REVENGE by Soapy

Ben is sick and tired of what has been going on lately in his life. In a 24-hour period he has lost his close friend Casey and, more importantly, he has lost his heart and soul mate Meg Cummings. Then when things can’t get any worse Maria shows up and without thinking he has sex with her, only to get caught by Meg.

Ben is sitting at his desk just finishing off the last of several phone calls when Tess enters the room from the kitchen. Ben gets up and heads for the door.

Ben: Tess if you must know I’m going to get some work done (that) I’ve put off for sometime, so, I won’t be available at all today. Leave a message on my voice mail if you need me.

Ben: It’s hard to say. It depends on how much I can get done. So don’t count on it. I’ll grab a bite out.

Ben: I hope so, but I have a feeling that it is going to a little rough for a while, hopefully we’ll get it all cleared up.

Ben drives to Surf Central and waits for Meg to go to work. He knows her all too well so he doesn’t have to wait long, Meg has never been late for work ever. At quarter past eight on the nose Meg comes out and heads for her car. That’s when Ben makes his move. He sneaks up behind Meg puts his hand over her mouth and grabs her and takes her to his car. Places her firmly in the back seat. He gets in the front and drives. Meg starts to yell.

Ben: I’m taking you somewhere where we can talk without being interrupted by anybody. We have a few issues that need to be settled. Now shut up or I’ll put a gag in your mouth.

Meg shuts up. Ben parks the car behind The Deep. He has given the staff four hours off with pay so no one will hear Meg’s yelling. Ben grabs Meg’s hand and heads to his office. Once there he locks the door behind them.

Ben: We are alone and there is not a soul here to hear you yell and scream. Oh I should warn you that we are not leaving here until we have everything out in the open.

Ben: Like hell you don’t. I love you too bloody much to let it end just like that. Meg we have been through too much that I can’t just let us go. What happened between us Meg?

Ben: Why don’t you enlighten me? I want to know why you kissed Casey. You said that you never wanted to see me again, and before you say anything, I saw you and heard you before you caught me with Maria here.

Ben: Please tell me Meg. I also want to know what made you think that I would ever take Maria there.

Meg: I saw you and Maria get in your car and head towards Palm Springs. Then when Tess made a mistake with the dry cleaning, she brought over some of Maria’s clothes I accidentally overheard Tess telling Benjy that she didn’t know when you and Maria would be back. You went away on some trip and that is when I heard Benjy mention the casita. Well I knew Tess had to be wrong. I knew that you would never hurt me that much or I thought you never would. Until I saw the evidence that was lying all around our place.

Meg: You know, oh why should I tell you, I know what I saw and I know what you did. What I want to know is why did you string me along for so long?

Ben: Meg, I’m not stringing you along. I love you and you have to believe me when I say that I never have taken Maria to the casita.

Meg looks at Ben through her tears and can see little bit of the truth in Ben’s eyes.

Ben: You still have doubts. Well how about we go to the casita and see this so called evidence.

Ben: I want to see it and if I have to I will tie you up and take you there with me. I swore to myself that this day would not end until we got everything out in the open. So, are you going to come with me willing or do I have to kidnap you again.

Ben and Meg head for Palm Springs in silence. Once there they head for the casita. Ben opens the door and the exact same setup that Meg saw is still there. Ben can’t believe his eyes. Ben walks in and heads for the bed and sits down. He has a shocked look on his face. Meg stands in the doorway. Meg sees the look on his face.

Meg: Yes, I already told you, I saw Maria get into your car and you both drove off towards Palm Springs.

Ben: Meg, Maria and I never came here. In fact I took her to the airport so she could go to Seattle and find out about her past. I had a meeting in LA that day, so I took her and was planning on waiting with her until her flight left.

Ben: Because what I say is the TRUTH. Once at the airport Maria and I got to talk about Tess and how strange she was acting, Maria decided not to go to Seattle after all. So, I drop her off at the house and went to my meeting in LA. If you don’t believe me you can ask Maria, or I can give you the numbers of where I had my meeting. So, you know that I am not lying. I’ll even let you use my cell phone Meg.

Meg starts thinking what Ben has just said. She walks over to where Ben is. She then lifts her head up and looks Ben in the eyes then turns her head away and looks at the mess. She has tears in her eyes.

Meg looks at Ben; he, tentatively, takes her face into his hands and with his thumb strokes the tears away.

Ben: You know what I’m saying is true. Meg, I’ve never brought Maria here nor would I want to. Meg you are the only woman in my heart now. I love you Meg Cummings.

Meg: Oh God what a fool I’ve been. I do believe you Ben. I would have never kissed Casey or said that I never wanted to see you again if I had known. Please forgive me?

Ben pulls Meg’s face up to his and they start to kiss with hunger and passion that they have been denying for so long they break the kiss and embrace each other. They move apart but still in each other’s arms.

Ben: There is nothing to forgive. We both have been played for fools and I think I know by whom.

Ben: I’m not too sure but I know we will find out what she has been up to by the end of the day. That I can promise you, I’m going to need your help.

Ben: Let’s head back to Sunset Beach and I will tell you what I have in mind. Do you have your cell phone?

Ben: Good because you are going to need make a few phone calls. As I am going to check up on some things that I started this morning. Trust me Meg.

Ben and Meg leave the casita and in the car Ben tells his plan to Meg on getting revenge on Tess.

Ben: Let’s head back to Sunset Beach and I will tell you what I have in mind. Do you have your cell phone?

Meg: Yes I do why?

Ben: Good because you are going to need make a few phone calls. As I am going to check up on some things that I started this morning. Trust me Meg.

Meg: I do. I will always love you Ben.

Ben: I couldn’t stop loving you if I tried.

Ben and Meg start kissing again. They break both of them out of breath.

Ben: We better stop now. We’ll have plenty of time to do that later.

Meg smiles at him.

Meg: Promise?

Ben: I promise that you will have a night full of hot passion.

Meg: I can hardly wait.

Ben: You know it might be longer than a night.

Meg: Oh!

Ben and Meg leave the casita and in the car Ben tells his plan to Meg on getting revenge on Tess. Meg makes a call to Sara who is at the "ShockWave".

Meg: Hey Sara I have something to tell you, but first you have to tell me something.

Sara: Sure what?

Meg: Is Tess there?

Sara: Yeah she is. In fact she is with Tim, why?

