Trek News, provided by TrekToday:
October 19, 2004-This is my last entry on this website, because I just can't keep it up. I've put alot of devotion into this website, I've tried to update every day I could, but I just never have time to anymore. I know this is sad, but I just can't keep up this website, I'm just too busy. I also don't have internet access where I live now so It's really hard for me to update regularly. I have had some trouble with the site ever since my PC crashed, because all my material for TrekSlip was on that (images, page headings, etc.). TrekSlip is almost a meaningless name, because, where are the Trek Slips? I have, like, five of them. Don't get me wrong, I'm still a Star Trek guy, but I also need to explore other interests. Maybe you'll find another website by me in the future....maybe not. No, seriously, I'll definitly have a new website in the near future, I don't know what it will be but I hope it will be better. Live long and prosper. This is TrekSlip, sighning off.
October 8, 2004-Tonight was the season premiere of Enterprise's season 4, and I almost missed it because I had a hectick day. Well anyway, as you may, or may not remember, T'Pol sent Maywether, and Reed down to San Fransisco and was attacked by two World War II planes. In this episode, the Nazis have taken over the eastern coast of the US. The crew, of course, thinks Archer is dead, but he isn't, and they find that out. The weirdest part in the episode was Daniels (the guy from the future who has a suit made out of power cords), who was completly screwed up, he was an old man, and a fetus at the same time (?). Silik returned in this episode, for the first time in a year. He was in the episode for about 6 seconds. Tucker and Maywether go to look for him, but are captured by Nazis. To be continued..... I give this episode 4 stars. It was good, but not great.
September 12, 2004-Hey, hey, hey. It's been exactly one month since I last updated. Just to let you know, this was not planned. I can't believe I finally updated. Can you? Neither can I. He he.....ha. Sorry, I'm in a goofy mood. I wached Star Trek V the Final Frontier on UPN today at noon (isn't that cool). TV guide channel insisted Enterprise was on. Also, Star Trek-Nemesis was on ShowTime today, but I only have basic cable (intolerable). Good thing I have the super-special DVD widescreen edition! If you have sent me an email, I will never get it. I had my AOL account cancelled due to the fact that I was moving my computor to a new location. I will let you all know when I am ready to recieve emails again. Be sure, if the email was important (new trek slips. etc), to resend it when I have my email back up. Untill then, live long and prosper!
August 12, 2004-Holy Cow! I haven't updated in over a month! Well, I probably won't be updating to often until the new TrekSlip computer office is set up. First thing I need to do is get the computer to the new location (to be done this weekend), then I need to get a new internet service (fingers crossed for cable), then I'm all set to start updating this site. Everthing should go as planned (unless my computer is as reliable as the Enterprises computers, but it's not, it's more). Well, see y'all soon. Live long and prosper.
June 30, 2004-Nothing big happening in Star Trek world, that I know of, except Star Trek-Generations the Directors Edition is coming out this September. It's rumoured to have deleted scenes including Captain Kirk.....skydiving!! Also, an alternate ending, which was taken out due to negative test audience rection. I think that there's a few more, but I don't know what they are. I am tired, so I will go to sleep now. Live long and.....Zzzzzzzzzzzzz. Mount Salaya, Spock! Climb Mount Salaya, and slay Duras with your Bat'leth. Zzzzzzzzzz.
June 28, 2004-Hi, I'm eating pizza and sitting at my computor and it's beautiful out (go figure). I was bored and decided to update my webpage (finally!). Oh, and I just finished my pizza. I know, I haven't updated in a while, but, that's life. I just got Ban-Dai's light-up USS Enterprise-E model kit. I must complement on the accuracy, they got every marking and design perfect. If this entry was in any way, shape, or form: dull, boring, depressing, dull, or depressing, or boring, or repetative, or dull, or boring, or repetative and/or likewise to a legal document, etc. Then, too stinkin' bad. THE END
June 6, 2004-Greetings! Did any of you see Harry Potter 3 this weekend? I know this has nothing to do with Star Trek, but we have to get off topic sometimes, right! (That wasn't a question) Well, I did. The theater was P-A-C-K-E-D!! Fourtunatly a friend got adavnce tickets from MovieTickets.com. So we got there early (as my friend said, "reserved tickets, not reserved seats!") and had to endure what seemed to be an hour of 'Fun Facts' about movies that probably not even half of the audience has even heard of. Better than staring at a blank screen anyway. Or sitting on the TV and watching the couch. But anyway, the movie was good, but a little fast. Try packing a book that whould take the average reader a total of 12 hours to read (not counting breaks) and squishing it down into 2.5 hours, that's what it was. I read (a few minutes ago) it made the most money on opening day (the first showing was at 12:30 in morning) than any other movie ever. It was a slight dissapointment (Like Star Wars Episode 1...kind of) but, it was pretty good overall. Now to Star Trek, er rather, TrekSlip. For a while I haven't added any bloopers to my blooper library, which hardly has anything in it as it is. I've been quite busy lately.(writing episode reviews, sleeping, going to school, music practice, eating, taking showers, going to the bathroom, blowing my nose, farting, burping, chewing gum, typing my daily activities for all the world to see, sneezing, coughing, yelling at my computor, inexplicably opening and closing the CD drive, etc.,) I hardly have time to bother going to Google to look for other peoples Star Trek Bloopers and stealing them. If you notice any Star Trek bloopers (otherwise known as slips) please for heavens sake e-mail me
! Live long, and prosper, already, for crying out loud!!
