History

Her mother and father were both Science officers serving on a space station close to the Federation\Klingon\Romulan borders. She went to school on the space station until she was fourteen. A small conflict between the Klingons and the Federation resulted in an attack on the space station. In the rush to escape the attack, Julia was separated from her parents.

Whilst attempting to find her parents, she ran into a Klingon soldier who slashed the right side of her neck up to her temple. She fell to the ground and pretended to play dead until the soldier moved on. She then started to head towards the nearest shuttle bay hoping that she could get away on a shuttle.

Outside the base the Romulans had shown up to help the Federation and had begun beaming survivors off the station. Julia's life-sign were detected and she was beamed her aboard their medical vessel. They managed to seal the slash to her face, but the results left her with a scar.

Her right eye was beyond repair and after remove it, the Romulans replaced it with a cybernetic implant, which unlike her own was brown. When she reached a Federation medical facility it was discovered that they would be unable to remove the implant and replace it with a blue one.

In the days after the conflict attempts were made to find her parents, until their decapitated bodies were found in shuttle bay one. Julia was sent to live in an orphanage on Earth for the next two years.

At the age of sixteen, she got accepted into Starfleet Academy preparation programme, before attending the academy two years later. She graduated top of her class at age twenty four.

After graduating, she was assigned as a Tactical officer on board the U.S.S. Confederacy where she served for three years. She was then transferred as Chief Tactical officer to the U.S.S. Robert E. Lee where she served another three years.

Her last assignment was to take a heavy shuttle to investigate a wormhole that had appeared close to the Federation\Romulan border. This wormhole had also drawn the attention of the Klingons and Julia's shuttle was attacked.

In an attempt to evade the Klingons, she was accidentally pulled through the wormhole, ending up in the Andromeda-Cirrus galaxy where she encountered the USS Leviathan-A, which had been missing since the end of the Barien war.

The Klingon vessel was able to follow her and was then destroyed by the Leviathan. Having nowhere else to go, Oakenshield joined the crew of the Leviathan.

Ensign Oakenshield was killed when the runabout she was travelling aboard was destroyed by forces unknown. At the time the vessel was carrying a Ferengi prisoner back to Earth.

Personality

Her personality is warm despite losing both here parents at the age of fourteen. However the experience does give her an intense hatred for Klingons. She has learnt various Vulcan techniques so that she can exercise self-control when she needs to be civil in the presence of Klingons.

She is extremely friendly and likeable, but tends to avoid intimate relationships, although she knows she can't run forever. She likes Romulans, Pizza, and twenty-first century music called RAP.

She dislikes snobs, chocolate, and Klingons. She's very adventurous by nature. Her motivations in life are her friends, adventure, and a thirst to prove herself.

She's never been romantically involved.

Telepathy stemming from her Betazoid heritage. Advanced sight due to the transplant of her right eye on a Romulan medical vessel.

Hobbies

She likes to cook and play 3-d chess.
