Something To Live For

Chapter 21

“OK, just put the last one here and we’re done” said Grace as she was helping Mark to put the bulbs on place. They totally forgot about them yesterday and they had to finish the job today, five minutes before the party.

“All right, we are done” said Mark proudly and started admiring his work.

“Great job, guys” they heard Casey’s voice “Grace, thanks for helping us”

“You’re kidding?” she laughed “It was a pleasure. And fun”

“Yeah, but if it wasn’t for you, we wouldn’t have the bulbs. It was you who realized that we didn’t have them”

“All right, so I did a few things…”

“Like kissing Mark” Michael entered Surf - Central pulling Vanessa after him.

“Shut up!” Grace screamed and started laughing.

“OK” said Casey a little bit more seriously “This time looks like we have everything set”

“That’s good” Mark smiled “Because it’s seven o’clock and the rest of the guests should be arriving any minute” when he finished the sentence, they heard the door bell “Told you” Mark laughed and went to open the door. It was Sean and Emily.

“Oh, hi you two” he greeted them.

“Hi” answered Emily ‘Aren’t we a little bit to early?” she was worried.

“No, of course not” Mark replied “Come in” Sean and Emily went inside and were greeted by the rest of the gang.

“It looks great” Emily admired Surf – Central “Congratulations guys”

“Thanks” said Casey and looked around. Surf – Central looked wonderful, indeed. There was a big Christmas tree next to the kitchen door, and the whole house was full of colored bulbs and candles. Next to the wall, there was a table with food and drinks so that everyone could help oneself.

“Make yourselves at home” Casey turned to Sean and Emily.

“We will” Sean answered and they walked away. Soon, the door bell rang for the second time. It was Gabi.

“Hi guys!” she shouted and hugged everybody “The house looks absolutely amazing” she was chuffed “I’m sorry I couldn’t help you with preparing everything but I had a lot on my mind”

“Don’t worry” Michael smiled “We still need someone to clean all the mess up after the party”

“Don’t look at me” defended herself and everybody started laughing.

“Listen everybody!” Mark started “Since we are already here, why don’t we enjoy the party. I will play some music and let’s dance, what do you say?”

“Great idea” Vanessa supported him and turned to her fiancé “Come on Michael, let’s show them how one should do that”

“We?” he got frightened.

“Come on” she took his hand and pulled him to the middle of the room. Mark played “Smooth” by Carlos Santana and Rob Thomas and soon Michael and Vanessa sailed with the rhythms of music. After a minute, the rest was also occupied with dancing.

During the next half an hour, the rest of the guests started arriving. Amy and Brad showed up excited about the fact that Brad had saved somebody’s life on the beach. Sara showed up a few minutes later, she couldn’t make it earlier since she was helping her parents at the Shockwave. Joan and Hank came about fifteen minutes after Sara since they had to close the restaurant.

“Hi, good to see you guys” Casey greeted Joan and Hank.

“Hi” Joan answered “Looks like everyone is having fun”

“Yeah, I guess so” he said and went to Sara “And what about you, are you having a good time?”

“Yes, I am. As long as you’re here” she smiled.

“Don’t worry. I’m not going anywhere” he kissed her.

“Have you seen Meg?” she asked after a while.

“No, I haven’t. I think she hasn’t come yet. But she and Ben should be here any minute”

“I hope so. But on the other hand I’m sure that she is having a great time even without the party” Sara smiled meaningfully.

“Yeah… I’ll be right back” Casey winked his eye and headed the door to greet the next guests – a few of his colleagues from work.

Surf – Central was slowly becoming full of people – dancing, eating, talking… The party was going on perfectly. Casey, Sara, Mark and Grace were really proud of themselves.

***

“I am really glad that you agreed to help me with my Christmas Tree” said Ben as Meg were putting the star on the top of it.

“You really wouldn’t make it on your own, now would you?” she asked seductively.

“Of course not. I mean, since Grace decided to help in preparing the party at Surf – Central, I needed someone to help me” he answered and kissed her “And you really are invaluable”

“Well thank you Ben Evans but I think that you really overvalue me”

“Do I?” he asked “I don’t think so. Look, every normal woman would have walked away from me a long time ago”

“Then she would be insane to leave such a wonderful man like you” Meg had a short answer.

“I love you. And thank you for holding on for so long”

“I love you too” she answered and kissed him. Soon they landed on the sofa kissing. It’s a pity that the Christmas Tree landed on the sofa too. Meg hadn’t noticed that she pulled one of the balls with her dress. So now they were lying on the sofa with a Christmas tree above them.

“Noooo!!!” Meg screamed “What a stupid tree!” she looked at Ben but he was only laughing “What are you laughing at?” she asked “It’s not funny. We have to do everything from the beginning”

“I know” he smiled “But that will let me be with you alone for a longer time” he kissed her.

“Oh no, Ben Evans. Not a chance for that. We are going to clean that mess and then we’re going to a party at Surf – Central”

“I know, I know” he stood up and they once again started to put the tree up.

***

“Where can they be?” Grace was getting really worried “They promised to come”

“Come on” Mark comforted her “They will. And speaking of them…” Mark pointed the door where Ben and Meg appeared.

“Finally!” she shouted and ran to them “What took you so long? I was starting to worry”

“I’m sorry” Ben started explaining “But we had some problems with the Christmas tree at my place” Ben and Meg started laughing as they remembered everything what happened earlier.

“OK, OK. What counts is that you’re here now”

“And have every intention to have a great time here” Meg was in really good mood.

“Oh you will, you will, I promise”

“Are my parents here?” Meg asked.

“They are… somewhere over there” Grace pointed the middle of the room and laughed.

“Thanks, very precise information” Ben said ironically.

“You’re welcome” she answered and they went to Mark to say “hello”. When they did that, they started looking for Joan and Hank. Fortunately they didn’t have to look for long because Sara noticed them.

“Hi guys, come on, we’re here!” she called them and Ben and Meg broke through the crowd of people to meet Joan and Hank.

“Hi sweetie” Joan hugged her daughter “Hi Ben” she gave him a kiss on the cheek. Ben and Hank shook hands.

“So I guess we have a real party here” Meg smiled.

“Yes, we do” Sara said proudly.

“And speaking of party, Mrs. Evans to be” Ben turned to Meg “What would you say if I asked you to dance with me?”

“I’d say – let’s do it” she took his hand “Come on” she pulled him closer. Mark played very soft, slow song. Ben smiled and let Meg wrap her arms around him. He held her close breathing her wonderful smell, gently stroking her hair. He let her get lost in him completely. She felt his strong arms around her and she knew that there was no other place in the world she would like to be in.

“Well, you are pretty good at dancing” she commended him.

