You step into the opera house and marvel at the size of it. A few people are moving through the place, but for the most part, it is empty. Sounds of rehearsal filter through the opera, and you wince at a flat note sung by a shrill voice. You walk through the opera and find your way to the dressing rooms. Most have music coming from them, though as you walk to the end of the hallway, you feel colder and the music is fading.
The last door of the hallway is closed, but the room is silent. You start to open it and you notice that the doorknob is covered in dust, as if no one has used this room in such a long time. You turn it and walk inside.
The interior of the room is much different. It is well lit and clean. A man's black cloak hangs on a hook near the door, and a dress lies draped over the back of a chair. There is a note on the desk. Curious, you pick it up and begin to read.
"Welcome stranger."
You feel a presence behind you and before you can turn, there is a sharp pain in your neck, and you slip into unconsciousness.
You awake in a study of sorts, on a couch. There is no one else in the room with you, however there is a note with your name on it next to you. Looking around fearfully, you open the letter.
"I'm glad you are awake. You are one of the few who have the honor of seeing Erik's home and leaving, alive. You may visit about, and then you may leave. Though when you venture out of the house, beware of the secret passages. There are many of them leading from this house to the outside. Please, enjoy your stay. We shall not harm you stranger."