Meg: Do you want to get back at Tim and Tess for breaking you and Casey up?

Sara: What do I have to do?

Meg: Wait for my phone call and then I want you to force Tess to go back to Ben’s house and if you can manage it have Tim go with her.

Sara: What are you planning?

Meg: Well is not what I’m planning its what we are planning.

Sara: We, what are you saying?

Meg, looks at Ben who is driving, she smiles and winks at him. He winks back.

Meg: Yes, Sara, Ben and I are back together. I can’t go into detail right now but I promise that I will tell you everything as soon as I can. So what do you say can you force Tess and Tim back to Ben’s house?

Sara: It would be my pleasure.

Meg: Good. Just don’t do anything until you get my call, which should be in about 20 minutes. Oh can you keep it to yourself about Ben and me.

Sara: Of course. I’m happy for you.

Meg: Thanks Sara.

Meg hangs up her cell phone.

Meg: Sara said she would be more than happy to help get Tess and Tim over to your place.

Ben: Good. Now it’s my turn.

Ben presses 2 buttons on his phone. Maria picks up her cell phone.

Maria: Hello.

Ben: Hi Maria.

Maria: Ben. I was just about to call you.

Ben: Oh why?

Maria: Well I just got a phone call from Antonio and he was telling me that Ricardo is still feeling down and frustrated about his condition. He thought that a visit from his favorite nephew would do the trick. I was going to call you and tell you of our plans. Since you aren’t going to be home for dinner Benjy and I would have dinner over at Mama’s.

Ben: That sounds like a good idea Maria. Say hello to them for me.

Maria: Will do Ben.

Ben hangs up his cell phone.

Ben: Perfect, Maria and Benjy are going to be out for the rest of day so we will have the place to our selves.

Meg: Great! We can put this plan in motion.

Ben: Yes, the sooner we get this plan under way the sooner we can try to get back to the way we were before "The Nanny" showed up and ruined our elopement plans.

Meg: You know I’ve never been for one to get revenge on someone but this time I’m going to make an exception.

They both laugh at the last statement. As they each make several more phone calls.

Ben and Meg get to his house. They quickly get inside, just in case Annie is hanging around. Once inside Ben and Meg put their plan into motion. Meg goes to Ben’s desk picks up the phone while Ben goes upstairs and gets the box from Tess’ room.

Meg: Sara, its time.

Sara: Oh boy I’ve been waiting for this along time to do this. Ever since she showed up in Sunset Beach.

Meg: Do I want to know what you are going to do to them.

Sara: Well lets say that I’m going to be spilling a little coldness on the hot couple.

Ben is now downstairs with the box and a set of lock picking tools.

Meg (laughs): Oh all right Sara. Just make sure it is enough for them to be forced to come back Ben’s house.

Sara: Oh, don’t worry about that. When do you want them there?

Meg looks at Ben, who after quick work on the box, has it opened and has found the secret compartment that holds the some important papers about Tess’, Maria’s and Benjy’s life in Seattle. Ben looks at Meg with a sad look on face.

Meg: Sara, how about 20 minutes.

Sara: Perfect. They will be there.

Meg: Thanks Sara.

Meg hangs up the phone; she goes and sits beside Ben who is getting madder by the second. Meg looks at the papers he is holding and is shocked by what she sees.

Meg: Oh God Ben I’m so sorry.

Ben: Tess is going to pay for this!

Ben thinks back to the attachment he has to that little boy and everything that has happened.

Ben: Well, she will pay for this. Is Sara all set?

Meg: Yes she is. She said that she is going to spilling a little coldness on the hot couple.

Ben: I wonder what that means?

Meg: Knowing Sara, like I do, it could mean anything. We are just going have to wait and see. They will be here in less than 20 minutes.

Ben: That will give us enough time to get my favorite part of the plan.

Meg (asking innocently): Ben Evans you know I’m an up standing lady from Kansas.

Ben: Maybe during the day but I do remember that at night you become a temptress.

Meg: Only for you, only for you.

Ben pulls Meg in for a kiss. Meg pushes Ben’s jacket off him it lands on the couch as they giggle and kiss.

Back at the ShockWave, Sara puts her plan in motion by making an extra large triple chocolate milkshake. Casey is there with Michael. Casey wants to try to get back on friendly ground with Sara. Sara won’t give him the time of day, right now. Sara walks by Tess and Tim’s table, who are talking so close that an ant would have a hard time finding breathing room, and then Sara pretends to, trip and spills the entire shake on the couple.

Tess: YOU STUPID IDIOT!

Tim: SARA LOOK WHAT YOU HAVE DONE!

Sara: Oh god I’m so sorry about that. It was an accident. Honest!

Tess: YOU HAVEN’T BEEN HONEST SINCE THE DAY YOU WERE BORN!

Hank: Tess, are you calling my daughter a liar?

Tess: Well look at what she has done.

Sara: Are you saying that I did on purpose?

Tess: No I know you did it deliberately and I will find out why after I go home and change.

Tim: Tess I’ll go with you, since my shift has just ended.

Tess: All right.

Tess and Tim leave the restaurant. The second they are out of sight, Sara, who has been cleaning up the mess, makes a dash for the phone and calls Ben’s house. Unbeknown to Sara, Casey is behind her and hears her part of the conversation. Ben picks up the phone. He looks like he is only in a towel.

Sara: They are on their way over.

Ben: Thanks Sara, I hope we didn’t inconvenience you too much.

Sara: No, in fact it was my pleasure, you should heard her scream when I spilled the milkshake all over her. I thought the fire sprinklers would have gone off. She was so angry and Tim wasn’t in a good mood either. Oh god I would love to be there when they show up.

Ben: Well I’m sure Meg will fill you in on all the details.

Sara: Hey, Ben. I didn’t get a chance to tell Meg this but I’m really glad that you and her are back together again

Ben: Thanks Sara. Hey once this is all over with maybe Meg and I can help you mend some fences with Casey.

Sara: Thanks, but no thanks Ben. Those fences are far from being mended; they are in fact burnt down to the ground.

Ben: Sara, there is one thing that I have learned from your sister and that is never say never; because as long as you know he still cares about you there is always a chance.

Sara: Thanks Ben. Have fun with Tess and I want details of everything.

Ben: I promise Sara. Goodbye.

Sara hangs up the phone. She turns and walks smack into Casey.

