Les Sherman Park, sw of soccer field.

  • Botanical Name: Cotoneaster lucidus
  • Drought Resistant/Sun/Attracts Wildlife
  • Height & Spread: 2m x 2m
  • Form: upright spreading
  • Leaf: alternate; small; dark green; shiny above and
    wooly beneath; orange-red fall colour
  • Flower: small inconspicuous
  • Fruit: red berry turns dark blue as matures
  • Problems: oyster scale; pear slugs; fireblight
  • Use: excellent hedge plant; fruit is eaten by birds
