Kiwanis Park, east of Ken MacLeod Field.

  • Botanical Name: Prunus tomentosa
  • Drought Tolerant/Sun/Attracts Wildlife
  • Height & Spread: 2m x 2m
  • Form: upright spreading
  • Leaf: alternate; dull green; deeply veined; hairy; no fall colour
  • Flower: pink; in spring before leaves
  • Fruit: bright red cherry
  • Use: shrub border; birds love the fruit; attracts bees;
    good for eating and preserving