May 26, 2004-Tonight, was the climatic conclusion to Enterprise’s season 3. I can’t believe it was a year ago, that we were first introduced to the Xindi, in the season 2 finale entitled ‘The Expanse’. Tonights episode was called ‘Zero Hour’. Last week we left Enterprise attacking the Xindi weapon with it’s newly gained Xindi allies. But the weapon, and it’s Reptillian escorts escaped, and they are on their way to Earth. Archer, aboard the late Degra’s ship, is preparing to board the weapon when they catch up to it, with Lieutenant Reed. Meanwhile, Trip, back onboard Enterprise, is preparing to destroy a sphere, but the sphere builders create an anomaly around it, but they find a way to possibly destroy it. Back on Degra’s ship, Archer is leaving a meeting with Reed and the Xindi, Daniels bring Archer 7 years into the future to tell him that he can’t risk being killed or the United Federation of Planets won’t become what it’s supposed to be. The Reptillians and the Weapon come out of the vortex, and Degra’s ship soon follows. The Reptillians destroy a science research station, which looks suspiciously like the Midas Array from Star Trek:Voyager. Meanwhile, Enterprise enters the anomalies surrounding the sphere and fires a beam from their deflector. Dr Phlox informs the crew that they have to be in and out in 15 minutes. The Sphere builders board Enterprise, but Enterprise destroys the network of spheres and kills the sphere builders. Archer and party board the Weapon, and recieve a little assistance against the Reptillian ships from an old friend, Shran the Andorian. He seemed a little happy that Archer owed him (joke from the first season). Archer succesfully overloads the systems on the Weapon and get in a fight with the Reptillian Commander, who he blows up with an explosive charge (that’s gotta hurt!). The weapon blows up, and Captain Archer is reported dead. After a sad reunion of the crew, the Aquatics take Enterprise back to Earth. Enterprise hails Starfleet Command, but gets no response. Mayweather, and Reed take a shuttlepod down to San Fransisco, and are fired upon by World War II air craft. Meanwhile, at what seems to be a Nazi camp (the swastica kinda’ gives it away), Captain Archer is lying on a bed. A Nazi soldier askes if anyone recognizes the uniform that he’s wearing. A shrouded figure, walks into the light to reveal Hitler! Just kidding,it was the Reptillian Commander. To be continued.....next september!! I can’t wait! This episode makes Star Trek history as the most suspensful season cliffhanger (even beats the Next Generation episode, ‘Best of Both Worlds’). I wonder what will happen next season, the suspense is killing me! Arrrrrrrrrrrg. (He must have died while writing!) This was the best Enterprise this year, if not ever. I’ll have to give this episode a whopping FIVE STARS (folks we have a winner). I’ve never given an episode 5 stars yet! Next season, Enterprise will be on Fridays at 9:00 PM. Chances are I won’t do reviews next year, because I won’t have access to a comptor on Friday nights, and by the time I get a review posted, it will be a little old, if you know what I mean. Assuming, of course, I can get to a stinkin’ TV on Fridays. It’s amazing how much the show has changed since season 1. I really miss the atmosphere of the first two seasons, it was more settling in the Star Trek universe. Season 3 was a nice change, for the most part, but I hope they don’t dwell to long on the Xindi. You have to know how to use story arcs. A good example is the Dominion War arc from Deep Space Nine. What I’m saying is that I hope that the Xindi don’t get used next season. They were OK, but frankly I’m sick of em’. Now, I’ll stop blabberin. Live long and prosper.
May 19, 2004-Tonight's episode was called “Countdown”, and as usual, I will provide a plot summary: The shuttle pod containing the away team that went aboard a sphere returns with some data. Meanwhile, Hoshi is being forced by her captors (the Reptilians) to decode the activation sequence for The Weapon. Back on Enterprise Archer tries to get the Aquatics to help intercept The Weapon. The Aquatics eventually agree to help, but the Reptilians have broken the access codes, with the help of Hoshi, to activate The Weapon. The Enterprise and it’s Xindi allies successfully intercept the Reptilians, but the Sphere Builders create an anomaly and The Weapon gets past the attack and heads towards Earth, but the MACOs successfully save Hoshi, at the cot of Major Hayes’ life. Lieutenant Reed gets a group of MACO’s together to board The Weapon when they intercept it again, this time in the late Degra’s ship. Tune in next week, same Trek-time, same Trek-channel. I don’t have any comments on this episode, all I can say is that it was a good episode. The interior of the weapon was cool, with a oversized gyroscope at it’s command console. It was a very suspenseful episode, I actually thought Hoshi was going to die, but Major Hayes did. It was actually kind of predictable, he was the last one off the enemy ship (that spells ‘trouble’ on Star Trek), and...well, that's the only reason. I think he was supposed to be shot in the heart, but the plasma-bullet wound was kinda’ in the wrong spot (TREK SLIP!!!). I give this episode a 3.8 out of 5. Don’t miss the thrilling season finale (I hope it’s thrilling) next Wednesday, plus, tomorrow UPN will reveal the shows that will be returning next fall (keep your fingers crossed!!). Live long and prosper.
May 12, 2004-3 more episodes left in season 3. Tonights episode was ‘The Council’. We left our heros making their rendevouz with Degra. Degra tells Archer that the Sloth and the Aquatic Xindi are on their side but the Reptillians and the Insectoids will be harder to convince. Meanwhile, the Reptillian Commander is talking with a sphere builder, the sphere builder tells the Reptillian that he must make sure the weapon is launched at all costs. Enterprise arrives at the location of the Xindi council, but not before getting in a little skirmish with a Xindi Reptillian ship. Archer presents his evidence to the Xindi council, and appearantly convinces all, but the Insectoids. The Reptillians agree to have the launch of the weapon delayed. Later, Degra is in his quarters, when the Reptillian Commander enters. He has a little chat with Degra, blaming him forthe destruction of a Xindi Reptillian ship. He kills Degra with a knife and vows that he will find Degra’s wife and children and do the same. Archer is informed by Degra’s asisstant that Degra was killed. The Reptillians and Insectoids launch the weapon to destroy Earth, and Archer and the late Degra’s supporters pursue them. A small battle ensues, and the Reptillians capture Hoshi (in case you forgot, she’s Enterprise’s comm officer). The Weapon and it’s escorts fly into a rift of some sort and dissapear. To be continued next week..... This was a great episode, yet another Episode to be rated TV-14 (see ‘North Star’), but that did not contrbiute to how good the episode was. Archer mentions that he was sent to the principal’s office for passing notes when he was a wee lad in school, but I’m not sure how that came up. I must compliment the battle sequence, athough it was nothing like what was seen in a few Deep Space Nine episodes, namely ‘the Way of the Warrior’, and ‘What You Leave Behind...’, and a few more that I can’t think of, where there where literally dozens upon dozens of ships. But a good battle scene never the less. I remember at the beginning of the season I was hoping that Enterprise whould beat the crap out of the Xindi, now I find myself mournful over the death of Degra. I think the way this story arc is coming out, has alot to do with what Star Trek is all about. (I’m a poet, I didn’t know it) Star Trek is about people putting aside their differences and quarrels, and work together, and that’s kind of what’s happening now. In my opinion, this is turning out to be one of Star Trek’s best years, and this is one of Star Trek’s best episodes (in my opinion). This is a tough one to rate, I think I’ll give it a 4.8 out of 5. Not perfect, but pretty good. (of course, when one watches too much Mystery Science Theater 3000, they see modern Sci-Fi as really good, but I’m sure that’s not the case). Live long, and prosper.
