What do you remember in 1969 & 1970? I remember Captain Brady & Commander Elliot the XO.Also electrical Chief Milam,boatswains Chief Trabor
who was great at organizing fishing trips on mike-boats.A great ships serviceman
named A.J. Thompson he ran the ships store & laundry.Another favorite was ships cook & baker McBride!
How about Audie Murphy westerns I used to show the crew on the mess deck! Remember "mid-rats' during the night watch? How about our two HELOS we
carried? I was fortunate enough to grab one of those free rides the "Airdales" gave out on a holiday
routine Sunday.
Does Sasebo,Yokosuka,Niigata or Subic Bay ring a bell? How about Koahsiung
Tiawan & Bangkok,Sattahip Thailand ? Oh yes,we cannot leave out Da Nang,Cua Viet,Vung
Tau,Cam Ron Bay Viet Nam! I guess the mission of the Catskill would not be complete if i didn't
mention her 20 MSL BOATS that she carried.Did anyone ever take his mattress out on the flight
deck over the water on the safety nets like I did on a holiday routine sunday?
