The Picture
(Authors Note: This story takes place when Derek took over Ben's life once
again, but the meg in the story is not Sydney Penny it's Susan Ward and the
picture Ben has is w/ Susan Ward as well)
Part 1
Ben sat in the empty room wondering, What had happened to him and his life?
How could he have let Derek capture him, and take over his life once again?
These thoughts entered his mind daily, in fact it's was the top thought that
entered his mind every day. He woke up with this thought and if possible fell
asleep with this thought. He started to pull and tug at the chains that were
wrapped around his ankles and wrists for about the hundredth time, but just
like every other time the chains wouldn't budge. He was very weak, he hadn't
been fed anything but bread crumbs and been given small glasses of water to
drink. To top it all off Derek had hired one of his little friends to come
give Ben a few punches and kicks every now and again. He began to think how
easy it would be to just let go, he could end his life and not ever have to
worry about Derek or anyone ever again, but then he saw it ... the picture.
The one thing that kept him going. It was a picture of him and Meg, they
were standing outside Ben's house on the balcony. He had his arms wrapped
around her waist and her hands lay on top of his. They both had huge grins on
their faces, and it was easy to tell why, this particular picture had been
taken 2 days after Ben and Megs reunion at the "Casita" as Ben called it.
They looked so happy. Ben stared at the picture, but was no longer staring at
himself but just at her, her arms, her legs, and of course her perfect face.
He started with the eyes, those beautiful blue eyes, the eyes that said
everything. He could stare aimlessly into those eyes for hours and never get
bored. Next he looked at her cute little nose, it was round and Ben couldn't
help but think about all the times it would scrunch up when he would tickle
her endlessly. Ben finally stopped at Meg's smile,
"Oh God that smile"
he said to himself. The smile that was so big, bright, and beautiful. He
loved Megs smile, it was one of her very best features. The best part of her
smile in this picture though was that he had made her smile. He loved making
her smile, he would do anything in this world to make Meg smile like that.
Ben then realized that he had to get out of here, and make things right with
Meg again, he just had to. So once again Ben started the tedious task of
rattling the chains that kept him from the woman he loved more than life
itself.
Part 2
Meg was looking forward to having the weekend off she really needed it. With
everything that had been going on with Ben and Maria getting back together
and Tim dieing it was all just to much. Sara had gone on a 2 week cruise with
Casey and her parents were back in Kansas looking into maybe buying the farm
back. She would have Surf Central to herself and was determined to have a
relaxing weekend.
She was closing up the shop when as if by magic she stumbled upon a box that
she hadn't seen since her and Sara had been painting the shop weeks ago. She
thought little of it and began to riffle through the box. She found some old
letters, paint brushes, keys, and then she saw it .....The Picture
Meg hadn't seen this picture in so long, not since before Benjy's kidnapping.
It was the one of her and Ben on the balcony at Ben's house. It was the one
taken right after they reunited. She felt like that was an eternity ago. So
much had happened since then, so many things had gone wrong. Ben had changed
drastically. Meg stared at Ben, Oh how she loved that face. His mysterious
eyes, his distinguished nose, and of course his smile. That smile that could
make any woman in her right mind stop dead in her tracks. Meg couldn't help
but think about all the times she had made Ben smile, she had never quite
understood it. How could she "Ms. Kansas " ever interest an intelligent,
cultured, millionaire like Ben Evans? She had never figured out the answer.
Meg suddenly felt very strange, she couldn't explain it, but all of a sudden
she had this sudden urge to see Ben. It was their connection that they
shared. Whenever he or she was in need they could always somehow get through
to one another. She knew she shouldn't go over to Ben's he was probably with
Maria and Benjy right now. But she decided against her will and headed
straight for Ben's.
Ben's House
Meg approached the house slowly, and saw the side door open.
MEG: "That's strange, Ben's always very persistent about keeping all the
doors locked"
Then she heard Tess's voice, she was on the phone with someone, Meg knew she
shouldn't but couldn't help but listen.
TESS: " I know that we have to hurry, don't worry Benjy is at a friends
house and we can finally move forward with our plans tonight. Yes, yes, I
have the passports and everything else we need, oh finally everything is
coming together. I can't wait to be with you and our son, our son Benjy"
Meg couldn't believe what she was hearing. Was that Ben on the phone? and if
not who was it? She strained to hear Tess's voice.
