#14 Chaffey (6-0) got a balanced effort and used that total team effort to hold off Santa Ana (5-3), 71-68, in the first semifinal of the Citrus Tourney in Glendora. Nine different Panthers scored and nine different Panthers registered steals, plus five different Panthers knocked down 3-point shots in the win. Chaffey overcame the loss of Ctr Lionel Davis, who had team-highs of 16 pts and 9 rebs but fouled out with 4:09 left and the game still very much in doubt. SG Corey Starks had 3 threes and 11 pts on the day, including 2 FTs that helped seal the win for Chaffey. 3rd guard Jason Harris had 13 pts including a pair of spectacular alley-oop dunks. Santa Ana got outstanding games from SF Drew Fowler (23 pts, 6 rebs) and SG Harvey Watson (21 pts) in the loss. A potential game-tying three at the buzzer by Watson bounced off the rim.