“I’m good only when I dance with you” he smiled and kissed her gently.

“That’s another thing you’re good at” she giggled and looked at him with those smiling, shining eyes of hers.

“Well, as they say – practice makes you perfect, right? So, maybe I should practice more to… you know”

“Well, as long as it’s with me” she smiled and let him kiss her once again “Because don’t you dare practice that with someone else”

“Don’t worry, I won’t” he gently kissed her ear.

“Ben!” she rebuked him.

“What?”

“We’re in public”

“So what? People know that we’re in love”

“Maybe” she smiled “But still I think it’s not the best time to…”

“Why? Don’t forget that you’re at home”

“I may be at home but that doesn’t mean that I can do whatever I like”

“You’re right. I should probably slow down a little bit”

“Yeah, PROBABLY” she smiled “Ben, people are starting to stare at us”

“Why? Haven’t they seen people in love?” Ben laughed but seeing Meg sight he became a little bit more serious “OK, I’m sorry. It’s just I can’t help it. When I see you all I wanna do is…”

“Believe me, I know exactly how you feel” she cut him short “But do it for me and try to behave tonight, OK?”

“You know that I would do anything for you” he kissed her hand.

“Thank you” she answered and one more time nestled into his arms.

“Hey, guys” they suddenly heard Grace’s voice.

‘What?” Ben asked.

“The song is over” Grace laughed.

“It is?” Meg blushed.

“Yes, but obviously you were to busy to notice that” Grace added and that made Meg blush even more “But I don’t blame you. You deserved it”

“I couldn’t agree more” Ben pulled Meg closer for a kiss. Suddenly they heard Vanessa’s voice:

“Hey Meg, Michael wants us to do the karaoke again. What do you say?”

“Karaoke?” Ben grinned “Sounds interesting”

“Oh no, you’re not gonna make me do that” Meg tried to wriggle out.

“Come on Meg” this time Gabi started to encourage her “It’s going to be fun”

“I don’t know…”

“Don’t grumble and come with us” Gabi took her hand and pulled Meg with her and Vanessa. Seeing that Michael announced:

“Ladies and gentlemen, can I have your attention please?” he waited a while until the crowd hushed “We have a surprise for you. In a minute, three absolutely beautiful ladies will dance for you. Just for you” everyone started applauding. Meg, Vanessa and Gabi stood in the middle of the room. Mark played the old version of “American Pie” and the girls started dancing. They had a really great time performing in front of the crowd.

“They are excellent, aren’t they?” Michael approached Ben.

“You’re telling me?” he smiled and looked at Meg. She looked so beautiful in her blue dress, with her hair falling on her shoulders. He couldn’t believe that this absolutely perfect woman was going to be his wife in a three days. He was the happiest man alive.

When Meg, Vanessa and Gabi finished their dance, everybody started clapping their hands.

“You were absolutely amazing” Ben took Meg in his arms.

“Did you really like it?”

“Did I like it?! I loved it!!!” he said and kissed her “You were excellent”

“Well I tried. I had to impress you”

“You impress me just by the way you are, every day of my life”

“And I have no intention of stopping”

“Good” he gently stroked her cheek and kissed her “Maybe we should go home” he suggested.

“Ben, I am home” she reminded him.

“Right” he smiled “Than maybe we should go to my place”

“I’d love to…”

“But…” he knew that there were some “buts”.

“But this is a party. Casey, Sara, Mark and Grace worked very hard to prepare it and we can’t just simply go out whenever we like”

“You’re right, that’s rude” Ben was disappointed.

“Yes, besides I promised that I would help them in cleaning that mess up” she looked at him and smiled “But we have the rest of our lives, right?”

“I guess so”

“Can you believe that?” she took his face in his hands “I have the rest of my life to call myself Mrs. Evans. And to call your house my home again”

“I love you” he whispered and asked “May I have this dance?”

“Yes, as long as you promise to pay attention to when the song stops”

“I promise” he smiled and led her to the corner of the room when they could enjoy their dance.

Chapter 22

“Oh, I can’t believe that it’s tomorrow” Meg sighed when she, Sara, Vanessa and Grace was trying their dresses on “Tomorrow I’ll become Mrs. Evans” since Gabi had to go to El Paso, Meg didn’t have any problems in deciding who their bridesmaids would be – Grace and Vanessa were perfect for that role, as well as Sara for the maid of honor “I can’t wait to walk down the aisle and finally get married”

“Neither can Ben” Grace said “Believe me, he is so absolutely crazy about marrying you”

“I am crazy too”

“Well, we can see that” Sara laughed “You keep thinking about him all the time”

“And who am I supposed to think about the day before my wedding?”

“Hey, I’m not saying anything” Sara laughed once again “I’m so happy for you, Meg. Really”

“Yeah, and you said you were cursed” Vanessa smiled and reminded her one of their conversations.

“That’s because I was” Meg sighed “But every curse has to end sometime, right?”

“I guess so” Vanessa agreed “But still I can’t believe that you are getting married even earlier than I am. That’s so unfair, I have to wait one more week. A whole, long week”

“Don’t worry” Meg comforted her “I’ll tell you what it’s like when I’m done”

“You are AWFUL!” Vanessa screamed.

“I’m sorry” Meg laughed “I just can’t stop feeling like I was going to explode any minute. I am SOOO excited”

“I know and I don’t blame you” Vanessa replied “I mean, tomorrow is the most important day of your life”

“Yes, I have been waiting for this day for such a long time. And these final days are just beyond sufferance. I wish I could get married right now”

“Be patient” Grace advised “Just twenty seven hours left”

“Still too long for me” Meg finished putting her dress on and took a look in the mirror.

“You look absolutely beautiful, sis” Sara was delighted “Ben will go crazy”

“Sure he will” Grace knew that when Ben sees Meg in her wedding dress, he will be in seventh heaven.

“You look great yourselves” Meg looked at her bridesmaids “Ben is not the only one who is going to go crazy tomorrow”

“And don’t forget that we will have a crazy fun tonight at your bridal shower” Grace raved.

“Right. This is going to be a long night” Vanessa added and all four of them started laughing.

***

It was eight o’clock. Ben was sitting in his house thinking that it was only one night left before he marries Meg. Just one more night and he would have here, in his house, in THEIR house. And he would hold her close and never let go. Just one more night…

His thoughts about Meg were brutally interrupted by the door bell. It was Mark.

“Hi Mark, what’s up?”

“Nothing. I was just sent by Casey and Michael to bring you to Deep for a drink”

“I don’t feel like drinking right now”

“Come on, Ben. I know that you keep thinking about Meg but one little drink won’t do any harm”

“I don’t know”

“Come on. The girls are having bridal shower tonight, you can have some fun too”

“I guess you’re right” Ben agreed “I can use some time with you at the Deep” he took his jacket and they went out. After about fifteen minutes they reached the Deep.

