Your time on earth was short, my sweetest baby Shawn.
As quickly as you arrived, your beloved soul was gone.
I held you close soon after the moment of your birth.
And on that memory of feeling you, I cannot place a worth.
I would loved to have heard your first cry, special in its own way.
But God above had different plans, for you my angel that day.
He sent the angels to come for you, and take you to Heaven above.
And as you left that day, you took my heart with you my love.
I still remember your sweet face, of that memory I've grown fond.
You touched my soul that day and we formed a special bond.
A bond that can't be broken, even though we're apart.
We'll be together again someday Shawn, forever heart to heart.