Casey: I think we need to talk Sara.

Sara: No, we have nothing to say to each other. Now excuse me I have to get back to work and you need to get back to being a lifeguard.

Casey: Sara, I overheard part of the conversation that you were having with Ben. I thought I heard you say that you were glad that he and Meg are back together?

Sara: Casey, my conversations are no longer your business. So, please go, or do I have to have my dad throw you out of here again.

Casey: Ok, I’m leaving but this is not over Sara.

Casey leaves with Michael and their lunches.

Sara: Yes it is Casey. Meg has found happiness with the man she loves but I will never find that same happiness with you.

Sara wipes a tear away and gets back to cleaning up the mess that she caused with the milkshake.

Back at Ben’s house Tess and Tim arrived. They see Ben’s car in the driveway.

Tim: Tess, I thought you said that Ben was going to be out all day?

Tess: Well that is what he said. Maybe his plans changed.

Tim: Maybe?

Tim and Tess enter the house and can’t believe their eyes. The living room is a mess. There is a man’s jacket on the couch. There is a woman’s blouse right beside it the buttons have been ripped off.

Tim: Whoa, what do we have here? Could it be that Ben and Maria are consummating their marriage again?

Tess: It looks like that, but I want to be sure.

Tess walks over to the desk and picks up the phone she dials Ricardo’s number. Maria picks up.

Tess: Hi Maria.

Maria: Hello Tess, what can I do for you?

Tess: Oh I just called to see how Ricardo is doing?

Maria: Oh he is just fine. Benjy is helping him draw a picture.

Tess: That’s sweet, well I won’t keep you. Bye Maria have a nice visit with Ricardo.

Maria: Bye Tess.

Tess hangs up the phone.

Tess: We have a problem

Tim: Yeah I heard. If Ben isn’t upstairs with Maria then he has to be with…I better call the Media Center.

Tess: Do it Tim. If he is with Meg than we are out of luck. (To herself) in more ways than one if Ben ever finds out the truth.

Tim dials the Media Center.

Dallas: Hello, Media Center, Dallas speaking.

Tim (lowers his voice): Hello, I got a message from a Meg Cummings. She said it was urgent that I get a hold of her. Is she there?

Dallas: Oh I’m sorry sir you just missed her. She has gone out to have lunch. Can I give her a message?

Tim: Do you know whom with?

Dallas: Sorry sir I am not aloud to give that information out.

Just then Vanessa comes by the desk and talks loudly.

Vanessa: Meg you would forget your head if it weren’t attached. I can’t believe you forgot your purse again.

Dallas: Hold on sir. I will get her for you.

Tim hangs up the phone. The receptionist, who is a friend of Meg’s, disconnects; she gives a high 5 to Vanessa.

Vanessa: Ok Meg now I’ve done my part. It’s all up to you. Thanks for helping Dallas.

Dallas: I’m a romantic at heart and I know who belong together and they do.

Vanessa: Yes they do.

Tim: Meg is at the Media Center.

Tess: How do you know?

Tim: I just heard Vanessa complain to her about forgetting her purse, which is a Meg thing to do.

Tess: Then who is upstairs with Ben if it’s not Maria or Meg?

Tim: We better go and find out and get rid of her before Maria comes home.

Tess: Yeah and ruin my, I mean, our plans to get the million dollars that she promised me.

Tim didn’t notice the slip.

Tim: Yeah I have a lot of plans for the million dollars.

Tess: Let’s go and see who is in bed with Ben. Then I’ll tear her apart piece by piece.

Tess and Tim go upstairs, as they do they see a black bra sitting on the handrail. On the top of the stairs there is Ben’s belt, a few inches away there is a thin ivory belt. As Tess and Tim go down the hall they see more clothing thrown about. All the while Tess and Tim are wondering who the other woman is and how can they get rid of her and put their plan back into action. All of a sudden Tim stops in his tracks he bends down and picks up a condom wrapper right in front of Ben’s bedroom door. The door is opened a crack.

Tim: Well at least Ben is smart. He’s practicing safe sex.

Tess: Yeah but with who he is practicing with?

Tim: Well the door is opened why not take a peak?

Tess and Tim gently push the bedroom door so they can sneak a peak at the bed. They get shocked looks on their faces. They see Ben fast asleep, but what has the spies really miffed is the unknown blonde hair woman lying on Ben’s chest they can’t see her face because she has her head turned away from the door. The sheet is just barely covering their waists. Ben has both arms protective wrapped around her. They see Ben and the woman start to stir so the spies leave the room and head for Tess’.

Tess: DAMN! Who could that woman be?

Tim: I don’t know. If it was a red head I might take a guess but then Ben would have to be really drunk for that to happen.

Tess: Come on Tim think who do you think that woman is?

Tim: Why don’t we wait and see if she comes out of the room. Or better yet if Ben comes out and then we can go and see her ourselves.

Tess: Good idea Tim.

No sooner than they get those word out than they hear Ben’s door move with a small squeak. They peak out to see Ben, who is now in a robe, come out of his room he blows a kiss to the woman in the room and closes the door. Then he goes down the hall towards the stairs. Tim and Tess come out her room and head for Ben’s bedroom. They very quietly open the door. They see the woman still fast asleep her face is still turn away from the door. They walk in and close the door behind them. Tess and Tim take 3 steps away from the door towards the bed when Ben opens the door.

Ben: What are you 2 doing in my bedroom Tess, Tim?

Tess and Tim jump.

Tess: Ben, you scared me, I was just coming in here to use your shower. As you can see I got covered in a chocolate milkshake thanks to Sara Cummings. My shower is not working that well.

Ben: Tess, don’t say another word. You came in here to see who was in my bed, didn’t you?

Tess: Ben, now why would I do that?

Ben: I don’t know, why don’t you tell me downstairs? We can have a nice long chat Tess about some recent events that have happened. We can start with Benjy’s kidnapping!

Tess: Ben that was Meg’s fault for not keeping an eye on Benjy at the beach. That is the reason why Benjy got kidnapped. But I do agree let’s go downstairs and let this lady sleep.

That is when the blonde hair woman starts to stir. The woman sits up, covers her chest with the sheet that is when Tess and Tim sees the woman’s face for the first time.

Tess and Tim: MEG!

Ben: Yes, Meg is here and in my bed where she has always belonged.

Tim: I don’t understand.