“Look who’s here” Casey and Michael greeted Ben “Good job Mark, I didn’t believe that he would actually come”

“At first I didn’t want to” Ben admitted “But then I thought that if I keep thinking about Meg all the time, I’ll go crazy, so I decided to come”

“That’s good for you” Casey smiled “I mean, tonight we pay”

“Well then, in that case I wouldn’t dare to say no” Ben took his seat.

“So, you really are getting married” said Mark as he placed the drinks on the table.

“Yes, and this time without any interruptions” he vowed “Everything must go perfect”

“It will, Ben, you’ll see. By this time tomorrow you’ll be a married man” Michael reminded him.

“Yeah, and you will have a beautiful lady by your side” Casey added.

“You don’t have to tell me” Ben smiled “I can’t wait to start my life with Meg”

“You really can’t stop thinking about her” Mark laughed.

“Can you blame me?”

“No, of course not. I mean, after everything that you’ve been through, there’s no wonder that you are so anxious to marry her. But don’t worry, everything will be fine. This is going to be a great day”

“I know. I just wish the time was passing a little bit quicker” Ben took his drink.

“That’s right” Casey remembered “The toast” he waited until everyone was holding a drink and started talking “We all know what are we toasting, don’t we?” he smiled “So, Ben, may there be very sunny days for you and Meg and a lifetime of happiness to come for both of you”

“And your children” added Mark laughing.

“Who said anything about children?” Ben was surprised but he couldn’t hide his grin “OK, I’ll drink for that” he lifted his glass. So did Casey, Mark and Michael. Ben drank his drink and couldn’t stop thinking that tomorrow he will be the happiest man alive.

***

“OK, Meg, one more question” said Vanessa as the girls were sitting in the living room at Surf – Central. Fortunately Gabi could make it but she had to leave for El Paso early in the morning. Emily was also there, so was Caitlin who came with her. And of course Grace and Sara were also celebrating with Meg. Joan and Bette had come by for a moment but decided not to disturb the young in their party. Besides Joan had so many things to do before the wedding.

“You have to answer honestly” Caitlin reminded her.

“OK, go ahead” Meg agreed.

„Tell us about the most lustful night of your life” asked Vanessa an all of them started laughing, excluding Meg of course.

“What?” she was surprised.

“Oh, come on Meg” Gabi encouraged her “We know that you and Ben have had many nights full of passion, so tell us which one was the best “

“Guys, you are unbelievable!!!” Meg screamed.

“Wrong answer” Grace smiled “Try again”

“Oh, oh, and you are the most interested one, let me guess”

“You bet I am, I mean someone has to teach me”

“God, you are awful!!!” Meg laughed and hit Grace with a pillow from the sofa.

“We know, we know” Gabi smiled “But that still doesn’t answer our question”

“Oh, you won’t leave me alone, will you?” Meg was slowly giving up.

“Not a chance” Vanessa confirmed “So, are you going to reveal your deepest secrets to us? Come on, just a little bit”

“All right, all right” Meg agreed.

“OK, we’re listening” Sara laughed and sat comfortably on the coach.

“Well” Meg started her relation “It was a few days ago. Ben took me to our place in Palm Springs. It was full of roses and candles… Anyway, we made love all day and all night” Meg ended quickly not wanting to reveal everything.

“Wow!” Vanessa clapped he hands “That’s an accomplishment. But weren’t you two a little bit tired?” she asked and the rest started laughing.

“God!” Meg screamed “You really are unbelievable! Don’t you have more interesting subjects?”

“Actually, we don’t” Gabi answered “Besides it’s your last night here and we have to get out of you as much as we can”

“You’re right – my last night here” Meg looked around with affection “I can’t believe that I’m going to be spending the next night in Ben’s house”

“With Ben… in a big, comfortable bed in his bedroom” Sara ended and once again all of them started laughing.

“You know, I’m gonna kill you someday” Meg warned them.

“I don’t think so” Gabi shook her hand “You’ll be too busy with Ben. You know, Grace” Gabi turn to her “If I were you I would leave the door to your room tightly closed on their wedding night”

“Don’t worry, I’m not sleeping at home that night”

“You’re not?” Meg was surprised.

“No, I’ll be staying at Surf – Central that night”

“Why?”

“To give you and Ben more freedom”

“Oh, how generous of you” Meg blushed.

“I know. You’ll thank me later” Grace laughed and once again felt a pillow on her head.

Chapter 23

“Meg, sweetie, wake up” Joan was gently shaking Meg but apparently she had no intention of waking up “Meg, you’re getting married today, have you forgotten?

“No I haven’t” Meg slowly lifted her head “What time is it?”

“Eleven o’ clock”

“What?! Eleven o’clock?! My wedding is in three hours, why didn’t you wake me up earlier!?” Meg looked angry at Joan but she only started laughing “What?” Meg asked surprised.

“Honey, I’ve been trying to wake you up for about half an hour but you wouldn’t listen to me”

“I’m sorry mom, but I was so excited yesterday that I couldn’t sleep. And when I finally fell asleep, it was around morning”

“I guess you had a great time during your bridal shower?”

“Oh yes, we did” Meg smiled “It was a great evening… A great evening before a great day… Mom, I can’t believe that this is finally happening”

“It won’t happen if you don’t hurry up” Joan laughed “You need to get ready for the wedding. And although I believe that Ben would marry you even if you were wearing your pyjamas, I still think that putting your wedding dress on is a good idea”

“Mom!” Meg grinned and after a while she became a little bit more serious “Just give me a few minutes, OK? I’ll be right back”

“OK” Joan answered and went downstairs. Meg got up, took a shower and put on some clothes. She didn’t even care what she was wearing because in three hours she was going to wear her wedding dress and marry the man of her dreams.

When she went downstairs, she saw the whole Surf – Central gang waiting for her. Her father and Sara were also there.

“So, how is our bride to be doing?” asked Casey.

“And how do you think she is doing?” Sara smiled.

“Right, right, what was I thinking? In three hours you’re gonna be Mrs. Evans and I’m asking you how you feel”

“It’s OK Casey” Meg smiled “And I’m doing absolutely fine. Actually, I’ve never felt better in my entire life”

“Well, that’s understandable, sweetheart” Hank hugged his daughter “You’re getting married. It would be abnormal if you weren’t excited”

“OK, OK, that’s enough” Sara interposed “Because you will not marry Ben if we don’t hurry up”

“All right” Meg replied “So, how is everything arranged?”