May 5, 2004-Only 4 more episodes until the season finale. Tonight’s episode was “E2”, and as always I shall give the plot. We left Enterprise heading to the subspace corridor that Degra told them to go through, but, he warned them of an alien race that guards the corridor. They are about to cross through the corridor when they pick up a Starfleet ship. They discover that the Starfleet ship is a duplicate Enterprise!! The other Enterprise hails them and it’s captain, a half-human half-vulcan named Lorian, reveals that Enterprise will be sent 100 years into the past, and that Lorian and his crew are descendants of the Enterprise crew we all know. This is somewhat a rip-off of a Deep Space Nine episode when the Defiant goes to a planet in the Gamma Quadrant and finds descendants of the Defiant crew on the planet, but that’s a little off topic. So anyway, Lorian gives Archer schematics for a technology upgrades and assists in the installation (a rip-off of the Voyager series finale) so that Enterprise can go around the corridor and not be sent 100 years into the past. An older version of T’Pol, onboard the duplicate Enterprise, reveals that it’s too dangerous for Enterprise to go to warp using the technology upgrades (a whopping warp 6.5!!). Lorian gets ticked off and steals Enterprises warp coils (ahhhhhh, what’s with the stealing of warp coils all of a sudden, Archer stole some warp coils two weeks ago, now there being stolen from him!!!!) so that he can complete the mission on his own. Archer successfully gets them back (unethically I might add.......just kidding) and they decide to work together (wow, how long did that take, an average Pakled could’ve figured that out!!) to complete the mission. The duplicate Enterprise escorts Enterprise (writing this review is a very awkward task) to the subspace corridor and to their rendevouz with Degra. Enterprise passes through the corridor, but the duplicate doesn't follow. They wait for 5 hours and the duplicate still doesn't appear. Degra arrives at Enterprises location and docks on to Enterprise. To be continued.... I don’t have much to say about this episode (that means that there’s no good criticisms), except for (hold your breath) it was one of the most creative and uncreative episodes so far. It was creative and uncreative because it was just a whole bunch of previously used story elements combined together. This episode can brag that it’s the first Star Trek episode to acknowledge Newton’s Law of Motion “An object in motion stays in motion, and an object at rest stays at rest, unless acted upon by an outside force”. Get this: usually, when the Enterprise’s (Defiant’s, Voyager’s, etc.) engines fail, the ship comes to a complete stop, but in space, there is no force acting against the motion of the ship. In this episode, Enterprise is being carried at warp speed on the tractor beam of the duplicate Enterprise and is released and continued at the same speed. Before I get too worked up in the science of it all, I’ll conclude my review. This episode gets a 4.3 out of 5, could’ve been better, but over all, pretty good. I won’t be able to update for a while (with the exception of a weekly review) so, just wanted to let you know. Live long, and prosper.
April 29, 2004-I would have posted this yesterday but this ‘convenient’ (I’m being sarcastic, incase you couldn’t tell) technology known as “Error 404, can’t load web page editor for some unacceptable reason like Grandpa’ Bob knows more about HTML than we do!!” Ok, enough ranting, only 5 more episodes remaining until the thrilling (I hope) season (hopefully not series) finale. Tonight's episode was titled “The Forgotten”, and this episode is one not to be forgotten. This episode was touching as well as thrilling. Last week we left Enterprise heading at warp speed (with the unethically taken warp coil) to a meeting with the Xindi Degra. Enterprise and Degra’s Ship dock together and Degra, along with a Xindi Sloth ask Archer to show evidence that the Sphere Builders intend to turn our universe into a place habitable to them. They also show Degra some Xindi Reptilians that went back in time to Earth (“Carpenter Street”) to create a bio-weapon. Archer finally convinces Degra that he is telling the truth. Just at that time a Xindi Reptilian ship drops out of warp, and orders Degra to move his ship clear of Enterprise. Degra refuses, and decides to side with Archer. Degra’s ship attacks the Reptilian vessel and a small battle brews. Degra destroys the Reptilian ship saying “They would have informed the [Xindi] Council of our alliance”. Degra tells Archer of a subspace corridor in which he can get to the Xindi council chambers to present his evidence. Degra also says that he will meet Enterprise there in three days. (Wow! ‘there’ is an anagram of ‘three’) To be continued....... I don’t have my usual smart alec comments this week (too tired). Just to tell you, I missed a few slight details in the plot summary (so sue me), there was a few parts when Trip flipped out on Degra because the Xindi probe killed his sister. There was also a part when some injector assembly or something blew up, but it seemed to be a ‘time taker’, as I like to call em’. I give this episode a 4 out of 5, not bad, but the ideal score is 4.5. I hope you enjoyed this review as much as I enjoyed writing it (BAH!! Just kidding) Live long, and don’t use Trellium D if your a Vulcan cause’ it damages your neural pathways, and what not.
April 21, 2004-Only 6 more episodes left in Enterprise's 3rd season. Tonight's episode was entitled "Damage". The "Previously on Enterprise..." scenes actually fit with the episode (faint). Here's the plot (do I never not post the plot?)-Enterprise is badly damaged after a Xindi attack in the previous episode. Miraculously, the Xindi ships retreat. Enterprise, defenseless, and stranded in orbit around a Xindi military base (nyaaah!). Degra, and a Xindi Sloth confront the leader of the Insectoid forces, and force him to hand over Captain Archer. (if you recall, Archer convinced Degra that humans are not a threat to the Xindi) The Insectoid reluctantly agrees. Captain Archer is put aboard an Xindi Aquatic vessel (the Aquatics are those dolphin like creatures). Archer is released and sent in a pod back to Enterprise. Enterprise then encounters a race (who at first, I seriously thought where Cardassians, but they weren't) that offers to help them, but refuses to give them a warp coil, which Trip needs to make repairs to the Warp Core (Enterprise is always having problems with the Warp Core). Archer plans to 'steal' the warp coil, which he claims is his first unethical action (BIG LIE ARCHER!!). Meanwhile, T’Pol is experiencing withdrawal symptoms, ‘cause she’s on Trellium D, and because of the extensive damage to Enterprise she can’t get to it. Dr Phlox becomes very concerned and advises her not to use any more Trellium D (don’t tell me you forgot about the zombie Vulcans from several episodes ago!). Then, Captain Archer leads an away team to steal the warp coil, and is successful. Enterprise heads off at warp speed to rendevouz with a ship they picked up on there scanners (which is the reason they stole the warp coil). To be continued..... This was a pretty interesting Episode, but due to my allergies I was half conscience, as I like to call it, and don’t recall the details of the episode, but I will do the best I can. It was one of the better episodes this season, and didn’t have many distractions from the main plot (there was only the “stealing warp coil plot” and the “T’pol on Trellium plot”). Though this doesn't come close to my personal favorite from the second season, “Dead Stop”, in which Captain Archer starts yelling a computer console. I got a few laughs from that one. The most humorous part of this episode (now I am referring to tonight’s episode), was a part you would have had to seen Star Trek IV-The Voyage Home to understand. Dr Phlox asks T’pol, “How do you feel”. Which is the exact same thing the testing computer on Vulcan asked Spock in ‘The Voyage Home’. Just a little Trek-joke. I give this episode a 4.3 out of 5. Now for website updates: A new poll has been posted. Live long, and prosper.
April 19, 2004-Hello, once again, fellow humans. You may have noticed that I have been mispelling woreds latly in my passt fyew entrees. Yeah, like this one. I just wan't you to know that this is a very un-formal website, but that isn't even a good enough excuse for my bad spelling so I might as well shut up about it. I just thought, for some random occasion, that we commemorate Commander Data who passed away defending the Entreprise and ultimatly, Earth, and the entire United Federation of Planets. His remians (namely, microscopic molecules of a posatronic matrix) will forever float in space. Gone, but not forgotten. [two minute pause] Ok, it's been over a year now (sience Star Trek:Nemesis, the movie in which Data died), but I can't let it go. I'm angry that Data died, and won't you like me when I'm angry![I turn into giant green monster wearing one-size fits all boxers] This week's Enterprise is NEW I tell you! FINALLY!! YES!! STUPENDUS!! Nevermind. Well, anyway, I'l probably (emphasis on probably) remember to watch the episode. Live long, and proseper!