Meg takes off the wig. Ben sits beside her on the bed.

Meg: It wouldn’t be the first time. Can we discuss this downstairs I would very much like to get dressed.

Tim: Well I don’t see how all your clothes are all over the house.

Ben: I think I can find something for her to put on. Now I want you two to go downstairs and wait for me. I’ll be just a minute and if you think of leaving, be warned that I have a lot of connections in this town I can and will hunt you down.

Tess and Tim leave the room. Tess heads for her room and gets changed. Tim heads downstairs. Tess is shocked when she comes out because Ben and Meg are both standing there fully clothed. (Meg is in the clothes she worn all day)

Tess: Ben, Meg it didn’t take you that long to get dressed.

Ben: Move it Tess!

Tess goes downstairs followed closely by Ben and Meg. Tim is sitting on the couch he has the blouse in his hands.

Ben: Tess sit beside Tim.

Ben goes over to his desk and sits down, Meg goes over and stands beside him.

Ben: Now Tess lets talk about Benjy’s kidnapping. What really happened?

Tess: Ben you know what happened. Benjy was with Meg when she got distracted and that let the man grab Benjy.

Ben: You better rethink your answer Tess.

Tess: What do you mean Ben?

Meg: Who distracted me Tess?

Tess: I went into the water and got caught in an undertow and Casey came to my rescue. That’s not a crime. Meg took her eyes off Benjy and you know the rest.

Ben: Tess, you aren’t telling me the truth. You see I know that you had Benjy kidnapped by a man named Jake an old boyfriend of yours Tess.

Tess: You’re lying Ben, and I know who is making you lie to me and that is Meg. She has wanted Benjy and me gone ever since I got here and ruined your elopement plans.

Ben: Tess there are a few things you should know about me. First no one puts words into my mouth. Second, when something happens to a person that I care about there is nothing that I won’t do to right the situation or make the person pay, who caused the pain. Tess right after Benjy was kidnapped I took it upon myself to hire a private investigator. To find the man who kidnapped Benjy, since I knew the police wouldn’t do it. He wasn’t that hard to find, someone who just came into $40,000 dollars all of a sudden plus just came back from a trip to California. You know I have to admit Tess the man doesn’t know how to spend money.

Tess: What do you mean?

Ben: I mean the man went back to a town just outside Seattle and got drunk, and when he drinks he talked on how he got his money and how he was going to get more from a certain nanny in Sunset Beach.

Tess: Ben that still doesn’t make the connection between Jake and I. Yes I dated him but that doesn’t make me an accomplice to your son’s kidnapping.

Ben: Meg would you be so kind and bring out our guest who has been waiting so patiently in the kitchen.

Meg: I would be glad to Ben.

Meg is about to walk away when he grabs her hand and pulls her for a kiss.

Tim cringes.

Tess: You mean Jake is here?

Ben: Yes, he is my PI found him yesterday but I wasn’t informed until this morning. I told him to bring him back to Sunset Beach on the next flight. I brought up the fact that I knew he had kidnapped Benjy and that if he didn’t tell me the truth I would see to it that he would never sees the outside world again. Guess what he did Tess?

Tess: Jake wouldn’t dare say a word to you.

Jake comes out with Meg.

Jake: Yes I did Tess. I don’t want to be in jail longer than I have too. I told Ben everything. Besides I didn’t like the idea of causing this nice woman, Meg, here any more pain and to take it off her mind that she wasn’t responsible for Benjy’s kidnapping. You were Tess. I told them everything. From the time you called me to the when you told me to leave town with the money.

Jake on the chair Meg goes over and stands beside Ben.

Tess: Ben why would I have Benjy kidnapped. I love him like he was my own son. I wouldn’t put him in harms way.

Tim: How about to get a million dollars Tess?

Tess: Shut up Tim!

Tim: The second I found out you were behind Benjy kidnapping I should have come straight to Ben and Meg and told them everything that I knew.

Tess: You know nothing.

Tim: Oh I know a lot more than you realize. There is one thing I know. You talk in your sleep.

Tess: I don’t.

Tim: Ben you are going to love this one. Benjy is not your son.

Tess: Ben, Benjy is your son. Tim you’re crazy.

Ben: I already know that Benjy is not my son Tim.

Tess: Benjy is your son, remember the paternity tests that you had done. It proved that you’re Benjy’s father.

Ben: Benjy is an Evans, but not my son. Tess you already know I’m a twin. And in some cases of twins they do in fact have the same DNA. Derek and I have the exact same DNA. On the paternity test it would show up that I was the father when in fact Derek is really Benjy’s father. I confirmed this information with a DNA expert who re-examined the paternity results.

Tess: If what you are saying is true about Derek, which is not! Maria is still Benjy’s mother.

Ben: No she’s not Tess. You are!

Tess: Ben you’re talking crazy

Ben: Am I Tess? I don’t think so. You see it bothered me that Maria never remembered giving birth to Benjy. I did some more digging into your past Tess and found out that you used to be a nurse in the records department of Seattle General Hospital. You were dating a man who looked a lot like me, Derek, for about a year prior to Benjy’s birth but you kept your pregnancy a secret because you and my brother hatched a plan to get my money and my life.

Tess: You have no proof!

Ben: Want to bet on that! The moment Meg and I came home I went into your room brought down the box and found the papers saying otherwise. What is on these pages is really quite interesting. It shows that you have knowledge of mind alternating drugs. Drugs that can make you forget things; events and time like 5 years.

Ben brings out the pages that were in Tess’ box. Tess snatches then from Ben’s hands.

Tess: You had no right to go through my things!

Ben: I had every right when it comes to the people I love most in this world. Tess you and Tim are going to jail for a long time!

Tess: You can’t keep me away from my son!

Tess realizes he has said too much.

Ben: You were never Maria’s friend. You and Derek used her to get my life what was the rest of the plan Tess? Once I was out of the way Derek moved in and then Maria would have another accident this time fatal. Then the loving nanny marries the master of the house and you and Derek live happily ever after on my money. Am I correct?

Maria shows up with Benjy just in time to hear Ben’s speech.

Maria: Tess is what Ben says is true?

Tess: Maria what are you doing home so soon?

Maria: Ricardo fell asleep and mama wasn’t feeling good so I decided to come home. Ben, is what you are saying true about Benjy?

