Copper Pass

Our intended goal was to go to Stiletto Lake by going over the saddle above the Early Winter Spires versus hiking on the Stiletto Peak Trail, but due to the daylight hours given at this season, we changed it to Copper Pass.  The weather was a mixture of rain, sleet, and snow when hiking up to our campsite.  There were various types of mushrooms growing that only a mushroom connoisseur could identify.

Views around our campsite.  Can you spot our campsite in the above picture?  The next morning, we found snow dusted the area.

Nevertheless, we continued with the trip because we had come this far.  We climbed over the Early Winter Spires saddle and began making our own tracks over the beds of fall foliage.  In the valley, we encountered some adhoc weather - fog and a small blizzard.

The larches has not turned to yellow yet.

Animal signs were all over the place, but all we saw was ground squirrels scurrying about.

By the time we got back to the campsite, the day gave away to partial sunshine.