“You’re going to the mission with me and Sara” Joan started explaining “Grace and Vanessa are already there. Dad, Mark and Casey are going with Casey’s car a little later and are meeting Ben there”

“OK. Looks like everything is set, so we can go” said Meg and she, Sara and Joan went out of Surf – Central. It took them about twenty minutes to get to the mission. Like Joan had said, Grace and Vanessa were already waiting there.

“Meg, thank God!” Grace hugged her “We were starting to worry that you had changed your mind” she smiled.

“Are you kidding?” Meg nearly jumped “I wouldn’t miss my own wedding, now would I?” she laughed.

“Well, you’ve missed one in Ludlow” Vanessa interposed and after a second she added looking meaningfully at Meg “But that one wasn’t with Ben, right?”

“Exactly”

“So, are you ready to get ready?” asked Sara laughing.

“Absolutely” Meg answered and looked at her wedding dress with affection.

“All right then, let’s do it” Vanessa gave an order and all of them started the battle to prepare Meg for the wedding. Vanessa and Grace were making her hair – do, Sara went at doing the make up and Joan was doing last corrections with the dresses. Vanessa, Grace and Sara had to be really patient with their occupations since Meg was so excited that she couldn’t stay in the same position for longer than five seconds.

“Would you please just stop moving?” asked Sara laughing “Unless you want to look like a clown. Your choice”

“But I am NOT moving” Meg replied although she knew that she was “OK, OK, I’m sorry but I can’t help myself”

“Please, do it for us and stop moving just for a minute” asked Vanessa “You don’t want Ben to see you in such a mess, do you?”

“No, of course not. I want to look absolutely perfect”

“And you will” Grace promised “As long as you sit here and STOP MOVING”

“I’ll try” Meg answered and all of them laughed “Hey mom, how are the dresses?”

“Oh, yours is fine. I have some problems with Grace’s”

“What?” Grace got scared.

“Don’t worry. One button fell of but I’ll fix it in a minute”

“God, don’t frighten me like that”

“I’m sorry” Joan answered and looked at Grace smiling. Apparently, Meg wasn’t the only one nervous about the wedding.

When about hour and a half passed, Meg’s hair – do and make up were ready.

“OK. Looks like it’s finally over” Sara was apparently pleased and proud of her work. So were Vanessa and Grace.

“I think your hair is fine” said Vanessa “And what do YOU think?”

“Oh, it’s perfect. Thank you guys”

“Come on Meg” Sara laughed “You’re getting married. Did you think that we would let you look unlike perfect?”

“Right, I’m getting married… I’m getting married” she started screaming “I’m marrying Ben! I’m marrying my Ben!”

“Yes, yes, but YOUR Ben is not gonna wait for you forever” Joan reminded “So maybe it’s a good idea to put on your wedding dress. You should put your dresses too” she looked at Grace, Vanessa and Sara “I’m going to change too but first I’ll help Meg” Joan took the Meg’s dress and handed it to her. Meg started staring at it.

“Sweetie” Joan smiled “This dress is supposed to be put on and not looked at”

“I know, I know” Meg blushed “I just can’t believe that this is happening”

“You’d better believe that” Joan advised “And maybe start putting your dress on”

“OK, OK” Meg smiled and started a huge great battle with the dress. Although Joan was doing everything in her power to help, it took them about twenty minutes to put the dress in the right place. At the same time, the bridesmaids managed to deal with their dresses.

“Guys, you look great!” Meg started admiring them.

“Look who’s talking” Grace replied and they started laughing.

“Meg, you look absolutely BEAUTIFUL!” Sara screamed.

“Well, I have to try since I’m going to marry such a handsome man”

“I guess” Sara answered and all of them started improving their appearances.

***

“Casey, how does it look?” asked Ben sprucing himself over and over again, still not being sure if everything was in the right place.

“Ben, it’s perfect” Casey laughed “And stop messing with this tie all the time”

“I’m sorry, I just can’t stop the feeling that something is wrong”

“Ben, everything is fine. You look great. The wedding starts in half an hour so TAKE IT EASY”

“Easy to say” Ben sighed “You’re not the one getting married today”

“I know, you’re a little nervous…”

“A little?” Ben laughed.

“OK, you are very nervous, but don’t worry. Everything is going to be fine” Casey assured and at the same time they heard a knock on the door.

“Hey, it’s me” they heard Grace’s voice.

“Grace, come in” Mark invited her “Wow, you look absolutely wonderful”

“Well, you look great yourself. Actually, you are the most handsome best man I’ve ever seen” she smiled and changed the subject “OK, I’m here to check up on Ben… Big brother, you look absolutely breath taking. Meg will go crazy”

“See, I told you, Ben” Casey smiled and started explaining “He keeps thinking that something is wrong”

“And what would that be?” Grace asked and added “Ben, it’s going to be fine. And if it’s any kind of comfort for you, Meg is just as nervous as you are. But you can finally start counting the seconds if you want” Grace laughed and headed towards the door.

“Grace!” he called after her.

“Yeah?”

“Thanks”

“No problem” she smiled.

“Oh, and one more thing – you look beautiful”

“Just wait until you see Meg. You will go crazy”

“He already is” Mark smiled and Grace left the room.

Chapter 24

“Oh God, it’s now!” Ben whispered to Mark as the music started playing.

“Yeah” Mark answered and looked at the door where the bridesmaids appeared. First one to go was Vanessa – Michael couldn’t hide his ecstasy when he saw her.

“They look great” he whispered to Tyus who was sitting next to him.

“Yeah” Tyus replied and looked at Vanessa. She really looked beautiful. He knew that she would be even more beautiful on her wedding day next week.

The second one to go was Grace – and this time Mark couldn’t get his eyes of her, as well as Casey of Sara.

“Am I dreaming?” Casey asked Mark.

“I don’t know but I’m not” he replied and one more time looked at Grace. He noticed that he winked her eye to Ben. She really was happy to see her brother standing at the altar waiting for his future wife. Mark also noticed that for a moment Ben was smiling at Maria as if thanking her for letting him do that. Maria hugged Benjy and smiled at the man who was sitting next to her.

“Who the hell is that?” asked Mark.

“I don’t know” Ben replied “But I have a very good feeling” he smiled and looked at the door where Meg was supposed to appear any moment. But unfortunately Ben had to wait for her a few moments since Hank decided to go through a very serious conversation with his daughter. He started with reminding her that she looked beautiful.

“Thanks dad” she smiled.

“Meg, sweetheart, I want you to know something…”

“Dad, please”

“Look, I know that the only thing you wanna do right now is to run straight into Ben’s arms and marry him but since I’m the father who is loosing his daughter…”

“Dad, you’re not loosing me” she objected.

“I know, I know. Maybe theoretically not but practically yes”

“What do you mean?”

