#6 Antelope Valley's trio of giants proved too strong for underdog LA Harbor in the championship of the Condor Classic at Oxnard. Centers Brandon Murray and Jonathan Holland each hit 6 of 7 shots, and PF Trae Fortier did just about everything else to lead the Marauders to a 68-56 win.
Murray finished with a game-high 17 pts and added 5 rebs. Holland, the 6-9, 295 lb backup, scored 13 pts and added 3 rebs in limited minutes. Fortier had just 8 pts, but was a huge presence with team-bests of 6 rebs, 4 asts and 5 steals. He had 2 steals and dunks in the final minutes to help clinch the victory. AVC also got a strong game from reserve SG Kerry Yates (11 pts, 5 rebs, 4 asts) and PG Mike Webb (12 pts). Webb was named the tourney MVP, while Murray made the all-tournament team.
Harbor, a surprise finalist after defeating the Sequoias and Mt. SAC, was let by reserve SG Jeffrey Arnold's 11 pts. SF Jeff Kalama added 10 pts plus 6 rebs. SF Lynn Grayson had 8 pts and 6 rebs for the Seahawks, who kept the game close into the final 3 minutes.
