Priscilla Garita portrays Gabi Martinez, a young girl who uses her beauty to get what she wants
out of life and at Sunset Beach. Born in New York and raised in Ansonia, Connecticut, Garita
began acting when she moved back to New York City in 1992. She landed a role as an extra on
One Life to Live and has also appeared in All My Children and As the World Turns. Her
theater background includes roles as Cleopatra in "Pentecost" at the Yale Repertory Theatre and
Cecilia in "Yepeto" for the Puerto Rican Traveling Theatre. In January 1997, she completed her
first film, "Bright Nights, Dark Days."
Of Costa Rican heritage, Garita lived in Costa Rica for six months when she was 12 years old.
She received a Bachelor of Science in marketing from the University of Connecticut and attended
William Esper Studios for acting.
When she's not working, she enjoys playing and watching sports, and spending time with her
seven nieces and nephews. She is also involved in the charities Equity Fights AIDS and Eastern
Paralyzed Veterans. Her birthday is March 15.