“Well, of course you will still be my daughter but you will have a completely new life – you will have a husband and who knows, maybe someday your own children. And as much as I feel sorry about giving you away, I know that that’s the way it’s supposed to be. I know that you love Ben and I know that he loves you. And when two people love each other like you do, there’s no such thing in the world which would stop them from being together and building a life together. I know that sweetie – it should be like this. But I just want you to know that no matter what happens, even if you have a dozen of your own children, you will always be my little girl and I’ll always be there for you”

“Dad” Meg started rubbing tears from her cheeks “I love you” Hank came closer and gave her a hug. He knew that in a few minutes there would be another arms waiting for her.

“So, let’s start this show, shall we?” Hank gave Meg his arm.

“Yes” she smiled and took his arm. Hank opened the door to the chapel. The orchestra started playing and Ben immediately shifted his sight on the door. And what, or rather who he saw there, was even more breath taking that he had ever imagined. She looked absolutely and incredibly beautiful. He had never seen such a sight in his entire life. She looked like an angel sent straight from Heaven and he prayed to God that this would not turn out to be just a dream…

But it wasn’t a dream. She was there smiling at him so beautifully. Hank started slowly leading Meg towards the altar. Ben felt excitement in every single muscle when he saw Meg coming closer and closer to him. He couldn’t hide his grin, his face was telling absolutely everything about how he felt.

Meg wanted to pull away from her father and run to Ben, but she had to control her emotions if she didn’t want to feel ashamed of herself later. Although, I’m sure that everyone would forgive her if she did that, knowing how much she and Ben had gone through.

When she finally made it to the altar and saw Ben reaching his hand for her, she felt that her heart was going to jump out of her chest. Hank slowly let go of her and turned to Ben:

“You take good care of her” Hank kissed her forehead.

“I will. I promise” Ben answered and took Meg’s hand from Hank. A gentle thrill went all over her spine. And when Ben smiled so wonderfully, she felt that she was going to melt down right this second. She came closer to the altar still looking at Ben’s handsome face. He squeezed her hand gently and smiled even more wonderfully than a minute ago (as if it was possible). Antonio started the ceremony:

“We have gathered here today to join these two people with a holy sacrament of marriage” Antonio looked at Ben and Meg and smiled. Unfortunately they couldn’t smile more than they already were. Antonio opened the Holy Bible and started reading.

Ben and Meg kept listening, still holding hands and smiling at each other. Antonio couldn’t stop smiling either – he knew how much the couple had gone through and he was glad that they had finally found their way to each other. It was an honor for him to perform the ceremony of their wedding.

Fortunately this time there was no one to object and everything went smoothly. Even Carmen was behaving herself and didn’t bring a gun with her.

When Antonio finished the official part, he turned to the people gathered:

“From what I’ve heard Ben and Meg have prepared their own vows so let them speak” he looked at Ben and Meg and smiled. The crowd was excited, everyone was waiting for the most important part of the ceremony.

Ben took the ring from Mark and looked at the woman he loved so much.

“Meg” he started “Dorothy” Meg felt a thrill as she heard that name “I was thinking the whole night what I was going to say to you but let me tell you that my words even in half wouldn’t express what I’m feeling right now. Because I’m a completely different man when I’m with you… I am a completely different man because of you. You’ve changed me… I was wondering if my life had a sense. I thought not but then you came along and you showed me that it had. I didn’t believe that and I kept pushing you away and hurting you. But you were too strong for that, you had too much faith in me, you cared too much to give up, to just let go. I was afraid of getting hurt again but you showed me that I shouldn’t be because you were by my side. I didn’t see it but now I do. I didn’t believe in love but now I do. You’ve brought the faith into my life. Now I do see how I’ve been blessed. And everyday I thank God for pushing you into my life. Because now you are everything that I am – my world, my heart, my soul. I am nothing without you and your love. Without your smile, warm words, kisses. Without your touch, a spark in your eye and all the gladness you’ve brought into my life. I am grateful for each second with you. You are my life. If I didn’t have you, I wouldn’t have a life either. I love you Dorothy from Kansas and I will honor and cherish you for the rest of my life and beyond.” Ben looked into Meg’s eyes, they were full of tears, as well as her cheeks. He took the tissue from his pocket and gently started rubbing the tears from her face. Then finally he took her hand, kissed it and placed the ring on Meg’s finger “Take this ring as a sign of my love and fidelity. In the name of the Father, of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen”

Maria looked at Ben and remembered how he was putting the ring of her finger. In this chapel. But she knew that since Ben meet Meg, he never was her husband anymore. And after everything Ben said to Meg, she also realized that what Ben and her had shared wasn’t even as half as strong as what he had with Meg.

Ben slowly let go of Meg’s hand and let her turn to Sara to take the ring. When she did that, she looked at Ben with those sweet, innocent eyes he loved so much. Once again she rubbed a tear rolling on her cheek and started talking:

“After everything you said I don’t think that I can put it more wonderful than you did but I do want you and everyone else to know how much you mean to me” she stopped and for a moment she kept staring at Ben “During my whole life, every single night in Ludlow, I was dreaming about my knight in shiny armor. And every single night I kept wondering if I was ever going to be happy, I mean really happy. If I was going to have anyone to share my life and my love with. And during one of those nights I sat by my computer and I meet mysterious S.B. And I knew… I knew that there was someone, someone I Just needed to find. And I knew I wasn’t wrong. That’s why I left everything and came to Sunset Beach in search for the man of my dreams. And let me tell you – this was the smartest decision in my entire life. Because I found you. And you are making all my dreams come true. You are making me feel so important, so special, so loved. And I know that there is no one else in the entire world who would make me feel the way that you make me feel. There is only one person I open my heart for, only one person I give my soul to, only one person I completely give myself to – you. You are my soul mate, Ben. You complete me. I love you, I love you more than I’ve ever loved anyone and I will love you for the rest of my life. And I promise that I will do anything in my power to make you happy and to honor you the way you deserve to be honored” she placed the ring on Ben’s finger “Take this ring as a sign of my love and my fidelity. In the name of the Father, of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen” her voice was trembling, her eyes were full of tears and only the blind wouldn’t notice how much emotion she put into saying all this.

“God, that was so sweet” Grace whispered to Vanessa.

“You’re telling me?” Vanessa laughed “But that’s what they call love, isn’t it?”

“I guess” Grace smiled and didn’t say anything more because apparently Antonio wanted to continue the ceremony.

