Oxnard 80, Saddleback 72

Jeremiah Massey scored 27 pts and grabbed 19 rebs to lead Oxnard to the championship of the Santa Barbara Tourney with an 80-72 win over Saddleback Friday Night. Massey was named Tourney MVP for his efforts.

The game had been scheduled as a semifinal, but became the Championship match after both teams in the other semifinal were disqualified from the tournament over an altercation in that game's closing seconds. Now the only game scheduled for tomorrow (12/14) is the consolation final, featuring Allan Hancock vs. Santa Barbara, which will be at 3 pm.

In the Oxnard victory, SF Paul Guerrero scored 11 of his 13 pts in the second half. SG Erik Webb finished with 14 pts while PF Kerwin Forges added 13. Forges joined Massey on the all-tournament team.

Saddleback, which falls to 8-4 on the season, was led by PF Marques Crane's 15 pts and 9 rebs. Ctr Andre Hardwick had 12 pts and 10 rebs but fouled out with 5:52 remaining, largely the result of having to guard Massey all night.
