Joy's mother was Fern Meierding, and here are some pictures and information about my family members with this rather unusual surname.

This is Joy's second great-grandmother, Katherine Meierding.  KATHERINE WAGONER was born October 1830 in Wohnmar Kur Hessen, Germany (Source: 1880 Indiana census of Allen County, Ft. Wayne, 418 Washington, Vol. 3, E.D. 43, Sheet 16, Line 27, Obituary Fort Wayne Journal-Gazette   December 4, 1916 ), and died December 3, 1916 in Fort Wayne, Allen, IN (Source: Obituary) . She married CHRISTIAN MEIERDING  CHRISTIAN MEIERDING was born Abt. 1835 in Prussia (Source: 1880 census gives children's father place of birth as Prussia.), and died September 14, 1878 in Fort Wayne, Allen, IN (Source: Death Record and Interment Record of Fort Wayne, Indiana Lutheran Churches, page 36, line 25)