“Well, these were certainly beautiful vows of love” he said “We can only see how strong and powerful love can be” Antonio stopped for a moment and observed people’s faces. All the bridesmaids had tears in their eyes. Joan was crying for real and Hank was only holding her, looking with pride at his daughter. Carmen didn’t look very happy but at least she didn’t start any trouble. Maria didn’t seem very upset or if she was, she was hiding it perfectly. She was smiling at Benjy and the man next to her. Benjy was very happy since it was the first real wedding he attended. Ricardo unfortunately couldn’t make it because he had gone to El Paso with Gabi. And if about those who couldn’t make it – fortunately Annie didn’t show her-pathetic-self in the chapel. But of course her aunt Bette was there, inveighing Meg and Ben for ruining her mascara but feeling extremely happy for both of them. Besides, she finally had a big SOMETHING to her column. She was sending smiles to everyone and especially to A.J., Sean and Emily who were sitting next to her. Cole and Caitlin were also there to see Ben and Meg getting married. There were also a lot of people Antonio didn’t know – especially Ben and Meg’s acquaintances from the Liberty Corporation, the Deep and the Java Web.

Antonio shifted his sight again at Ben and Meg. They were holding each other’s hands tight looking into each other’s eyes.

“Would you please stand up and join me in the blessing” Antonio asked and waited a moment until everyone was standing “Lord, hear our prayers and accept the gifts we offer for Ben and Meg. Today they have become one in the Holy sacrament of Marriage. May the mystery of Christ's unselfish love which we celebrate in this Eucharist increase their love for you and for each other. We ask you this through Christ, our Lord. Amen. You have declared your consent before the Church. May the Lord in His goodness strengthen your consent and fill you both with his blessing. What God has joined, no one may abide. Amen… So now with great pleasure I pronounce you husband and wife. You may kiss your bride, Ben“ Ben couldn’t have heard nicer words. He embraced her immediately and started kissing her with such passion that the others were surprised that it is allowed in the church. When Ben and Meg finally pulled away from each other, Antonio announced “I present for you for the first time… Actually the second” everyone started laughing “Anyway – I present Mr. and. Mrs. Ben Evans” When Ben and Meg heard those words they kissed each other once again and started walking towards the door, listening to the best wishes from everybody. When they finally made it and went out of the chapel, Meg screamed:

“Oh my God! We did it, Ben! We did it!”

“Yes we did”

“I love you!”

“I love you too” Ben enfolded her “I love you, I love you so much!”

“OK guys, you can stop now” they heard Casey’s voice “You have the entire reception for that. Your limo is waiting” he reminded them.

“Thanks” Ben answered and took Meg’s hand “Come on, we have to hurry up if we don’t wanna be the last ones on our own reception”

“All right, all right” Meg agreed and they went out of the church. When they got into the limo, Ben pulled out a bottle of champagne and two glasses. He handed one of them to Meg and said:

“Before we start celebrating our wedding with others, I’d like to drink our private toast” he opened the bottle and poured the champagne to the glasses “I… I said everything I wanted to say at the church but one more time I’ll repeat it so that you can finally get sick of hearing it”

“Never” she smiled.

“So, I just want you to know that today is the happiest day of my life and the first day of the rest of our lives, right?” he smiled “From now on we’re starting our life together and I promise you that we will be the happiest people in the world”

‘I already am the happiest woman in the world” she said and looked into Ben’s eyes “I love you”

“I love you too, Meg Evans. And I always will” he answered “So – to us and to our love and to the rest of our lives” he lifted the glass. So did Meg.

“Cheers” she replied and they drank the champagne still looking into each other’s eyes and smiling at each other. Then she nestled into his arms and heard him whispering:

“You know, I could stay like this forever”

“That would be wonderful but we have a reception to attend. OURS for that matter”

“I know, I know” he smiled and kissed her gently.

“But don’t forget that the reception is going to end, sometime”

“Oh, I’m looking forward to that” he looked at her meaningfully and made her blush. Once again he kissed her and whispered those three little words.

In a country churchyard
There’s a preacher with his people
Gathered all around
To join a man and a woman

Spring is here and turtledoves
Are singing from the steeple
Bees are in the flowers
Growing in the graveyard

And over the hill
Where the river meets the mill
A lovely girl is coming down
To give her hand upon her wedding day

Dressed in simple white
And wearing flowers in her hair
Music as she walks slowly to the altar
And picking up his Bible then
The preacher turns towards her
“Will you take this man
To be your wedded husband
To honor and love
In the eyes of God above
Now let the people sing with me
These words to live forever in your heart

Let your love shine on
For we are the starts in the sky
Let your love shine strong
Until the day you fly away”

Many years have fallen
On that golden country morning
The graveyard’s overgrown
The church it lies in ruins

Ivy on the walls and ravens
Wheeling round above me
As I made my way towards
The last remaining headstone

I fell to my knees
Read the lines beneath the leaves
And suddenly it seemed to me
I heard the words
Like singing in the trees

Let your love shine on
For we are the stars in the sky
Let your love shine strong
Until the day you fly away

Chapter 25

“Are you having a good time?” asked Ben gently kissing Meg’s forehead.

“How can you even ask me that? I’ve never had better time in my entire life” she smiled and passionately kissed his lips. Their wedding reception was going absolutely perfectly and everyone was having a great time.

“So, are your dreams coming true?”

“It’s even better than that”

“Really?”

“Yes, because now I know that nothing will stand in the way of our future together. Ben, we really are married this time”

“Yes we are” Ben smiled “And you’d better get used to it Mrs. Evans”

“Mrs. Evans, Meg Evans, Megan Cummings Evans” Meg started repeating her new surname “Doesn’t that sound wonderfully?”

“It does to me” Ben took her hand and kissed it “But on the other hand, you’ve been Mrs. Evans to me since our wedding last year. I promised to love you forever then and I have loved you and I always will, no matter what. I’ll never let you doubt in me again”

“I have never doubted you, Ben. I think that somewhere deep inside I’ve always known that you loved me but I also knew that sometimes it was just very hard for you”

“Hey, let’s not talk about the past” he stroked her hair “You asked me that yourself, remember?”

“How could I ever forget?”

“You told me that we should forget about the painful moments in my life and focus on the future. The future we’re going to share with each other. The future we’re both going to enjoy very much. I promise you”

“Well, I can’t wait”

“Me either. And I promise you that you will never be sorry that you had so much faith in me from the beginning”

“How could I ever be sorry about that, Ben. I knew that believing in you was the right thing to do”

“Yeah. Especially that I was doing everything to make you change your mind about me” he sighed.

