CHIQUILICHE

Our visit to Chiquiliche Cave begins at the Concentro Parking Lot where everyone is raring to go except...
What? Claudio Chilometer is STILL splashing around in that river?
At last we are on our way to the cave, conveniently located just outside Chiquilistlán, alongside this super highway.
THE SLOT leads to the entrances of three passages.
One passage has a 32-meter-high ceiling and plenty of flowstone.
Roberto Barrero joins us from above... alas, using a rope merely 30 meters long!
...but that's not a problem if you've got Hercules Rojas around to save the day.
After rescuing Roberto, we get down to the serious business: photographing soda straws by LED light.
After all the excitement, Roberto decides to take it easy and scratch his toes.
While everyone else is taking pictures, Rojas gets his hair done. "I'd better take care of it while I still have it," he says.
JESÚS SAVES our knapsacks on the way out.
Hunger pangs attack Roberto. "Throw me down some fettucini," he shouts.
Rojas succeeds in climbing out under the sight of Susy Pint
Giant chicky (after which this cave is named) comes back out of hiding and breathes sigh of relief: "I hope I don't see those weirdos again for another three years!"