Ben: Well I don’t know about the plan but you and I are not Benjy’s parents. Here is the proof.

Ben brings out the original set.

Ben: You think that I wouldn’t make copies of those pages. I’m going to pass all this information to the police. Along handing you over.

Benjy looks at Tess.

Benjy: Why are you going away Tess?

Ben: Benjy Tess has done something bad. And when you do something bad you sometimes have to go to jail. Do you understand?

Benjy looks down.

Ben: Benjy what wrong?

Benjy: I’ve done something wrong now I’m going to jail.

Maria: What is it Benjy?

Benjy: On the day daddy came to rescue me from that man. The man didn’t take me. I went to him.

Ben: Why Benjy?

Benjy: Because Tess told me that if I wanted to stay here with you and mommy I had to. I wanted to tell you the truth daddy but Tess told me that if I said anything you wouldn't want me around anymore.

Ben goes up to Benjy and gives him a hug.

Ben: You should know something I would never throw you out. You have a big part of my heart. I love you Benjy and that is not going to change.

Benjy smiles: Does this mean I can stop being nasty to Meg?

Ben looks at Benjy and smiles.

Ben: What are you saying Benjy?

Benjy: Tess told me that I had to be mean to Meg. If I wanted her to stay with us, it was really hard daddy I like Meg a lot.

Ben: Benjy there are a few things that you should know that I will tell you later. I promise. Why don’t you go up to your room?

Benjy: Meg can you come with me please?

Meg smiles.

Meg: I would love to Benjy.

Meg is about to go upstairs with Benjy when Ben grabs him.

Ben: Take care of her for me Benjy?

Benjy: I’ll do my best daddy.

Ben gives Benjy a kiss on the cheek and Meg a kiss on the lips. He watches Meg and Benjy going upstairs with pride and love in his heart for them both. He then turns and sees the people he has contempt for.

Ben: You know I’m sick of the sight of you Tess, Jake and Tim.

Spencer comes down stairs. He had heard everything.

Ben: Officer gets these people out of my sight. NOW!

Spencer: Yes sir.

Spencer starts reading Tess, Tim and Jake their rights.

Tim: Wait why am I being arrested?

Ben: For covering up Tess the kidnapping. That makes you an accessory after the fact!

Tess: Ben can you tell me one thing?

Ben: It depends on the question?

Tess: Whose clothes are here all over the floor. I know they aren’t Meg’s.

Ben: No they aren’t. They yours. Meg figured that you would know what she likes to wear so she went into your closet and found these. Pretty smart of her don’t you think?

Tess: You know this isn’t over with yet far from it Ben.

Ben: Don’t make threats that you can’t carry out. Get these people out of here. They are making me sick.

Tess, Tim and Jake leave Ben’s house in handcuffs. Ben turns to Maria.

Ben: I’m sorry you had to find this way about Benjy.

Maria: You know that explains everything. Why I can’t remember giving birth to our, I mean Benjy, its because I didn’t. Tess did. Oh God I feel like such a fool! How did you figure it out?

Ben starts to tell Maria everything that has happened that day from the time he kidnapped Meg to the casita to where he found the evidence in Tess’ box about Benjy.

Maria looks like she is ready to kill someone.

Maria: So what are we going to do now?

Ben: Pick up our lives before Tess showed up.

Maria: What about Benjy?

Ben: I may not be his father but I’m still his uncle and that gives me some rights, I’ll have my lawyer look into it on Monday. I would like very much to be apart of his life. I have grown fond of that little boy upstairs.

Maria: I can tell. So where does that leave me? In one hour I have lost my son and my husband.

Ben: How about we discussed this on Monday. I’m going to take Meg away for the weekend to make up for lost time.

Maria: Ben do you still have the divorce papers?

Ben: Yes I do, why?

Maria: I think it’s about time I signed them.

Ben: Do you want to?

Maria: Yeah I do. That way you and Meg can start the weekend off right.

Ben: Thanks Maria. You know if things had happened different…

Maria: Let’s not start the "what ifs" Ok?

Ben: Ok.

Ben goes over to his desk and brings out the divorce papers. Maria signs them. All of a sudden they hear loud country music playing.

Ben: Let’s go up stairs see what is going on?

Maria: All right!

Ben and Maria go upstairs and head straight for Benjy’s room. The door is opened a crack. Ben and Maria take a peak into the room and see Meg and Benjy laughing and dancing. Meg is teaching Benjy how to do the Texas 2-step.

Benjy: Sorry Meg about stepping on your toes.

Meg: Benjy can I tell you a secret about your daddy.

Benjy: Yeah I would love to hear one.

Meg: You have to promise me not to tell a soul.

Benjy: I promise!

Meg: Cross your heart and hope to die stick a needle in your eye?

Benjy: I promise! Tell me Meg.

Meg: When your dad and I were in Kansas, I took him dancing at a dance club that I use go to when I lived there. It’s called the Buckaroo, well to make a long story short. I had to teach you dad how to do the same dance that I just taught you…

Benjy: The Texas 2-step?

Meg: Yes, your dad stepped on my toes more times than I could count.

Benjy breaks out laughing, Meg smiles.

Benjy: Well like son like father.

Meg: The expression is like father like son, and I’m going to tell you something, you are look like your dad especially in the eyes but you are a lot lighter on my toes than your dad ever was.

Benjy laughs just as Maria and Ben decide to come into the room.

Ben: Hey what’s going on here?

Benjy: Oh nothing daddy. Meg was teaching me how to do the Texas 2-step.

Ben: Oh, and how did he do compared to this old man?

Meg: Benjy is a lot lighter on my toes than you ever were.

Ben: Oh is that a fact?

Meg: Yes it is.

Ben: I’ll remember that the next time you want me to take you dancing.

Meg: I bet you will.

Meg walks up to Ben and gives him a play hit on the arm.

Benjy: Meg you shouldn’t hit.

Ben: That’s right Meg you shouldn’t hit, especially me!

Meg: Oh, I’m so sorry can you forgive me Benjy?

Ben: Why are you asking him for forgiveness when it was I you hit.

Meg: But he was the one who scolded me. Not you!

Ben: Ok, ok, we have to get going Meg.

Benjy: Where are you going daddy?

Ben: Benjy I’m taking Meg away for the weekend. I haven’t been nice to Meg these last few weeks so I’ve decided to take Meg away for the weekend to make it up to her. You understand?

