Five talented guys named Shane, Mark, Kian, Nicky, and Bryan make up Westlife. Westlife was brought together in 1998 when Boyzone's manager, Louis Walsh, and Boyzone member Ronan Keating came together to manage a new Irish pop group. The group was originally known as IOU, then later as Westside. However, the group changed their name from Westside to Westlife in early 1999 when it was discovered that a number of bands shared the same name.
Westlife went on to release their first single "Swear It Again" from their debut CD "WESTLIFE" which is a soft ballad that went straight to the top of the British and Irish charts. With their soulful harmonies and powerful voices, it looks like Westlife has a big future in the world of pop. Hopefully, Westlife will bring their talented voices to the US soon, so keep your eyes and ears out for them to become the next successful boy group in the U.S.!