April 14, 2004-Hi. One......more......week.....till'......a new......Enterprise.....I ca..n't.....make.....it!!! Or can I? Only time will tell. As I said, next week a brand spankin' new Star Trek:Enterprise is on, featuring (in cas you forgot) Scott Bakula as Captain Archer (Hi, I'll be a nice cool-headed guy for two years, then I'll act like a real jerk) , Conner Trineer as Commander Tucker (howdy), John Billingsly as Dr Phlox (opomism Captain!), Jolene Blalock as Sub-Commander T'Pol (Vulcans do there emotions, exept in the presence of Starfleet engineers named Charles Tucker III), Linda Park as Hoshi Sato (what the heck are these funny metal ear plugs?), and a few others I can't think of of the top of my head. Live long and prosper!
April 13, 2004-I know, I know, it's been a long time since the last update and I'm real sorry, I've been busy with other things, one can't keep up with a website every day and maintain a stable life. I wish I could be more up to date but I, quite honestly, run out of things to write about, especially when Enterprise is in re-runs (one more week, yes!), and nothing to interesting popping up in the Star Trek world. I can't wait to get my first issue of Star Trek: Communicator in the mail. (Should be a few months now, I got it around Christmas time) Well, did you hear that William Shatner is in the process of developing a story for Enterprise's 4th season, starring (guess who) Captain Jimmy T Kirk, and I'm absolutly serious about this, i'm not joking, he is. I see that look on your face, "that's gotta' be a late April Fools right?", you say. Well believe me, it isn't, I swear. A new link SHOULD be added to the link section sometime in the NEAR FUTURE, if your browser dosen't work, GET A NEW ONE. {I-f--y-o-u--c-a-n--r-e-a-d--t-h-i-s--m-e-s-s-a-g-e--y-o-u-r--c-o-m-p-u-t-o-r--d-o-e-s--n-o-t--h-a-v-e--t-h-e--p-r-o-b-l-e-m.....y-o-u--d-o} What a great way to waste space. Live long and prosper. No matter where you go, there you are.
March 31, 2004-Enterprise is on tonight in re-runs, and I already saw both the episodes (there's one at eight then one at nine). Some of the Star Trek movies were on AMC last Saturday, I only watched Star Trek: The Motion Picture. I never realized how funny the effects were, the lighting of the Enterprise didn't even match the location. Sorry haven't updated in a while, I haven't had a chance to get online, I've been a little busy. Untill next time: Live long, and prosper.
March 24, 2004-Okay get this: The Enterprise episode I wanted to see (Carpenter Street)was on tonight. No, not at 9:00 like I thought, at 8:00, but there was an Enterprise on at 9:00 also. The one at 9:00 was one I already saw, plus I thought it was boring. No one ever mentioned that Enterprise was on for two hours (starting at 8:00). I am really angry, now I have to wait for the summer repeats, grrrrrr! Well, thanks for your attention. Live long and prosper.
March 21, 2004-Today is the alleged first day of spring. (I say alleged because there is not sufficiant evidence to support this claim, I'm taking it court!!)Guess what: I still exist in this quantum reality, I know I haven't updated in 10 days but one must keep up with one's life. As you have noticed: 1. I am not a hard-core blogger; 2. This isn't even an official blog, it's just a blog-like thingy. Captains Blog is being replaced with a more interesting thing that I will probably update more often, it will still be known as Captains Blog, but I will write short articles on strictly Star Trek topics non-related to this particular web-page. So what happens to Captain McDweyer and crew? Beats me, why don't you amuse yourself and write a 'Logical Course part 2'. This week is ANOTHER re-run of Enterprise (I thought only schools had spring break, and It's not even spring, not counting today) Fortunatly It's one I haven's seen, I'm so happy, I'll have seen ALL of season 3 (I've missed alot of seasons 1 & 2). If you where lucky enough to live in Rhode Island and went to Trinity Rep Theater to see Sofrito (so-free-toe) last Friday, the main story teller guy made a small Star Trek reference, he went into a Scotty imatation and said "Just a wee bit like Checov", beats me what he meant by that. Urgent News Bulletin: If you haven't seen the movie Johnny English, see it, it is hilarious, that's all I will say. (parental guidence suggested aka: PG) Live long, prosper, and good-bye!!
March 11, 2003-If you noticed, for the last 24 hours, the TrekSlip title image has been missing from the homepage. Appearantly, Angelfire dosen't support Adobe Photoshop JPEGs, so I had to convert it to a normal JPEG file. This has been a minor techincal problem, and as you noticed, it has been corrected. Thanks, and don't forget: TrekSlip has been onling for one year, and counting!+Enterprise is now on at 9:00PM Wednesdays (I know, I've said that a million times, but people easily forget these things). I'm in a good mood so I'll share my favorite Lost in Space scene(what! no Star Trek):Penny[Speaking to her mother]:"I asked Dad if places could have brains, like people. Then he said 'very few people do'" Haha, nevermind. It was kinda' useless anyway, you know, It's not Star Trek related, but.....forget it. Live long and, prosper, OKAY! Gee whiz!
March 10, 2004-TrekSlip has been on line for about one year (as mentioned last time), and we havent come very far. Our mission was to post what no website has posted before....but I failed. I know there's a million sites out there in vast continuum of the Internet, that have Star Trek bloopers, so I'm not the first. But, none of those sites have reviews, news (via TrekToday), and random things Star Trek. Todays random thing: No new Enterprise this week, 'North Star', the episode that made Commander Tucker feel right at home, is on tonight at 9:00PM (yes, Enterprise will now be on at 9:00, after 2 1/2 years of being an 8:00 show, but I believe Voyager was on at 10:00PM, so thats not as bad). Live long and prosper!