Benjy: Well then I should take Meg away too since I’ve been really nasty towards her.

Maria, Ben and Meg get a laugh out of that.

Meg: How about I make a deal with you Benjy. Your daddy and I want to be alone this weekend, so how about next weekend you can take me to the movies would that be ok?

Benjy: Yeah it would Meg, but I don’t have any money to take you.

Ben: Well you can earn it by doing things around the house, like make your bed, help with the dishes and other things like that. You do that and I can guarantee that you will have enough money to take Meg to the movies next weekend.

Benjy: Ok daddy. I’ll do that.

Ben: Benjy, you better work extra hard because I know Meg loves to pig out during movies.

Meg: I’ll get you for that Ben Evans.

Ben: We have to get going Meg, I made reservations and we don’t want to be late for them.

Meg: No we better not be. Benjy I look forward to our date next weekend.

Meg gives Benjy a kiss on the cheek. Benjy kisses her back.

Benjy: Meg.

Meg: Yes Benjy.

Benjy: Meg I know I haven’t been that nice to you since I came here but I was wondering if might find in your heart to care about me like you do daddy?

Meg: Benjy you already have a special place in my heart, a part that your daddy can’t get to.

Benjy: Cool.

Benjy gives Meg a bear hug and a big wet kiss on the cheek. This brings tears of joy to Meg’s eyes.

Benjy: Bye, daddy, take good care of her.

Ben: I’ll do my best.

Benjy goes off with Maria. Ben takes Meg into his arms.

Ben: Meg you have done it again, you have another Evans fall in love with you.

Meg: Well I don’t know about a 4 year old Evans is in love with me what I want to know if the 33 year old Evans is in love with me.

Ben: Do you really have to ask?

Ben leans down and gives Meg a long passionate kiss.

Ben: Does that answer your question?

Meg: Yes it does. So, where are you taking me to make up for lost time?

Ben: Oh you are going have to trust me.

Meg: Ok, but I better stop at Surf Central to pick up some clothes.

Ben: No time. The Liberty Jet is waiting for us at the airport.

Meg: Jet! Ben you’re not taking me to Venice, are you?

Ben: Now you know me better than that. I promise to take you to Venice on our 6 weeks honeymoon. Not for a weekend, no I’m planning on taking you somewhere just as romantic and fun.

Meg: Now you really have me guessing.

Ben: Didn’t I tell you that after we got engaged the first time. I hope you will never find out what I have for you.

Meg: Well then lets get going. Do you mind if we make one stop along the way, I want to thank Dallas and Vanessa for covering for me.

Ben: Good idea, anyway I want to give her the good news about her promotion in person.

Meg: Promotion? Who is getting promoted?

Ben: Dallas is. She has been with Liberty Corporation for many years with out missing a day so Gregory and I thought, before he died, that she should get a promotion. How would you like Dallas to be your assistant?

Meg: I would love it. Dallas has some really excellent ideas.

Ben: Well then my lady lets get going.

Ben and Meg head out for the airport and like they said they stop at the Media Center to tell Dallas the good news and to thank her for her help. Dallas told them that she was more than happy to help out, plus she accepted the promotion. Ben makes a call to have Meg’s desk move back to where it belongs close to his office and Dallas’s close to Meg’s desk. Dallas thanks them again.

Ben and Meg are on the Liberty Corporation jet; they’ve been in the air for about an hour. Meg still doesn’t know where they are going.

Meg: Come on Ben give me a little hint as to where we are going?

Ben: This is bugging you isn’t it?

Meg: You know it is. Now come on how about a little hint as to where we are going for the weekend?

Ben: Ok, gambling.

Meg: Gambling? Well it’s not Las Vegas because if we were we would have been there by now.

Ben: No it is not Las Vegas. Oh I forgot to ask you do you have your ID on you like your birth certificate and driver’s license?

Meg: Yes I do why?

Ben: You are going to need when we land at Pearson International Airport.

Meg: Pearson International Airport. I’m not familiar with that airport, what state is that?

Ben: Not state, province.

Meg: Province? You mean you are taking me to Canada?

Ben: Yeah I am. Didn’t you once tell me that you wanted to see Niagara Falls? Well I’m taking you there. I happen to know there is worlds class casino that is within walking distance of the falls.

Meg: Now how do you know this?

Ben: From our good cyber friend, Soapy.

Meg: Oh yeah, I remember, Soapy talking about how romantic Niagara Falls are. She and her husband go there every year on their wedding anniversary. They love to walk hand in hand at the falls and watch the sun go down and wait for the lights to illuminate both American and the Canadian Falls. When do we land?

Ben: Soon very soon, how about you come over here, make yourself comfortable. I want to hold you.

Meg moves into Ben’s arms. He enfolds her in his love.

Ben: God it feels so good holding you in my arms again, close to my heart and my soul.

Meg: It feels good to me too.

Ben takes Meg’s face in his hands brings her lips close to his. What was meant to be a short kiss turns into a passionate hungry kiss. Ben moves his mouth towards her ear.

Ben: I love you so much. I want you.

Meg: I’ve always been yours, now and for eternity.

Ben moves his lips down her neck. Kissing the exposed skin. He goes down one side moves slowly along the front, Meg tilts her head back she has her eyes closed, she lets the heat of Ben’s kisses drive her mad with passion. Ben continues his kisses and small love bites along the top of Meg’s breasts, he goes up towards her other ear.

Ben: You know if I don’t stop now I won’t be responsible for my actions.

Meg: You think I want you to stop.

Ben pulls back looks at Meg, smiles pulls her towards him as they begin to take each others clothes off. They run their hands over each other getting reacquainted with the feel and remembering the passion that they once shared. They begin to make love slowly, constantly kissing and stroking each other. The passion takes over they are no longer two separate beings but one soul. They don’t know where one end and one starts. They move together in perfect rhythm when they both share out of body experience as they climax together. They both end up on the couch sweating and out of breath. Meg lies in Ben’s arms. He slowly strokes her arms. He grabs his jacket to cover them both.

Ben: I think we have just joined a very exclusive club.

Meg: The mile high club.

Ben: Oh you have heard about it?

Meg: Yeah I have but I honest never thought I would be a member of that exclusive club.

Ben: You want to know something?

Meg: You know I do.

Ben: I never thought I would become a member of it either.

Meg: Now that I have hard time believing. But I love that we became members of the mile high club together.

