Streaks captured the championship trophy at the 2003 Genies Jamboree! with a thrilling triple overtime, 34-32 victory over the Arizona Thunder. Trailing by as many as nine points in the second half, the Silver Streaks came back to forge a late-game lead, only to see the Thunder force the first overtime with clutch play at the end of regulation. Both teams had chances to win in the extra periods, before the Thunder's last-chance three-pointer rimmed out with just seconds remaining. The Silver Streaks had advanced to the championship game by beating the Glendale Rim Rockers and the DFAC Falcons. The Thunder had defeated the Arizona Sting and the host Gilbert Genies in earlier competition. Third place honors went to the Falcons who defeated the Genies and fourth place went to the Rim Rockers who defeated the Sting. An eight-girl All-Tournament team was selected by the coaches and consisted of Paige Ramm (Thunder), Nicole Jacobs (Phenoms), Caitlin LaBenz (Sting), Maylinn Smith (Genies), Morgan Wohltman (Silver Streaks), Nicole Farrell (Falcons), Tamara Leo (Rim Rockers) and Alysia McGir (Rez Ballers). Caitlin LaBenz and Sting Coach Melissa Monsegur also captured three-point shooting contests held at Saturday's intermission.