March 3, 2003-I’d like to celebrate TrekSlips one year anniversary with........a review. ”Azati Prime” was tonight’s episode, great storyline (without the annoying jumble of “last time’ scenes) involving the Sphere Builders and Crewman Daniel, yes, again, but only monentarily, on the USS Enterprise NCC-1701-J (I’m not kidding!), which is confirmed by a display to be a Cheyenne Class, which only appeared in Star Trek as wreakage in the ‘Graveyard Scene’ in the Next Generation episode, “Best of Both Worlds”, which was cool, but we didn’t see any exteriors (never in the history of Star Trek has this ship been seen in one piece). This makes great potential for a new series with a USS Enterprise (namely the NCC-1701-J). Sorry, I got kinda’ wrapped up in that. Daniels says to Archer that he must get a peace agreement with the Xindi, saying that the Sphere Builders are the real enimey. Archer dosen’t completly trust him and takes off on a mission to destroy the Xinidi weapon after returning from the 26th century. T’Pol and the rest of the crew are protesting by every means neccisary, T’Pol and Trip most of all. The Captain leaves, leaving his dog Porthos in the care of Dr Phlox (“Sneak him some cheese once in a while” Archer says to Phlox. That’s an old joke from the first season). Archer is capured by the Insectoids, and demands to speak with Degra, the builder of the Xindi weapon. The Inectoid agrees and Archer convinces tries to convince Degra that humans are not the real enimey of the Xindi, “Humans will be the saviours of the Xindi” Degra mocks. As Captain Archer is about to convince Degra that he’s telling the truth, the Insectoids barge in and inturupt the conversation. Degra refuses to leave but......Well any way, meanwhile, the Enterprise (NX-01 not NCC-1701-J) is under attack by Xindi ships. The ship is critically damaged, with fires, exploions, and hull breaches all over the ship. Will the Enterprise be saved? Find out next time on Enterprise. Great story, bad water effects. There’s a scene where Archer takes the Xindi shuttle (stolen in last weeks episode) for a nose-dive into the seas of Azati Prime to destroy the Xindi weapon, it makes a big splash that looks really fake. They did better in 1987 in Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home, when the Klingon Bird-of-Prey crashed into the water, but they used real water and a model , not that terrible CGI substitute(it’s too expensive to make a styrofoam model and crash it into water on a weekly TV series), but the whole underwater structure things made that less annoying. The end was very suspensful, but the next one is not till’ two weeks or so. This episode just bearly beats the Deep Space Nine episode “The Changing Face of Evil”, in which the starship Defiant was detroyed. I give this episode a.......what will the judges say ladies and gentlemen?.......4.8 of of 100, just kidding, it’s really a 4.8 out of five. Enterprise is making a steady incline (upwards) in it’s episodes. Hoooray for the great actors and writers. Gee, it took 2 people to help ol’ Ricky Berman to write this story, I thought he only needed 1 (Brannon Braga). Were’s Ira Steven Behr (the a producer on Deep Space Nine) or Michael Piller (see previous parenthasis+cc-creator of Deep Space Nine) when you need em’. NOTICE: Next week, Enterprise is on at 9:00PM instead of it’s former 8:00PM time slot. REMEBER! YOU MUST GO TO MOUNT SALAYA ON VULCAN!!!! Live long, and prosper!
Febrbruary 29, 2004-OK, this site is called TrekSlip and it's supposed to be a scource for Star Trek bloopers, but I must admit, this is the saddest Star Trek blooper scoure I've ever seen! I'm not proud of the fact, I'm just being honest. Alright, I'll say it, I've only seen 0.00000034542334% of the Star Trek episodes ever made(slight over exaggeration), and I call myself a Trekkie. (actually I don't, I think the name is fan-ist, like raceist) Sorry I'm writing like this but need to complain, and it's easier to complain in writing. You know what I really hate about Star Trek, the good guys always win, not only that, but the are made to seem a gazillion times as superior as the bad guys. It just seems that if your friends with the Federation, your civilized. Star Trek is supposed to be anti-racist, but I guess it only inludes humans, and friends of humans. If you remember, the Klingons where savage animals, as soon as they joined the Federation Alliance, they become civilized beings. Woah, I should call my website TrekRant....nahhh. Seriously, the new Polar Lights Klingon D-7 Battlecruiser is great. Not as good as their USS Enterprise kit, but still good. I think there's a review on Starship Modeler. Well, this concludes my entry, don't miss this Wednesday's Enterprise, I hope it's good (if I think it was bad, you'll hear from me, yeah I'm talkin' to you Rick Berman!) Live long, and prosper.
February 25, 2004-Tonight's episode ‘Hatchery’ was okay, except for the jumble of random scenes from previous episodes that had absolutely nothing to do with this episode. Enterprise finds a crashed Xindi vessel and an away team shuttles down to the crash site. They search the ship and find a shuttle bay (a painting that the actors where composted onto). They discover a hatchery of Xindi insectoids (hence the name of the episode), and Captain Archer gets sprayed by some kind of neuro-toxin which Phlox calls “a defense mechanism”. The captain begins to act strangely, he makes saving the Xindi eggs a priority over saving earth. Trip begins a mutiny, which completely contradicts what Spock said in ‘The Tholian Web’ when Checov asked “Has there ever been mutiny on a Starship before?”, Spock then replies “There is no record of such an occurrence. But now as I write this, Spock said “no record of such an occurrence” which could mean that the incident was not recorded as a true ‘mutiny’. The so-called ‘mutiny’ was ultimately successful, and the Enterprise now continues to Azati Prime, which Captain Archer states “..is not going any where”, yes it is, it’s a planet, it’s orbiting a star. Dr Phlox uses a Dr Smith-ism (You know, the guy from Lost in Space, ex:”You bubble-headed booby”), he calls the dead Xindi a “Fabulous Fellow”, which really isn’t a fellow because “...Insectoids are genderless”, which means they bisexually reproduce (little joke, I think Spock said that some genderless species they encountered reproduced ‘bisexually. Leave it to Vulcan Science officers). This episode confirmed the question of all questions, “was World War III the same as the Eugenics Wars?”: Captain Archer’s great grandfather fought in the Eugenics wars, Captain Archer is probably a little over 40, the year is 2153-54, his great grandfather (most likely dead), would probably have been born circa 2040, because the draft age is 18, and World War III was in the 2060’s, do the math. The Eugenics Wars and the Third World War was the same thing, which explains why in “Carpenter Street” there was no signs of any major war, but doesn't explain why in a Voyager episode when they go back to the 1990’s, there is evidence of the Eugenics wars (Spock says the Eugenics Wars take place in the early 1990’s). This concludes my review of the Enterprise episode “Hatchery” (which was actually concluded several sentences ago). I give this episode a 4 out of 5 (great story, great presentation, not perfect). Next week: Daniels (from Cold Front, Shockwave parts 1 & 2, and the afore mentioned Carpenter Street) returns in “Azati Prime”. Live long and prosper.