Ben: Me to.

Meg: You know I have this sudden urge to renew my member ship again.

Ben: Funny I do too.

Meg: Is there a shower on this private jet?

Ben: Yes there is, why?

Meg: I’m in need of a hot shower, there is a certain spot on my back that I always have a hard reaching. Want to help me.

Ben: You know me I always love to wash your back.

Meg smiles. She stands up and throws the jacket at Ben.

Meg: Last one to the shower is an English muffin.

Ben and Meg race to the shower laughing. (Ben gets to the shower last) They drain the hot water tank in a very short time, but the cold water didn’t do anything to change the heat that Ben and Meg were creating.

3 hours after Ben and Meg land at Pearson Airport, in Toronto. They arrive at the Sky Towers hotel, which over looks the falls. Ben has arranged for them to have a suite that over looks the falls. The room has 6 dozens white roses. Before they left for Niagara Falls, Ben and Meg went shopping in downtown Toronto, at the largest mall in the city The Eaton Center, for warmer clothes in November. While Meg went shopping Ben stopped off at Birks, which is a large jewelry store, to pick up something important.

Meg walks out on the balcony. She takes a sharp breath in because of the cold and of the glorious view of the falls. Ben walks up behind her and encircles his arms around her. He nuzzles her neck.

Ben: Breath taking isn’t it?

Meg: Yes it certainly is. No wonder it’s called one of the 7 wonders of the world.

Ben: I agree. What do you want to do first? We can go for a walk down by the falls and see them close up, or we can go to the casino. Or…

Meg: We could do that too.

Ben: But…

Meg: I want to do some sightseeing in the Honeymoon capital of the world.

Meg gives him those looks that he can never say no.

Ben: Ok. We’ll go sightseeing.

Meg jumps up and smiles.

Meg: Yes.

Ben: Why is that I can’t say no to you?

Meg: Oh that’s simple you’re madly and passionately in love with me.

Ben: That I am. So you better go and get changed. While I get directions on the best route to take to the casino.

Meg: Now I have proof that you are no ordinary man.

Ben: What do you mean?

Meg: A normal man wouldn’t ask for directions.

Ben smiles and leans down to give Meg a kiss. Then he gives her a hit on the rear.

Ben: Now get going.

Meg salutes him.

Meg: Yes sir.

Meg grabs one of the larger shopping bags as she heads for the bathroom. Ben watches her leave. He grabs one of the bags that his clothes are in. He sits on the bed. He pulls out a large dark blue sweater he pulls out a smaller Toronto Maple Leaf sweater. Ben feels a sharp pain in his heart.

Ben: Oh god. I forgot I bought this; I better hide this before Meg sees this.

Meg sneaks up behind Ben wearing only a towel.

Meg: See what Ben?

Ben holds up the sweater.

Ben: I bought Benjy a hockey sweater. I know I shouldn’t have but I couldn’t help myself.

Meg walks over to her parcels and pulls out a stuffed BJ Birdy (The Toronto Blue Jay Mascot)

Meg: Looks like we are both guilty of shouldn’t haves. When I saw this little fellow I couldn’t resist either.

Ben laughs: Benjy will love it.

Meg: You think so?

Ben: Yeah I do. Remember he likes you now.

Meg: I almost forgot. Well I better get out of this towel or we will never see the sights.

Ben: Take off that towel and I can see a sight I know that I will never tire of.

Meg: Ben Evans you are so bad.

Ben: I know but you still love me.

Meg: No you’re wrong. I don’t love you.

Ben (sounding a little hurt): You don’t.

Meg: I adore you.

Ben: That’s better.

Ben pulls Meg in for a kiss.

Ben: Now you better go and get changed before I get other ideas in my head.

Meg: All right.

Meg goes off and gets changed. About 10 minutes later Ben and Meg are out of the hotel room. Ben is in a dark blue sweater and black jeans and a black jacket. Meg is in a pair of black jeans and a pink sweater and a blue jacket. They walk hand in hand down the small hill towards the falls. They pass a number of tourist shops. They do a little windows shopping but don’t stop. When they finally get down towards the falls Ben and Meg are in awed at the sight and the roar. They can feel the mist on their faces. They’re lots of couples down there holding hands and looking at the falls. The sun is setting it makes the falls look magical with a double rainbow springing up before their eyes.

Meg: This is breath taking.

Ben: I have to agree with you on that. It’s totally amazing.

Ben and Meg look over at the falls again. They see the maid of the mist running from both sides. Ben puts his hand inside his pocket and pulls out a small box.

Ben: Meg.

Meg turns and looks at Ben.

Meg: Yes.

Ben: I know I have asked you this twice before and they say that third time is a charm.

Ben opens the ring box, inside is a large diamond surrounded by 12 small sapphires.

Ben: Meg will you marry me again?

Meg: Yes, yes I will marry you again.

Ben places the ring on Meg’s finger and they start to kiss when they hear someone clapping. They turn their heads to see a woman clapping. Meg hides her face in Ben’s chest. The lady walks over towards them she has a small video camera hanging from her wrist.

The woman is in her late 20’s early 30’s about 5’8 heavy set. She wears wire frame glasses and has long dark brown wavy hair.

Woman: I’m sorry I didn’t mean to interrupt your celebrating but I couldn’t help myself.

Ben: That’s all right. I guess I should have expected that.

Woman: Oh, I’m Cathy Robertson.

Cathy holds out her hand.

Ben: I’m Ben Evans and this is Meg Cummings.

They shake hands.

Meg: Nice to meet you.

Cathy: Nice to meet you too. The reason I came over I accidentally caught your proposal on video and I was going to offer you the tape.

Ben: That is very nice of you Mrs. Robertson. How much do I owe you for the tape?

Cathy: It’s Cathy and consider it an engagement present from a Canadian.

Cathy takes out the videotape and hands it to Ben.

Cathy: I hope it will play in your VCR.

Ben: I’m sure it will. How do you know we aren’t Canadian?

Ben hands the tape to Meg who puts it inside her purse.

Cathy: Well for one thing you both have tans and at this time of year you don’t get a tan unless you been on vacation but the main thing I notice is that you don’t have a Canadian accent. Meg you have an American accent and Ben you have that English accent.

Meg: Canadian accent?