TESS: " I'll be there shortly .( PAUSE) I love you too Derek"
With that she hung up the phone.
Meg didn't know what to think but suddenly it all made sense. That's why Ben
had been acting so strangely lately, because it wasn't Ben, it was Derek.
Derek had done it once again he had taken Ben hostage and had been
impersonating him. Tess and Derek were Benjy's parents not Maria and Ben. But
how could that be? they had a paternity test done, but once again it all made
sense. Ben and Derek were identical twins they had the same DNA. How could
Derek have fooled her again? And didn't he fall off that cliff 2 years ago?
No one could survive that fall. But then again she was talking about Derek,
he seemed to be capable of anything, except being human. Deep in thought Meg
didn't realize that her hand had been resting on the handle of the door. She
suddenly slipped, and plopped into the house with a thud.
TESS: "What are you doing here"
she screamed. Meg had a frightened look on her face, and Tess realized that
Meg had heard her conversation with Derek on the phone.
TESS: "Well I guess you know the secret huh Meg? Well, now I guess I'll just
have to take you to the house with the rest of them"
Tess pulled out a gun pointed it at Meg and made her follow her out into the
car. They drove away into the night.
Part 3
Derek was not aware that Tess had captured Meg, but he decided to take Maria
downstairs where Ben was being held while he waited for Tess. He walked her
down the stairs, and she went straight to Ben.
MARIA: "Oh Ben your alive! Thank God your alive! I was so worried about you."
Derek tied her up to the pole opposite of Ben so they were looking at each
other from across the tiny basement. He then walked upstairs and slammed the
door, and locked it.
BEN:" Maria I'm so sorry Derek captured you, I didn't mean for this to
happen, Maria did he tell you about Benjy not being ours?"
MARIA: "Yes, Ben he told me. How could they do that, I mean have a baby just
so they could make us believe we were his parents, and have you put him in
your will, and then....." her voice trailed off
BEN: "Kill us "Ben finished for her
MARIA: "I didn't want to really say it but yes. How could they do that? We
were good parents to him, and If, when we get out of here I intent to keep on
raising him."
BEN: "Yes, Maria I suppose we will have to do that"
Ben loved Benjy, but now that he knew he was Derek's son it hurt him to think
of raising a child that wasn't really his, but his sick, twisted, crazy
brothers.
BEN: " Maria, did Derek capture anyone else?"
MARIA:" No I don't think so, I think it's just you and me"
Maria was glad about that. She wanted so much to be with Ben, and maybe just
maybe when all this was over he might just remember the love that they once
shared.
BEN: "Okay I was just wondering"
Ben was glad Derek hadn't involved anyone else.
Part 4
TESS: "All right get in there"
Tess pushed Meg into the house. Meg was so scared she couldn't help but think
about who else Tess and Derek had captured.
TESS:" Derek , Derek where are you? We have a Slight glitch in our plan"
Derek heard Tess screaming his name and walked into the room to see Meg.
DEREK: "Well, well, well, what do we have here? Meg did you come to play the
hero to your beloved Ben?"
MEG: "Where is he Derek? Just tell me, you know you will never get away with
this. Just like you didn't get away with it the first time."
DEREK: " Meg so sweet, heres a little hint I obviously did get away with it
if I'm here right now, anyway do you want to see Ben? Well, I guess it
doesn't matter what you want cause I'm in charge"
He grinned, grabbed Meg's arm, and pulled her to the basement door.
Meanwhile downstairs......
MARIA: "Ben what is gonna happen after all this?"
BEN: "I really don't know Maria, I really don't know"
They had been trying to break free and when they heard the door open they
immediately stopped. Tess walked downstairs first and grinned at everyone.
The Derek followed pulling Meg by the arm.
Meg saw Ben and lunged at him, she looked at him thanking god that he wasn't
dead.
MEG: "Oh Ben, oh Ben, I'm so glad your okay "she now had tears streaming down
her face.
Ben didn't want to believe it. It couldn't be, he begged the heavens above
that this was a figment of his imagination and Meg wasn't really here. He had
to admit he was so happy to see her face and feel her touch but the bigger
part of him didn't want her there. He didn't want Meg anywhere near Derek or
Tess or this entire situation, because it put her life in danger. The thought
of anything ever happening to her was more than he could handle. He wanted
her to be safe at home. He stared at her and finally spoke.