February 19, 2004-I feel like a Ferengi with a bad day. [more below this insanely big picture of Quark]
I was going to sell a whole bunch of Pokemon cards on eBay (the ‘Non-Star Trek’ thing noted a few entries ago), but it turns out people where selling 700 cards for $10, I was thinking a couple hundred for 684 cards but no one would ever buy it. Apparently the eighty-second Ferengi Rule of Acquisition, “The flimsier the product, the higher the price” doesn't apply in an Earth economy, but then again, according to Quark, “they’re just suggestions”. I’ve got a new one: “You can never break the law of supply and demand”, I believe that would be number 286 (in addition to the already existing 285). What really stinks is I spent hours making a list of all the cards in the collection to help consumers stay true to the two-hundred-eighteenth Rule, “Always know what you're buying”. And I also feel really upset, because I felt justified at putting the starting bid at a couple hundred because as the man said, “The justification for profit is profit”, which by the way is the two-hundred-second Rule of Acquisition. Another Rule that applies to my situation is the two-hundred and eighth, “Sometimes the only thing more dangerous than a question is an answer”, and my question was “How much will people be willing to pay for 684 Pokemon cards?” and the answer was “Give it up”. Also, for some reason I wanted to look up James Darren(Vic Fontain on Star Trek: Deep Space Nine) on Amazon.com, he has a CD called “This Ones From The Heart” which is one of his lines on Deep Space Nine. The CD includes some songs he sung on Deep Space Nine including; “The Best Is Yet To Come”, “Come Fly With Me”, “All The Way”, “It's Only A Paper Moon”, “I've Got The World On A String”, “I've Got You Under My Skin”, “The Way You Look Tonight”, “Here's To The Losers”, “You're Nobody ‘Til Somebody Loves You”, and “I'll Be Seeing You”. If your interesting in buying his CD click here pally. Live long, and remember, “The bigger the smile, the sharper the knife” (Rule number forty-eight)
February 18, 2004-Enterprise is making a comeback, tonight's episode was "Doctor's Orders", and it was just what the doctor ordered. You know you've seen a good Star Trek episode when it gets you thinking, and yes their was a plot, and yes I did understand it. The crew of the NX-01 are in stasis, except Dr Phlox and Porthos (the two P's in a pod), and apparently T'Pol. Dr Phlox begins to experience hallucinations such as a Xindi Insectoid, a deformed Hoshi, a peeved off Trip, and an odd Captain Archer. Oh and did I mention, T'Pol was a hallucination too, but we don't find out till' the end of the episode. Dr Phlox begins a search for the Xindi Insectoid he 'saw'. Then Doc Phlox almost shoots Porthos and says "Thankfully my aim is terrible". T'Pol and Phlox (well just Phlox) discovers that the area of space they are in (which is the reason the crew's in stasis) has expanded. Phlox, after commenting "Im a physician, not an engineer”, (a combo of two Dr McCoy quotes “I’m a doctor, not an engineer” and “I’m a physician, not a psychiatrist”) read the whole stinkin'’ manuel on the Warp Drive to increase the ships speed to Warp 2. But really how hard could it be, just press random buttons and presto! I mean if Captain Picard can figure out how to self destruct a Son’a thingamabob without looking at a single stinkin'’ manuel, why can’t Phlox? (Because he’s by the book. Hahaha get it? [long pause] Never mind) Phlox saves the day, and writes to his friend in the Inter-species Medical Exchange (if you remember from ‘Dear Doctor’ and one or two other episodes). I give this episode a 4.6 because I’m so overjoyed that finally we had a good episode, nothing like watching your favorite Star Trek character loose his mind. (Phlox should change his mind. Theirs something wrong with it. Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home reference, sorry) Live long, and don’t invision Xindi and malformed Japanese communications officers.
February 17, 2004-Yes, I do still exist in this quantum reality; I just haven’t had much time to use a computer. In my spare time I’ve been reading the Deep Space Nine Companion, and I’ve become fascinated with Bajor, and the Bajoran beliefs. So much that I decided to post a poll (completely non-Enterprise). Don’t forget to take it. I’m also thinking of a good Part 2 to ‘Logical Course’, the ‘pilot’ of Captain’s Blog. Live long and prosper. May the Prophets Guide you.
February 11, 2004-Tonights episode, 'Harbinger', was very strange. I did not follow the storyline at all. What I got was: Enterprise finds this alien, it almost dies but then seemingly kills Dr Phlox and escapes. He goes around wrecking stuff and is eventually killed by Malcolm Reed and Major Hayes (who by the way get yelled at by Captain Archer becaue they where "acting like 5 year olds"). The T'Pol/Trip thing turned into something the Bashir/Ezri thing, except no Klingon (ex:Worf) or dead Trill host (ex:Jadzia) had anything to do with it. Well okay, first Trip liked this MACO commander (her name was Ashly or something) who grew up several kilometers from where Trip did, in Florida. Speaking of Florida, my friend is going to Florida, I hope the Xindi don't attack! Okay, back on topic! Then Trip likes T'Pol, after a very awkward discussion (I hate it when Star Trek people quote each-other in conversations). In this episode there was a so-called convergance of anomalies, to me, it looked like a convergance of strawberry jelly. But that's just me. I think this was just as bad as last weeks, actually worse. The story couldn't have possibly been made into a better episode (that was a negative comment). Enterprise just keeps getting worse and worse. I'd rather go watch some Star Trek: Voyager (and thats my least favorite Trek show, DS9 and TOS rules!). I give this episode a dissapointing 1.4 out of 5 (sorry Captain Archer). I probably won't post a new Star Trek: Captains Blog, I have a personal project I'm working on called my first eBay post (non-Star Trek related, sorry). Live long and prosper!
February 5, 2003-The first Captain's Blog short story was posted today entitled 'Logical Course part 1'. Plot summery: Captain McDweyer prepared for the begining of his mission onboared the Lexington when an Andorian Ambassador is mysterioulsy killed. The crew of the newly constructed USS Lexington must help solve the mystery, and the guys at the bottom are the last people you'd expect. 'Logical Course part 1', read it now. Coming soon: 'Logical Course part 2'
UPDATE:The new link, Captains Blog, is a short story series I'm working on. It will be setup on a blog type format (hence the name: Captains Blog) The details are yet to be determined. It's probably going to take place during the Original Series era. After the first story, I will begin to accept story ideas, and maybe even complete works.
February 4, 2003-Ok, that was a strange episode. I did not get it at all, and that means it was a bad episode. I believe it had good story potential but the writers just wasted it on a bad script. 'Strategem' was it' name, confusion was it's name, Halfway through the episode it had a '3 Days Earlier' thing which I didn't get. The episode wen't downhill from there. It was impossible to put any of the events in chronological order. Enterprise can be much better than this. At least they made some progress in the mission to stop the Xindi from destroying Earth. At one point in the episode Archer needs to know what the names of Degra's (the Xindi featured in this episode) children are. Convieniently, it's right in the Xindi database. I didn' know he had children. He has two, at least not seven like Gul Dukat (DS9's 'Maquis part 1'). Oddly, they didn't have age or date of birth in the database, or maybe it was in Xind-uenese. I give this episode a 2.6 out of 5. The worst rating I've EVER given a Star Trek episode (that's bad, considering this website hasen't existed for more than a year). Live long and prosper. (Note:Don't take this review too, too seriously, I havent recovered fully from watching Deep Space Nine yet)
February 4, 2003-Grrrrrr! I wanted to participate in the live chat with Scott Bakula (Captain Archer) on StarTrek.com but my computor whoulden't let it work. Grrrr! Speaking of Scott, he yet again stars as Captain Archer on tonight's Enterprise (actually, every Enterprise). I will post a review after the Episode.
February 3, 2003-Hello, I am in a reputable mood today, that I just had to make a new poll, among other things. I still havent even started the Trek-tionary yet, and I won't promise it anytime in the near future. I have to attend to other matters (such as time) before I can finish the Trek-tionary. It will contain some of the basic (and not so basic) trek vocabulary for new-comers. Live long and prosper! SCOTTY BEAM ME UP!