“But I knew who you were from the beginning. I knew that you were a wonderful, loving, caring, compassionate man. the man I fell in love with”

“And I couldn’t believe that I was so blessed. I couldn’t believe that someone would actually care about the dark, mysterious Ben Evans”

“You weren’t dark, Ben. You were just in very much pain. And I knew that if someone would take that pain away from you, you would be able to show your emotions again, to stop gathering everything inside yourself”

“And there was someone to take my pain away. Someone very special – young lady from Kansas who put all her trust in me. Meg, I’ll never forget what you did for me. Thank you. Thank you for finding the hidden me”

“And I thank you for making me realize how empty my life was without love. The love you gave me”

“And I will keep giving you my love for the rest of my life until you have no place to put it”:

“Oh, believe me, I will always find a place for your love”

“And” Ben continued “I will keep telling you that I love you until you get sick of hearing it”

“Never” she answered and once again let him wrap his arms around her, feeling his warmth as he started kissing her gently. They were interrupted by Casey:

“Hey guys, it’s time for toasts” he smiled “And then you’ll be able to come back to what you were doing” Ben and Meg laughed.

“Ready?” Ben turned to Meg.

“As long as you are” she smiled and Casey led them to the middle of the room where everyone else was waiting.

“We thought that you had already eloped” Grace laughed.

“Oh, we would love to” Ben looked meaningfully at Meg “But unfortunately our nosy guests wouldn’t let us” he added with smile and everybody started laughing. Casey took the bottle of the best champagne and told everyone to take their glasses. He handed the bottle to Ben and Meg.

“Mr. and Mrs. Evans, that’s your part”

“Thanks Casey” Ben took the bottle from Casey and together with Meg they opened it. Ben poured the champagne to Meg’s glass and started pouring it to everyone else.

“Remember that everyone can add some wishes on one’s own” Casey reminded “But first let the best men speak” Casey turned to Mark. He lifted his glass.

“So, we all know how hard it was for Ben and Meg to finally find a way to each other. May all the tearful days from the past change into the sunny ones in the future”

“May your marriage be as happy as the first day of it is” Sara wished “And may it be full of trust and understanding” Sara knew that this was very important in a relationship… Everyone took the first sip of the champagne.

“OK, OK” Grace smiled “I want to say something” everyone started looking at her “Well, I’ve been in this from the very beginning. I mean, even before Ben and Meg meet. That’s why I know how important it was for Ben to meet someone who cared about him the way she did. And although he didn’t want to admit it, he had loved her since they meet over the Internet. So may your love grow stronger every day”

“And bring us the little ones” Joan added and everyone started laughing.

‘Mom!” Meg blushed. Ben smiled.

“Why? Don’t you like that idea sweetheart?”

“Oh, I do. I would just appreciate not talking about it in front of the crowd”

“All right” Hank cut this sweet conversation “Since it’s my daughter who got married today, I think I should say something” Hank stopped for a moment, looked at Ben and Meg and continued “Well, I just hope that my little girl will find the happiness she deserves to find and that life will make up for all the days and nights full of pain for both them”

“I’m sure it will” Vanessa added “We’ll make sure of that”

“And I will make sure that my beautiful wife will have everything she deserves to have” Ben said and looked lovingly into Meg’s eyed “I will make sure that every second of your life is a joy to you and I will never let you forget how important and how special you are to me and how much I love you. I will make sure that you will feel loved and cherished every single second of your life”

“I already feel loved” she said through tears.

“So you will feel more and more loved every day for the rest of our lives. I promise”

“And I promise that I will try as much as I can to prove how much I love you and how proud I am to be your wife”

“No” he objected “I am the one who is proud to have a wife like you. I love you Meg Evans”

“So to the bride and groom” Mark lifted the glass and everyone started drinking the champagne. Ben and Meg kissed. They heard very soft music playing.

“Mrs. Evans, may I have this dance?”

“Yes” she smiled and let him put her glass away. He gently took her hand. Everyone else edged away giving them some space to dance. Meg gently put her one hand on Ben’s neck and gave Ben the second one. He put his hand around her waist.

“So, I guess this is our firs dance as husband and wife” he smiled “First of many. I promise”

“I love you Ben. And thank you for this wonderful day. Thank you for making me so happy”

“You know that making you happy makes me happy” he smiled and kissed her “I love you, Meg… Dorothy… or whatever your real name is”

“I love you too. I love you so much that sometimes it scares me”

“Don’t worry. There is nothing to be afraid of” he whispered letting her nestle into his arms, holding her close to his heart.

I do swear that I’ll always be there
I’d give anything and everything and I will always care
Through weakness and strength, happiness and sorrow
For better, for worse
I will love you with every beat of my heart

From this moment life has begun
From this moment you are the one
Right beside you is where I belong
From this moment on

From this moment I have been blessed
I live only for your happiness
And for your love I’d give my last breath
From this moment on

I give my hand to you with all my heart
I can’t wait to live my life with you
I can’t wait to start
You and I will never be apart
My dreams came true because of you

From this moment as long as I live
I will love you, I promise you this
There is nothing I wouldn’t give
From this moment on

You’re the reason I believe in love
And you’re the answer to my prayers from up above
All we need is just the two of us
My dreams came true because of you

From this moment as long as I live
I will love you, I promise you this
There is nothing I wouldn’t give
From this moment
I will love you as long as I live
From this moment on

“I am so proud of you” Grace smiled “Both of you” she added and hugged her brother and her new sister in law “Congratulations!!!”

“Thanks” Ben answered.

“So, how do you like being married woman, Meg?”

“I couldn’t be better” she answered and kisses Ben’s cheek “Thanks to your brother”

“I know, I know. He is amazing”

“You don’t have to tell me” Meg replied and grinned. But soon the grin disappeared as she saw Maria coming closer. Benjy was with her, as well as the mysterious man who had sat next to her at the church. Although Maria had given meg her blessing, meg still didn’t feel very comfortable in her company.

“Hi” Maria greeted Ben and Meg” Congratulations”

“Thank you, Maria” Meg answered.

“It was a beautiful wedding” Maria continued “I am happy for you two. Really. And I hope that you will be as happy as you deserve to be”

“Thank you. I really appreciate it” Meg smiled and gave Maria a hug.

“Yeah, thanks” said Ben and turned to Benjy “So, how did you like the wedding, young man?”

“It was great uncle Ben” Benjy replied and turned to the bride “You look very nice, aunt Meg”

“Oh, thank you sweetheart. You look very handsome yourself” Meg smiled through tears and gave Benjy a hug. Then she looked at Maria “I really appreciate you being here”

“I wouldn’t miss it for the world. I mean, the whole town was waiting for your wedding…” Maria stopped for a moment “Oh, and this is Ross” she pointed the man next to her “He is a friend of mine”

“Yeah” he replied “My daughter Lisa is in one class with Benjy”

“Oh, nice to meet you” Ben said and shook hands with Ross.

“Congratulations” Ross said and kissed Meg’s hand.

“Thanks” she replied and smiled. Like Ben, she also had a good feeling about Ross.