BEN:" Oh Meg what are you doing here? "
DEREK: "You know what you can all share your little stories later. Right now
there's work to be done"
He grabbed Meg from Ben, and tied her to the pole in the corner so she could
see both Maria and Ben.
BEN: "Just what is this business?"
DEREK: "Oh Tess and I have to go over some papers, and make sure our
passports to Europe are ready. So we can fly there just as soon as we kill
all of you, but not before picking up Benjy, our son"
Derek gloated staring at Ben
DEREK: " Tess, go get the papers and stuff, and I'll join you upstairs to go
over them. We have to make sure Benjy is in the will, and his mother is
listed as the holder of the money until he's eighteen years old. His mother
being Tess of course"
This time he grinned at Maria
They both went upstairs leaving Ben with Meg, and Maria both looking at him
for answers
MARIA :"What are we gonna do?"
BEN:" I'll think of something. Maria you keep trying to get your ropes undone"
He stared at Meg, she looked so beautiful. He hadn't seen her in so long. He
now had to find a way out of here, he had to get Meg out of here safely.
A long time had passed and everyone was working silently on getting their
ropes untied. Finally Maria's came undone.
MARIA:" Ben I got it "
She jumped up and ran straight to Ben. She untied his ropes and hugged him.
He gave her a quick hug but it wasn't very sincere. He ran over to Meg with a
very concerned look on his face. She hadn't said anything since Derek left
and he wanted to say so many things, but couldn't because he was afraid it
might hurt Maria's feelings. He knelt down beside her and reached for her
ankles, he slowly untied the rope. He then moved on to her hands he noticed
that her wedding ring wasn't on her finger, he knew that they weren't legally
married but in his heart they were. He still had his on. When he was finished
he helped her up and she dusted herself off.
BEN: "Lets get out of here!"
They all ran for the stairs but right as they reached the staircase Derek
came strolling down. Ben went to punch him but Derek caught his hand and they
both fell to the floor, they started to struggle. Tess was standing by the
staircase and suddenly Maria plunged at her.
Maria and Tess both ran upstairs hitting, punching and kicking one another.
Meanwhile downstairs Ben and Derek were struggling on the floor while a
helpless Meg looked on. Derek hit Ben twice, and then out of nowhere pulled
out a knife. He tried to put in into to Ben's chest but missed, and it
skimmed his shoulder. The knife pierced through Ben's shoulder, and he
suddenly felt woozy and fell unconscious. Meg screamed.
MEG:" BEN, OH GOD BEN"
She ran towards him. She knelt down and put his head in her lap, she rocked
him back and forth, and looked lovingly at his face.
MEG: "Oh Ben come on, you have to be okay. Ben answer me please"
Maria was upstairs when she heard Meg scream. She knew it was probably Ben.
She punched Tess with all of her strength and luckily knocked her out, she
ran downstairs. She found Meg cradling a bleeding Ben.
MARIA: "OH MY GOD! What happened? Ben can you hear me?"
She knelt down beside Meg with fear in her eyes.
MEG: "Ben please can you hear us? Ben answer us, I....we need you, you can't
go anywhere. Ben please"
Meg now had tears streaming down her face. She couldn't lose him, she just
couldn't, he was her life. Derek looked at the women throwing themselves at
Ben like he was God or something. He let them be near to him, because he
honestly thought he might have killed him. He now had to figure out what to
do with Maria and Meg.
Ben started to moan and move his body in Meg's arms.
BEN: "Meg, Meg are you there, Meg?"
MEG: "Yes Ben I'm right here. Oh thank God you are okay. I thought I had lost
you for a minute"
BEN: "Did you honestly think I would leave this world that easily?
He smiled in spite of the pain his shoulder was feeling.
DEREK: (looking stunned) " Well looks like you've used up another one of your
nine lives huh Ben?"
Ben slowly got up. He couldn't fight Derek his shoulder hurt to much.
BEN: "Just let them go. They didn't do anything to you Derek! Just let them
go NOW!!!!!!! "
DEREK: " Sorry no can do. "
He grabbed Meg, and pushed Maria aside. He knew this was the only thing that
he could do to truly hurt Ben. He grabbed his gun, and started to slowly
trace Meg's body with it.
BEN: "Let her go Derek !"
DEREK: "Brother dear I finally realize how to hurt you the most. I mean I
still intend on killing you, but first I am gonna make you watch the one
thing you love more than anything on this earth come to a long, painful,
grueling death"
Meg looked terrified as Derek stroked the gun along her jawbone and down her
neck, stopping at her ribcage.