February 1, 2004-So far I've seen discs 1,2,3,4 and 7 of the Deep Space Nine season 7 DVD set. I could really relate to "It's Only a Paper Moon", because just over a week ago I injured my arm but now I'm almost fully recovered. The episode taught me not to over-exadgerate the injury in my mind, I have to live with what happened. Star Trek is really fun when that happens, not to mention when it has a great plot...and a singing hologram (namely: Vic Fontain). Live long and prosper.
January 27, 2004-Hi, I'm coming from my eMac. I finally got it online. My friendly neigborhood Blockbuster now has Deep Space Nine the complete seventh season, but they make you rent each disc seperatly. So far I've seen the first eight episodes (oh, an I cheated and watched the finale 'What You Leave Behind' first). This weeks Enterprise is a rerun. Speaking of which, Enterprise is being moved over to 9 PM on Wednesday. When will this change take effect? I have no idea. Keep an eye out (and so will I). Live long and prosper.PS: Trek-tionary hopefully coming soon!
January 21, 2004-I got a belated Christmas present over the weekend, Lost in Space season 1 DVD set. I have only watched a few episodes and they are funny (because there old), though I must say, some of the special effects are better than Star Trek (The Original Series of course), in the pilot the Jupiter 2 was bombarded with asteroids (which looked like flying balls of aluminum foil), that's better than anything they did on Star Trek, the best thing was little paintings of asteroids flying around the view screen. Speaking of Star Trek (which I should've been talking about): ‘Proving Ground’ was this weeks episode of Enterprise, starring the Andorians, and with a very lengthly ‘Last time on...’ thingy which was, in my opinion, pointless, unless, of course, you missed every key Enterprise episode for the past 5 months. Well, this means you are either new to the show or just haven’t been keeping up. This has to be the second best this season (so far), if not the best. I like how it hints twords a future alliance between Andorians and Humans, as seen in the Original Series episode “Journy To Babel”(that was when the Andorian antenae where made of clay). Jeffery Combs yet again potrayed Commander Shran, a recurring charachter since “The Andorian Incident”, the first appearance of the Andorians since Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home (there was an Andorian on the Federation Council). As usual Jeffery Combs put on a sensational preformace (beats Shatner by a landslide, of course...anyone does), alough I have never seen his preformance of the Vorta, Weyon in Deep Space Nine, I imagine it was pretty good. But back to Enterprise. In ‘Proving Ground’ the Enterprise meets up with the Andorians and together they repair damage to the Enterprise inflicted by an anomoly. Shran agrees to help Archer in his mission against the Xindi, a little to fishy if you ask me. It turns out, Shran is under orders to take the Andorian weapon and use it as a way to intimidate the Vulcans. Of course, when Archer finds out, he blows his fuse and yells a few nice (that was sarcasm) words at Shran, and then after all that, Archer destroyes the Xindi weapon, but the Andorians had scans of the Xindi weapon and someone sent them to Archer. Could it have been Shran? Find out next year! (or somthing like that) I can say no negative things, but I have one more positive thing to say: The overhead shot of the Xindi council chambers cant be beat! Except Trip scraping the hull with an inspection Pod! (sorry, pilot episode reference) I give this episode a (gee, this is a toughie): 4.4-4.8 I CAN’T DECIDE! I don’t want to just give it a good rating, but I don’t want to be overly critical. With that I can only say: Live long, and prosper.
January 16, 2004-Yesterday was a snowy day in Rhode Island, and it was freezing!!! I was bored, so I just wached "Fellowship of the Ring", the only Lord of the Rings movie I own because I spend too much money on Star Trek stuff and I don't explore my other interests (but I'm getting better). It's freesing today too, I decuced that because it was freezing yesterday, so I don't think it could be much different. Oh...and I never watch the news. Well, I hope you all have been properly entertained. I was just bored playing "The Legend of Zelda" a sience I woke up(Windwaker, not the original), and I thought I'dd take a break and let the Trek(ies/ers/fans) who trek the intrernet know that yes I still exist in this space-time-contiuum. Live long and prosper.
January 14, 2004-Sorry I got this on so late but the computer froze while I was writing the review so I'm not into writing it agains so I'll just provide a brief sum-up: The episode was called "Chosen Realm". I consider it one of the best episodes of season three. It has some similarities with the original series episode "Let That Be Your Last Battlefield", the most obvious being that the homeworld of the species was destroyed (I forget the names of both species). I gave this episode a 4.9 out of five, it was good, but could've been better. Live long and prosper (this computer whould be lucky if it did)
January 8, 2004-I had a bad day today, and this is just a great ending: I can't think of anything to say exept: Sorry I didn't update yesterday, I watched Enterprise and I didn't have a chance to update. If your curious as to why I had a bad day, believe me, you don't wanna' know.
January 6, 2004-Well, looks like my New Years resolution is holding out. I've got news for Star Trek modelers: Appearantly, the NX-01 came out last month. Also, a Star Trek: Nemesis model kit "The Scorpion"(the Reman space shuttle), a 1:24 scale snap-kit, with figures, schedueled to be released sometime in July. Polar Lights hasent yet made this public (as far as I know), but...here you go. The release date, set by Polar Lights, is subject to change, without prior notice (now how do I know that?). Live long and prosper.
January 5, 2004-Just to let you know, my New Years resolution was to try to keep this website updated every day. Also, I want to make this website more interesting. Here's something really nerve-racking: I was waching a Star Trek episode from my TNG season 2 set, I picked up a mistake (or slip, as you probably know) and then, right after the episode, I forgot it. I'm always watching Star Trek, intent on finding mistakes so I can get new material for you guys to absorb. Sometimes I get so desperate, I check other scources. And, always, I accept email from any visitor to this site, espessially when they send me some slips. And remember modelers: The Klingon D-7 Battle Cruiser is coming soon, I don't know exactly when but...It's coming. I've already got some latinum (well, dollars really) set aside for it. I hope it's as good as their USS Enterprise, which I had a kick building (but those AMT kits are just plain stressful). I think Polar Lights should release the Romulan Bird of Prey from "The Balance of Terror", the Botany Bay/Space Frieghter from "Space Seed" and "The Ultimate Computor", the K-7 Space Station from "Trouble With Tribbles" and "The Ultimate Computor", and the legendary Daedaleus Class from no episode at all but still a cool design, all in 1/1000 scale (same as USS Enterprise and Klingon Battle Cruiser). In fact, they should release a whole series of Star Trek ships, next being the movies, then The Next Generation and it's movies Deep Space Nine and Voyager, all in 1/1000 scale. But I suppose that it whould all depend on the sucess of the kits they're releasing now. Gee, I was just writing a short message to Trek modelers so they whoulden't forget about the Klingon Battle Cruiser, I sure get carried away (ahhh, help!). May you die a warriors death, just survive long enough to get your own Klingon Battle Cruiser in 1/1000 scale. And now my complete contradiction to what I just said (but by my own rule I have to end mostly every entry with this line), live long and prosper.