Chapter 26

“Looks like the part is finally over” said Ben looking around. Indeed, most of the guests were already gone. Ben gently kissed Meg’s ear “What would you say if we went home right tow?”

“I would say that this is a wonderful idea” she grinned.

“So I guess we should say goodbye to our guests”

“You mean to what’s left of our guests”

“Yes” Ben smiled and went to Mark and Grace.

“Hey guys. Listen, Meg and I are going home right now”

“Uuuu” Grace raved and Ben blushed.

“Very funny” he said and turned to Mark “Anyway, you just take care of her, OK?”

“I will. And you enjoy your wedding night”

“Oh, we will” Ben smiled and came back to Meg “Looks like we are free to go”

“Oh, that’s wonderful” she answered and they went to the limo. After about fifteen minutes they reached the house. They thanked the driver and got off.

“So, here we are” Ben said, took Meg’s hand and led her to the door. He opened it but didn’t let her in. he lifted her up instead and carried her inside the house. He put her down on the floor but only for a moment to lock the door. Then he lifted her up again carried her to the bedroom, experiencing some trouble with it. When he finally put her down in the bedroom, he whispered “Welcome home, Mrs. Evans” he smiled and kissed her.

“It’s good to be home again”

“And it’s good to have you back home again. This room and this bed were so empty without you”

“Well, now I’m here to fill the space” she smiled and pulled him closer for a passionate kiss.

“Oh, I think that I might like this space – filling” he grinned and looked into her eyes “I am really glad that you are finally here, where you belong”

“I belong with you. And no matter where I am, as long as I’m with you, I am home. Because you always make me feel safe”

“Well, I will make you feel safe for the rest of your life. And I will always protect you from everything and will not let you suffer again. I promise”

“The only thing I want you to do is to love me”

“Then I can assure you that you will have what you want. Because I will never let you forget how much I love you. You’ll see, you’ll get tired of me reminding you this.

“I will never get tired of you telling me that you love me. You can tell me this anytime”

“How about now?” he smiled.

“Now sounds perfect” she answered and let him wrap his arms around her.

“Well, then – I love you. I love you! I love you!” he started screaming and enfolded her, lifting her up from the floor. But unfortunately the dress was hooked on the cupboard and Ben wasn’t able to hold Meg in his arms anymore. They both fell on the floor.

“I told you you would have problems with the dress” Meg laughed and let Ben help her in standing up.

“Then maybe we should get rid of it” Ben suggested and started kissing Meg’s neck.

“Well, that’s a great idea, as long as you are the one to do that”

“With pleasure’ he smiled and kissed her lips. He started caressing her neck and her back with his hands trying to find the buttons. He slowly started undoing the dress, patiently working on every single button. When he was done with that, he gently took off the upper part of the dress from Meg’s shoulders leaving her only in her bra. But he couldn’t be glad about dealing with the dress for a longer time since there was still the lower part left.

“What do you say now, boy scout?” she asked smiling “Maybe you need some help?”

“Are you having doubts about my talents?”

“Of course not” she answered “I just wanted to be helpful”

“Oh, you are every helpful just standing here, looking beautiful and attractive and letting me take off your clothes” he smiled and started kissing her neck and shoulders. He searched for the zipper and tried to unzip it but it wouldn’t move.

“Any problems, sweetie?” she asked grinning as Ben was tickling her back trying to deal with the zipper.

“No, everything is under control” he replied and came back to his occupation. Finally, after a few minutes, he was done and the whole dress landed on the floor. He lifted Meg up, leaving the dress on the floor and carried her to bed. He gently placed her on the soft sheets and kissed her “You look absolutely beautiful. Well, like always” he added and kissed her again. He started untying his tie but suddenly he smiled and said “I don’t think I’ll manage on my own. Would you mind?” he looked at her meaningfully.

“I’ll be honored” she answered and lifted herself up. She sat on the bed and started unbuttoning Ben’s shirt. When she got rid of it, she started kissing his chest making him feel really blazing. He placed his hands on her shoulders, pulled her closer and started kissing her lips which were as thirsty as his. Still kissing her, he reached for the fly of her bra, took it off and threw it onto the floor. Later, they quickly dealt with the left parts of their wear. They just couldn’t get enough of each other’s touch and caress. Their lips and hands were penetrating each fragment of each other’s bodies giving them so much pleasure as they felt each other’s warmth. That night they experienced so passionate love making that they had never thought that being so close together was possible.

My lover is a morning with the sun
Another day with her has just begun
She’s waking me up to see her world
My lover is the light

My lover is a chance to play the fool
To shake a lot of trees and break the rules
She’s bringing me back the boy inside
My lover gives me time

And all through the days there are so many ways to love her
It’s easy to do when the heart and the soul are true

My lover has the meaning of success
She’s telling me that I can be the best
But if I should fail at least I’ve tried
My lover has it right

And all through the days there are so many ways to love her
It’s easy to do when the heart and the soul are true

My lover is a dancer in the dark
Whispering the secrets in her heart
She’s opening up to my desire
My lover in the night

She is the morning sun
She’s the one
Bringing me back the boy inside
My lover in the night
My lover is the light
My lover has it right
My lover is my life

***

The next morning Meg was woken up by a gentle sunbeam shining through the whole room as if knowing that it had a reason to shine.

She reached for Ben but when she finally opened her eyes, she found out that he wasn’t in bed by her side. For a moment she got frightened that she was back in her room at Surf – Central and marrying Ben was just a dream. But when she looked around, she realized that she was in Ben’s bedroom… in HER bedroom… in HER bed. But where was HER husband?

Soon, she was going to find out as Ben appeared at the door holding a tray in his hands.

“Good morning, sleeping beauty” he said and leaned to kiss her “You look really beautiful as my wife”

“Ben, what are you doing?” she pointed the tray.

“Well, since it’s our first breakfast as husband and wife, I thought that it should be special. So I decided to prepare something on my own. I hope you’ll like it”

“I already like it” she smiled and kissed Ben “Come here” she pointed the space next to her “The bed is empty without you” Ben put the tray on the cupboard and sat comfortably next to Meg. He let her rest peacefully on his chest. He took the tray and placed it on his legs. He looked at Meg and suddenly forgetting about the breakfast, he started kissing her passionately as if he was afraid that she would disappear. After a second, he felt that he was hot, but not only because of Meg in his bed. He realized that the coffee he had prepared was now occupying a space on the sheets. Actually, everything was already on the sheets.

“Well, so much for our breakfast” Meg laughed “It was delicious”

“Oh, you bet it was” he answered and started kissing her again “I know I’ve told you that before but I LOVE YOU”

“I LOVE YOU TOO” she answered and let him embrace her. And as she felt his strong, loving arms around her, she knew that there was no other place in the world she would rather be in.

THE END

BACK
