I love being the coach for these girls...they have came a long way since the beginning of 2001! This club started when Laura ( a gymnast) and I (a dancer) decided to combine our skills and develop a new cheerleading team at our school. We had our first try-outs at the school and more than 70 girls showed up! Hard decision, but the naturals shined through and there was our first club team. We began practicing in the school gym, until the support from the teachers and staff was lost. We didn't give up and decided to move our location to a larger facility with more freedom as well. We began with the simple elevators/thigh stands and this was the foundation of the Cobourg Angel All-Stars. We appeared in many events in Cobourg including mall performance, several newspaper sightings, town hall performances and annual award presentations. I knew they were ready for the next step and planned for them to compete in the Wonderland Competition. With no expectations going into this competition, we were pleasently surprised with a 3rd place finishing! Recently we have opened a new program at our club...the junior team. We are thrilled to teach such eager girls with such amazing potential in this sport. We are now in intensive training for the upcoming competitive season! E've been part of this team since the very start! our coach is a drill sargent, but I love cheerleading! My favorite is basket tosses, its craziness being thrown so damn high!! It's an amazing rush! But even though she drills us its good for us, and its really hard because you have to squeeze your bum really really hard.hahaha!