BEN: "Just let her go Derek, please I will do anything, please let her go "
The panic and fear was now coming known in Ben's voice
BEN: "I promise I will let you have all my money or better yet I'll take her
place just let her go please. PLEASE, DEREK PLEASE"
Derek took one look at Ben and then at Meg and with that he pulled the
trigger.
BEN: "NOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
The gun shout out a bang. Meg's limp body fell to the ground, Maria
screamed, and Ben's face just went blank, Derek just laughed.
MARIA: "Oh my god, Ben is she okay?"
Maria couldn't believe Derek had really shot Meg.
DEREK: "Bet you thought I would never do that huh? Well, Ben the truth is I
didn't intend to hurt Meg, but she just had to show up and try to play hero
to you. Well, I guess it's your fault then Ben. I mean if she hadn't come to
save you maybe she would still be alive"
He smirked, knowing that he had gotten to Ben.
Ben felt a blind rage. At that very moment he felt a hatred that he had
never felt for anyone in his whole life. He lunged on to Derek. He couldn't
even feel the pain of his shoulder for the anger inside of him was so much
stronger. They started to fight once again on the ground. Maria was standing
near the wall, praying that Ben didn't get hurt again. Ben finally got on top
of Derek and punched him four times in the face. Derek was knocked
unconscious, Ben picked up the gun that Derek had just used on Meg. It had
fallen when he and Derek had began to fight. Without any second thought
began to point it at Derek, just then Derek began to come to. He finally
opened his eyes to see Ben pointing the gun at his chest.
DEREK: "Ben wait, please, we can work something out. Wait a second what am I
saying? You won't kill me, you could never kill anyone, you don't have the
guts"
BEN: "No on normal circumstances I couldn't kill someone, but the second
you pulled this trigger on Meg that all changed. Anyway I'm not gonna kill
you, I'm gonna hold this gun on you until the ambulance gets here and I can
show them what you did to my Meg, my perfect Meg. So help you god if she
doesn't make it through this okay, I swear I will kill you. Maria go find a
phone and call an ambulance now!"
Maria did as she was told. She had never seen Ben this angry before. She
would do anything he said at that moment, if she didn't God only knows what
he would do.
DEREK: " Ben, look at yourself about to turn in your own brother over some
woman, you are so pathetic! "
BEN: " I hate you, and I should pull this trigger right now. I don't want to
ever see you or think about you again"
DEREK: " So why don't you? Ben, why don't you just end, it right here right
now?"
BEN: "Because Derek, I want to make sure I see the police put you behind bars
once and for all. I want to know that you can never hurt anyone ever again.
You seem to always escape death"
Derek knew he would go to jail if the ambulance arrived soon. He lunged on
Ben, and they started to wrestle on the floor. Suddenly the gun went off,
Derek had been shot. His body stopped moving as he lay atop Ben. Ben pushed
him off, and looked at him. He's finally gone he thought, finally.
Ben rushed over to Meg, and fell beside her. He picked up the limp body and
cradled it in his arms. He rocked her back and forth.
BEN: "Oh my god no, oh my god no, please, Meg look at me, look at me Meg.
Open your eyes, Open them Meg. You are gonna be okay, you are gonna be okay,
I promise I'm not gonna let you die I won't, I can't and I wont."
Part 5
The ambulance arrived and Maria told them what happened. They called for
backup and arrested Tess. They took Meg's body into the ambulance, and hooked
her up to all sorts of machines to see if there was anything they could do to
make her survive the gunshot wound. Ben insisted that he ride in the
ambulance, but they wouldn't let him. One of the police officers offered to
give them a ride to the hospital. Ben and Maria got in the car, and the
officer drove away.
The Hospital
Ben rushed into the ER room where the front desk was.
BEN:" Excuse me ,Excuse me I need to see the woman that was brought in here a
few minutes ago her name is Meg, she was ... Shot" Ben rambled on and on he
didn't know what to do he had to see Meg.
Receptionist: "Excuse me Sir but you'll have to wait over in the waiting area
I'm not allowed to give out any information, you'll have to wait for the
doctor to come out." She stared at Ben blankly
BEN: " I don't care what you think I have to do but I know that I need to see
my wife right now!"