Cathy: Yeah we Canadians have a certain way of saying things. Like Eh after every sentence, like you want to go to the casino eh? Or instead of saying Toronto we say Toronta.

Ben: I’ve noticed that. Cathy please let me give you something for the tape?

Cathy: You don’t give up do you?

Meg: No he doesn’t.

Cathy: That’s really nice of you Ben but the answer is no. I’m supposed to meet my husband and daughter here. They went on the Maid of the Mist.

Ben: Why didn’t you go with them?

Cathy: I’ve been on it a number of times and besides I’m not that fond of boats. Would you like to see a picture of them?

Meg: Yes I would love to.

Cathy opens her purse and pulls out a picture of a little girl dressed up in a white dress with pink flowers all over it. She is in the arms of large man, who has glasses and a crew cut. She hands the picture to Ben and Meg.

Cathy: That’s my munchkin and my hubby.

Ben: She’s going to be a real heart breaker.

Cathy: She’s already now. Believe it or not she has 6 boyfriends.

Meg looks hard at the picture.

Meg: I’ve seen this picture somewhere before.

Cathy: You couldn’t have unless you’re on the Internet because that is the only place I’ve sent it.

Meg’s face lights up.

Ben: Meg what is it?

Meg: What name do you go by on the net?

Cathy: Soapy, why?

Meg: Your Soapy the storyteller. I’m Dorothy from Kansas.

Cathy gets a huge smile on her face.

Cathy: Dorothy from Kansas. Oh my God. I don’t believe this.

Meg and Cathy hug.

Ben: Soapy I’m SB.

Cathy: SB from Sunset Beach, California?

Ben: Yeah that’s right.

Cathy and Ben hug.

Cathy: Wow talk about fate?

Ben: That’s amazing.

Cathy, Meg and Ben head for a bench.

Cathy: I remember how you 2 would talk up a storm and have a private chat while I told one of my zany stories. Some of us in the chat wonder if you 2 would ever get together and you are. Boy now I can’t wait to get on the computer and tell some of regulars. So what are you 2 doing here besides getting engaged?

Meg: It was because of you. You often talked about the falls and how you would come here every year on your wedding anniversary with your husband well we wanted to see if it was all it’s cracked up to be. But wait a minute your wedding anniversary is in April what are you doing here in November?

Cathy: The Munchkin wanted to see the falls so we thought why not make a weekend of it.

Ben: Like we are.

Cathy: Ben what did you do?

Ben: What do you mean?

Cathy: You either live in California or Kansas and they aren’t exactly within driving distance from here to make a weekend of it. So I’m asking you again what did you do?

Ben: Let’s say it’s what I didn’t do and we’ll leave it at that.

Cathy: Ok I can catch a hint.

Just then someone yells mommy. Cathy looks around and sees her daughter running and husband walking towards her.

Cathy: Munchkin!

Nicole: Mommy!

Nicole runs straight into her mother’s arms. Cathy picks up her daughter and swings her around.

Cathy: Did you have a good time on "The Maid of the Mist?

Nicole: Yeah I did. We got wet from the falls. See I got a free raincoat. I thought the boat was going to go under the water but it didn’t.

Cathy: Oh it didn’t?

Nicole: No cause if it did we would all drown. Even though I know how to swim good now don’t I mommy?

Cathy: I know you can swim well. But don’t you think that water is a little too deep for you?

Nicole: Nah.

Cathy laughs as she gives her daughter a big hug and kiss she puts down the little girl. Cathy’s husband comes up behind them. Steve is about 6 feet 1 about 295 has a crew cut and wears glasses. Steve gives Cathy a kiss on the cheek.

Cathy: Nicole, Steve I want you to meet some of my online friends. This is SB from California and this is Dorothy from Kansas or Ben Evans and Meg Cummings.

Cathy points to Meg and Ben. Nicole walks over to them and holds out her hand.

Nicole: Nice to meet you Mr. Ebans and Miss Commings.

Steve: Nice to meet you too.

Ben and Meg laugh as they shake Nicole and Steve’s hand.

Ben: Nice to meet you too Nicole. Well you’re certainly a cutie.

Nicole giggles.

Nicole: Mommy we’re hungry.

Cathy: Why does that not surprise me? What are you hungry for?

Nicole and Cathy say together: PIZZA

Steve: Yeah Nicole wants to go to that Italian place you know the one where they cook the pizza in that large brick oven?

Cathy: Oh yeah well lets get going before they get too busy.

Cathy turns to Ben and Meg.

Cathy: Well you two have fun here my neck of the world. Try your luck at the casino while you’re here. You might just get lucky again.

Ben: We will Cathy and thanks for the videotape. We’ll cherish it. If there is anything you want in return just name it.

Cathy: I don’t want anything. I love helping out people who belong together. See you on the net.

Cathy and her family leave Ben and Meg to watch the lights come on to light up both American and horseshoe falls. Ben has a protective arm around Meg’s waist. One of his fingers in looped on her jeans. Meg has her right hand in the back pocket of Ben’s jeans. After they watch the lights for a while they walk along the path way towards the casino. They pass Clifton Hill, a well know part of Niagara Falls that has a lot of restaurants and museums like Criminal Hall of Fame and Ripley’s Believe it or Not.

Meg: Ben if you don’t mind I don’t want to go to the Casino right at this moment.

Ben: Oh and what do you want to do?

Meg: I want to take a certain handsome Englishman to bed and make mad passionate love to him all night long.

Ben: It depends do you still have that blonde wig?

Meg: You know I do why?

Ben: I’ve often wondered what’s it like to make love to a blonde hair woman.

Ben and Meg head back to the hotel and after ordering room service they make love all night long. They stay up to watch the sun hitting mist of the falls before they fall asleep in each other’s arms. The next day they go to the casino Ben lost three hundred dollars where Meg leaves the casino with two thousand dollars in her pockets. She bought dinner and a bottle of special massaging oil from Kiss ‘N’ Tell to console the loser. That same night Ben returned the favor.

Meg and Benjy had their date. He paid for everything.

Casey and Sara got back together with little help from Ben and Meg once everything was out in the open as to Tim and Tess partaking in their break up. Casey and Sara got engaged on December 24th with a May wedding planned.

Ben and Meg got married on December 31, 1999 as their special guests Ben flew in Cathy, Steve and Nicole Robertson to witness the wedding. Nicole added another boyfriend to her list. Everyone lived happily ever after.
