The beach is not completely organised although there are some sunbeds and umbrellas for rent during the tourist season. The distance to the harbour of Patitiri is one kilometer. The beach of Roussom Gialos consists of sand and small white pebbles and its waters are clear and have a greenish colour. The beach of Roussom Gialos lies protected from the winds and there are never really high waves.

In the Turkish period Roussom Gialos was the port where the wine of Alonissos was traded and where taxes had to be paid. The name Roussom therefore has its origins in the word "Rsum", which means "tax" in Turkish.