Maria couldn't believe Ben had actually said that. Meg was not his wife, she
was. She knew Ben was worried but to say that in front of her.
RECEPTIONIST: "I'm sorry there's nothing I can do" She then got up and walked
away.
BEN: "What the bloody hell is going on here, I cant even know anything about
how she is doing" he said to no one at all.
MARIA: "Let's just go over in this area and wait Ben, I know you are worried
but Meg is in the best of care. Listen while we are here why don't we get
your shoulder checked out? It will use up some time"
BEN: "Maria I'm fine, just let it go please"
MARIA: "Ben you won't do Meg any good just standing out here, and if she does
make it out okay you are not gonna want to waste time getting checked out
when you could be with her"
They went to get Ben checked out. Meanwhile the doctors worked and worked on
Meg. She was in pretty bad shape, they did everything they could and she made
it out alive, but there was a very big possibility of her not making it
through the night.
Ben walked back into the waiting room with a sling around his shoulder, he
was very lucky the cut wasn't deep at all. His full attention was not on his
shoulder though, it was on finding out how Meg was. Finally Tyus came out of
the ER surgery room.
BEN: "Tyus how is she? How is Meg? Please tell me she is okay."
TYUS: "Meg was shot and the wound was pretty deep. Luckily we got the bullet
out and just in time. She is alive, but very weak. Right now she is
unconscious and I can't make any guarantees, Ben this is very hard for me to
say, Meg is a very dear friend to me. Ben I just don't know if she is gonna
make it, the next 24 hours are very crucial."
Tyus knew this was going to kill Ben, but he had to know.
Ben couldn't believe what he was hearing. It couldn't be true, how could Meg
be almost gone? This wasn't the way it was supposed to happen they were
supposed to be together.
BEN: "Tyus can I see her please? Please Tyus!"
TYUS: "Yes, I think that would be a very good idea, she needs familiar people
around her"
He took Ben with him leaving Maria alone in the waiting room.
Meg's Room
Ben walked in the room and saw Meg on the bed. She was hooked up to many
machines that were keeping her alive. Ben hated seeing her like this, she was
so lifeless. Even with all the machines and everything else she still looked
so beautiful to Ben.
TYUS: "Talk to her Ben, she needs to hear familiar voices, and as of now you
are the only one here. Sara and Casey are on a cruise, her parents are in
Kansas and I can't get in touch with anyone else."
BEN: "okay thanks Tyus"
Tyus left them to be alone. Ben then went and sat to a chair next to Meg's
bed. He held her hand in his, then began to speak to her.
BEN: "Oh Meg, oh Meg. Why did this happen? It should have been me not you.
Meg I need to tell you some things, I know that now might not seem
appropriate but I have to say these things. First of all I need you to know
that I am so sorry Derek did this to you. I made sure he paid for everything
he did. Now is the hard part. Meg I didn't mean to sleep with Maria, it was
all a mistake. I did it because I saw you with Casey, kissing him. I was so
hurt that I just let Maria make love to me. It didn't feel right though, it
wasn't meant to be. Meg I have to tell you something and I wish that you were
awake, but I have to tell you. I love you Meg with all of my heart. You are
my everything, I've loved you since I met you. Well, even before. I loved you
when all I knew you as was Dorothy From Kansas. I never stopped not when
Maria came back, or when Benjy came or any other time. I want to marry you,
and live a happy life with you and only you. We still have so many things to
do, I mean we have to go to Venice, and we have to take a gondola ride and we
have to have a family together. Oh Meg you want that, I know you do. But you
have to wake up first please, just wake up and let me make you happier than
you have ever been. I promise this time I won't let anything stand in our way
if you just come back to me."
Ben stared at her, she hadn't made one move or made one sound since he began
talking. All he could hear was the machines clicking and rattling. He loved
her so much, and he couldn't lose her. He then buried his head down on her
hand and began to cry.
Ben didn't normally cry, but he had never been so scared in his whole life,
never. He continued crying until he finally fell asleep with his head still
on her hands.
Maria stood outside the room looking in through the glass. Ben's back was to
her. But she could still tell he was crying she could hear him too. She had
heard everything he said to Meg. She didn't understand how Meg had captured
his heart. He had once loved her, but not like this. He never expressed his
feelings to her like he did to Meg. She now knew that any hope for them
having a relationship was gone. Ben didn't belong to her anymore. Even if Meg
did die he would mourn her forever she just knew it. Maria left the hospital
on a mission. She was going to go get some paperwork done so her and Ben
would be divorced before the night was over.
