Greetings to all. A special thanks to Dr Vern Kraus and his wife Ruby for being our guests this past Sunday. Dr Kraus is a professor of special education at Lee University in Cleveland, Tennessee. Thanks also to Rev David Jordan for visiting on our site this week. We had a tremendous service yesterday. Those in attendance reported feeling the Spirit of God as they came through the doors. The Spirit also issued a call for boldness in proclaiming our message of salvation.
The Apostle Paul told his trusted friend Timothy, ”This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, Traitors, heady, high minded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: … Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.”
Not a word about terrorists, crime, war, or calamities; all of these perils come directly from the heart of man. Jesus refused to commit Himself to the hands of man for He knew man’s heart. As His disciples, we should embark upon the same course. Our society conditions the young to fear standing out or standing alone. We must not give in to such fears. This spirit does not come from God. God has given us a sound mind and all things that pertain to life and godliness. These things equip the Christian’s heart to stand against the evils of our present society. Much has been said of late about what Jesus would do (wwjd) . Of course, a great deal of such talk was nothing more than an ad campaign for Christian themed merchandise. However, I think one thing is certain. Jesus would definitely stand out.
