Neigh School - Lateral Movements

Turn on the Forehand
Turn on the forehand is one of the most basic lateral movements first taught to horse and rider.

The horse should keep his shoulders still and move his hind legs round so that he is pivoting on his forehand

The rider needs to ask the horse to move away from the leg in the desired direction whilst maintaining a contact on the reins to prevent the horse moving forwards or backwards.
