Les Sherman Park, sw of soccer field.
- Botanical Name: Hippophae rhamnoides
- Drought Tolerant/Sun/Attracts Wildlife
- Height & Spread: 4m x 3m
- Form: upright spreading; leggy; suckers
- Leaf: alternate; linear; grey
- Bark: stems and side shoots end in sharp spines
- Flower: not showy; male and female trees, both are needed for
fruit production(1 male to 7 female)
- Fruit: small, yellow-orange berries form densely on fruiting shoots
- Use: shrub border; good for stabilizing slopes; fruit is eaten by birds
and is good for jelly
