— Operation ~ Chattanooga Chow Chow— Meet Lucky Red  She has a wonderful story to tell you! It seems that a volunteer put out a plea for help with a red chow on death row! Yes death row! This beautiful dog was about to be put to sleep. However, lucky for her (hence the name Lucky Red) there is a volunteer who is up at 3:am like me, so she gets a reply from a breeder who runs a chow rescue in Texas. Seems her husband was at a dog show in Chattanooga. So I e-mailed pictures - and guess what! They want her!!! (not for breeding, she'll be spayed and adopted!!!) So, we get the baby out of the kill shelter and take her over to foster mom Rosalinds house. If she was a boy, I would have named her Lazurus(she stinketh) . Sooo... Sunday I'm driving her freshly clean self to Chattanooga to hook up with the husband who is driving her to Texas. And the capper is - His dog won best of show!!!!!! She's gonna be riding with a champion!! The hoi polloi, so to speak - the 400's, the ritzy set. Is that a riot?? Yesterday on death row, today a bright future.