It was about Seven am the next day, and the sunlight was streaming in Megs
room. It hit Ben's face at just the right angle. Meg started to stir. She
felt very weak but she wanted to wake up and look, and talk to Ben. She had
heard every word he had said, she loved him so much and knew that his heart
belonged to her. So no matter how much it hurt she was determined to wake up.
She began to stir again this time moving her hand as well.
Ben felt this and slowly opened his eyes to see Meg's hand and body moving.
His heart almost leapt out of his chest.
MEG: "[Her voice very raspy and barely there) Ben are you there? Ben?"
BEN:" Meg, oh my God Meg your alive! Oh Meg you scared me half to death. I
thought I had lost you. Oh Meg your okay, I'm so happy. How do you feel?"
MEG: "I feel very tired and weak, but I am so glad to see you! I heard it
Ben, everything you said last night and I love you too"
BEN: "(Who now had tears in his eyes) Oh Meg I love you so much, so much. I
will never let you go, never. Please forgive me for everything, please say
that it isn't over for us and that we can have a fourth or fifth chance,
whatever number we are on. I promise to make you happy, I promise you I will."
MEG: "Oh Ben I love you so much!"
She was starting to feel very tired but tried to go on, only to be stopped by
Ben.
BEN: "SHHH, we'll talk later I promise. Right now I just want you to rest,
and get better, then we will talk.I'm gonna go get Tyus and have him examine
you"
Ben got up to leave.
MEG: "No! Ben please stay with me, don't go anywhere "
Ben could tell she was afraid to be alone and he knew why
BEN: "Don't worry Derek is gone. He is dead, this time for real, and Tess in
going to jail. They can't hurt us anymore, I promise"
He bent down and kissed her for the first time in months. It was a deep,
passionate kiss that never seemed to end. They eventually both pulled apart,
but only so they could catch their breath.
Ben found Tyus and he went to examine Meg. Meanwhile Ben saw Maria with a
folder with his name on it. He approached her.
MARIA: "How is Meg?"
BEN: "She is weak, but she finally came around and she's gonna be okay."
MARIA: "Thank God. Ben, I have something for you. I had it done last night."
She handed it to Ben who opened it and stared at the papers wide eyed. She
had given him a divorce. Finally he could marry Meg.
BEN: "Thank you Maria, I know this was hard but I really appreciate it. I
have to go back and see how she is. Thank you Maria"
MARIA: "Your welcome "
With that she left.
Back in Meg's room Ben walked in to find Meg being checked over by many
doctors, but he heard her crying
MEG: "Ben? Ben? Ben? where is Ben? I just want to see him"
She was crying pretty hard now
Ben rushed over to her side and held her hand.
BEN: "Meg it's okay, I am right here. I am not going anywhere, I am right
here, darling. Don't worry I am right here"
MEG: " Ben, I was so scared that you left and I know I am being silly, but I
need you here with me"
She settled down and stopped crying holding on to Ben very tightly.
The doctors cleared out and left them to be alone.
BEN: "Oh Meg you are not being silly. I'm sorry I shouldn't have left you
alone like that, but I have a surprise for you"
MEG: "What is it?" Meg asked excitedly
BEN: "Well, I am going to have to do a few things first, but then I will show
you. I do have to go in order for you to get the surprise though. Will you be
okay?"
MEG: "Yes, I guess as long as you promise to come back"
BEN: "I promise"
Ben got up to leave but not before giving Meg a tender kiss.
He had a lot to do. He started out by calling Joan and Hank to let them know
what was going on. They were shocked and were very worried but Ben assured
them it was gonna be okay. He told them of his surprise and they were
delighted. He then went to Surf Central and packed all of Meg's things, and
moved them to his house. He made one final stop before going back to the
Hospital.
THE HOSPITAL
Meg awaited Ben and was wondering what this surprise was. Right at that very
moment Ben walked into the room holding one single white rose.
BEN: "Hello beautiful"
MEG: "Hello ."
Ben handed Meg the rose and then a package wrapped with shiny paper and a
bow. Meg began to open it and found a bunch of legal papers inside.
MEG: "Oh Ben how romantic" Meg said sarcastically
BEN: "Well, read them and I think you will like it a little more."
