Tuesday.

In the doctor’s again last night for the second round of vaccinations. Received the news that we were looking for. That is, that the aches and pains, dizziness and low fevers that we have had has nothing to do with the vaccinations and is just a bug that is currently going around.

Here’s the cost of the vaccinations:

  • Hep A and B 21.01.2003 Eur47
  • Rabies HDCV0.1ml ID 21.01.2003 Eur25
  • Typhoid Vaccine 21.01.2003 Eur31
  • Yellow Fever Vaccine 21.01.2003 Eur38
  • Consultation 21.01.2003 Eur35
  • Rabies HDCV0.1ml ID 27.01.2003 Eur25
  • Tetanus/Dyptheria Vaccine 27.01.2003 Eur
  • Consultation 27.01.2003 Eur35

Conor, do you remember the story that you told me about the girl falling off the Inca Trail on the way to Machu Picchu? Well we met the girls father! He was the doctor who gave us the jabs!!! Apparently she stood up too quickly and due to the lack of oxygen she got all woozy and slipped of the side of the trail!

S just organised spanish language classes and the teacher is Argentinian so this should be ideal. We start this Saturday and we are getting one class per week until we go. 9 classes should give me about enough to tell the taxi how to get to our hotel in Mexico city.

Also found an appropriate quotation today…

Security is mostly a superstition. It does not exist in nature, nor do the children of men as a whole experience it. Avoiding danger is no safer in the long run than outright exposure. Life is either a daring adventure, or nothing. ……Helen Keller