Meg started to read through the papers not really getting it. She finally
came across the last page and read the last line. It read
Maria Torres-Evans and Ben Evans are herby divorced by the state of
California.
She couldn't believe it. She read it over and over again not believing what
she saw. It couldn't be, but it was. She put the papers down to see Ben down
on one knee with her wedding ring in his hand. Tears came to her eyes as Ben
began to speak.
BEN: "Meg, I have loved you from the first moment I met you. I know things
have been tough but I also know that no one could make it through this but
us. I guess I don't have any right to ask you this, but I'm going to anyway
because I've recently discovered that sometimes you have to follow your heart
not your head. So anyway to get to the point, Meg Cummings will you do me the
greatest honor in the world and be my wife again?"
Meg now has tears in her eyes
MEG: "Yes, Ben Yes I will marry you again" she said through tears
Ben had a huge grin on his face. He wished he could swoop her up, but he knew
he couldn't. Instead he gave her the most passionate kiss ever. They both
laughed and began to kiss more and more until they both had to stop. They
looked lovingly into one another's eyes, and knew that only good things were
to come.
PART 6
BEN: "Well am I relieved. "
MEG: "Did you really think I would say anything but yes?"
BEN: "Well, I guess I knew in my heart that you couldn't turn me down!"
MEG: "Oh and how did you know that Mr. Evans?"
BEN: "Well, I am pretty irresistible!" Ben said jokingly
MEG: " Your right you are. Thank you so much for asking me to marry you
again. I love you, and this time I just know things are gonna work out"
BEN: "Yes, they are. Now I better put this ring on your finger before you
change your mind"
MEG: "Never"
Ben took the ring out of the box and gently slid it on to Meg's finger. He
held her hand and then kissed it.
BEN: "Now all you have to do is get better so we can start planning a
wedding."
MEG: "What do you mean? I thought we were just going to get married in Venice
since we already had a wedding here in Sunset Beach"
BEN: "Well, I have changed my mind. Meg you deserve a real wedding with your
friends and family there. I want to give you everything you deserve."
MEG: "Oh Ben you are so sweet. Well I had better get back to my normal self
soon then because I want to marry you as soon as possible. "
BEN: "Me too. But I want you to be all right so don't push yourself okay? I
couldn't stand it if anything happened to you"
MEG: "All right I will. I am sorry about before Ben when I was so upset with
the doctors. I must have seemed like a basket case huh?"
BEN: "Of course not. I was actually flattered, that someone could love me
enough to get so upset when I wasn't there. Meg you said you heard me talking
to you last night, well did you hear the part about..."
Meg interrupts him
MEG: "Ben I know you saw me with Casey that night, and I am so sorry, but I
was just so upset and....."
BEN: "Hey its okay, we both did things we regret lets forget about that and
move on okay?"
MEG: "Sounds like a plan"
They curled up next to eachother and just sat holding one another until
eventually they fell asleep.
PART 7
One month had passed and things were going great. Meg had a speedy recovery.
Ben was at the hospital everyday, and she felt that there was no reason that
she couldn't go home after 2 weeks, so Ben took her home. To their house. Ben
and Meg had discussed everything about the Casita and found out about the
Kidnapping being set up, they got everything out in the open.
Tess was sentenced to fifty years in prison for accompanying Derek and for
the kidnapping. Even after the 50 years are over she will still have to have
a bail of 50 thousand dollars.
Maria had adopted Benjy, and they had a beach house near Ben's. Ben has a
relationship with Benjy but it is as his uncle not his dad. Benjy was getting
along with Meg now or at least was starting to. Ben and Meg had told all
their friends and family everything and they were all so happy for them.
Ben had chosen Michael, and Gregory to be groomsmen. Casey was going to be
his best man again. Meg chose Vanessa and Sara as her bridesmaids and Gabbi
as her Maid Of Honor. Ben and Meg's wedding was exactly one week from today.
BEN AND MEG'S HOUSE
MEG: "Well I think that everything is ready, all we have to do is wait until
the big day now"
BEN:" I can't wait. Do you realize that by this time next week you will be
Mrs. Evans?"
MEG: "Finally! I just hope nothing goes wrong. I know it won't, but I am
still nervous from the last two times we tried this"
BEN: "Well I am not gonna let anything stand in our way this time, I promise"
MEG: "I believe you "
BEN: "Good. Now lets concentrate on something else"