January 4, 2004-Ok, Elite Force 2 didn't work. I should've known Vitual PC dosen't work with 3D games, I read it on the box but did I pay attention? Nooo! I've got the brains of a Pakled ("Samaritan Snare"). But I've got some good news for modelers: Polar Lights is releasing the Klingon D-7 Battle Cruiser as a snap-kit, just like the Enterprise, and it's to scale with the Enterprise. It's coming out this month. Still no news on the NX-01 that should've been released October of last year. COMING SOON: The Trek-tionary, a page chock-full-o-Star Trek terms that every Trek[kie/er/fan] should know, and of course there definitions. Coming whenever I get my new computor online.
January 1, 2004[Part 2]-Last night I wached the movie Apollo 13. Clint Howard, known to Trek-Fans as Balok ("TRANYA!") and some weired Ferengi in an episode of Enterprise called "Aquisition". An Elite Force update, the following Trek legends contributed there voice talents to the game: Tim Russ(Klingon, Enterprise B officer, and Tuvok), Patrick Stewart (Jean-Luc Picard), Dwight Schultz (Reginald Barclay) Robert O'Reilly (Dixon Hill holo-program villian, and Klingon Chancellor Gowron), J.G. Hertzler (Vulcan Captain, Changeling, General Martok and Captain Archers 'Lawer'), Vaughn Armstrong (Cardassian Gul in DS9's second episode, Admiral Forrest), and Jeffery Combs (The Vorta Weyon, and Andorian General Shran). I can't wait to play it. It's just finishing up installation. (Further updates coming soon)
January 1, 2004-This is not only our first entry of the new year, it happens to be the first new year for Trekslip. I think we should look back on Star Trek of 2003: In DVD and VHS-This year marked the release of Deep Space Nine seasons 1-7 on DVD (I own season 2). Also, the movie Star Trek Nemisis was released on DVD and VHS earlier this year. And of course, Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan-The Directors Edition was released earlier this year (exact date, I do not know). On to TV-Enterprise concluded it's second season with the episode "The Expanse" which introduced the Xindi into Star Trek. After a summer of re-runs (as usual) Enterprise kicked of it's third season with the episode "The Xindi". Sadly, ratings for Enterprise plummeted down, Rick Berman announced that Enterprise will run for one more season in 2004-2005 making a total of aproxamatly 100 episodes, just enough for the show to appear in reruns. And finally to Video Games-The highly anticipated game, Star Trek: Elite Force II, the sequal to the highly sucessful game Star Trek Voyager: Elite Force, is released by ActiVision and Ritual Entertainment for the PC, the game is a whopping 1.5 Gigabytes (I know, because I own it) and there are 2 intallation disks (CDs of course) that must be used, making this probably the biggest Star Trek game to date. How good is it? I don't know, but it's installing now onto my new computor. Live long, and prosper. Peace, and long life. And any other Vulcan phrases worth mentioning. If I missed anything, well then you know what it is and you don't need it posted on this website.
December 25, 2003-

December 22, 2003-This is probably my last update untill 2004. I saw Return of the King and it was AWESOME!! The end was a bit lengthly and boring (it made the movie seemed like 4 hours instead of 3) but other than that, the best of the 3. Now to Star Trek: This week I'd like to talk about Christmas, and what it means to a Trek-fan (call me a Trekker or a Trekkie to my face and I won't be happy). It means, hopefully, getting another DVD season of Deep Space Nine (without argument, the best spinoff Trek series). It means getting another Art Asylum action figure, and then returning it cause' I already got em' all. It means getting Star Wars: Episode 5 instead of Star Trek 5 from a relative who it's all the same to. It means getting another phreakin' phaser (get it?) when I've got enough to arm 100 guys in red shirts and still have one for my self. It means getting Star Trek: Elite Force 2, and not being able to play it because my PC is fried (true story, I have to update my website on a Mac now). It means getting a Captain Kirk cardboard standup and saying "I....HAVE HAD....ENOUGH....OF......YOU!!!" and thow him out the window. It means getting a Spock cardboard standup and saying "It whould be logical to defenestrate the Captain". It means alot of other things I do not feel inclined to mention. Thankyou for your attention, see you next year. Don't tell anyone, but the US goverment's thinking of switching to Stardate next year. [Read the following ONLY if you take everything seriously:] It's a joke, OK!
December 18, 2003-Today I'm going to see Return of the King, even though I haven't finished the book. Why am I mentioning this on a Star Trek website? Because, like Star Trek, Lord of the Rings is coooool!! They both have cool battles in them, they both have charachters that you just wanna' know more about. There both just...GREAT. Click here for the official Lord of the Rings movie website. Now for Trek: Last nights Enterprise (a re-run I might add), Rajiin, was probably, in my opinion, one of the poorest developed episodes Though they tried to make it up with a little skirmish with the Xindi and, well....um....................so uh, yeah what was I saying? Well, all I can say is those slaves where um.....well you see, the whole idea was kinda' stupid......yeah. starts to sweat Well, my point is.....the episode coud've been better. But, where did Rajiin get the different clothes? I don't believe anyone on Enterprise wears those clothes. Not even T'Pol, though it whould seem kind of...if you get my drift. OK you can at least chuckle now, it was just a joke. I think I've used enough.........s, so um, HAPPY HOLIDAYS!!!
December 17, 2003-WOAH! I haven't updated in a while. Sorry about that. I just updated to say: Happy Holidays also happens to be the name of an Irving Berlin song (Just like 'Blue Skys' in Star Trek: Nemisis) so I think it fitting to provide the lyrics to the song. Click here to get the lyrics. May this be your Nexus Christmas (or Hanuka, or whatever holiday you celebrate this time of year). Also, today was the 100th aniversary of the Wright Brothers' flight. Recognize this picture? It's from the Star Trek: Enterprise theme. May the calendar keep bringing, Happy holidays to you.
December 9, 2003-Rumour has it, Enterprise is getting moved Friday nights. For those of you who remember (very few of you I imagine) or have heard that the Original Series was moved to Friday nights, the so-called "Death Slot" of Television, in it's third, and final, season. Also, Enterprise is scheduled to end after it's fourth season, if it makes it that far. What will happen after Enterprise? Who knows. Here's an idea for the next Star Trek show: The date: 24th century, location: the edge of Federation space. Voyager has returned home, a peace treaty is being negotiated with the Romulans. The abolisment of the Neutral Zone is about to commence... what will happen? That's for Berman and Braga to decide (oh god no). If you have any ideas for the next Star Trek, email me using the link on the menu. Don't forget to participate in the newly posted poll.
December 8, 2003- I'dd like to correct something, earlier I stated the next new Enterprise episode isn't till February but the next new episode airs the last Wednesday in January. Sorry for that slight error.
December 7, 2003-I'm starting to feel much better now. Boy was it cold (and snowy), it reminded me of that planet in "The Enemy Within" that the landing party was stranded on. Well I can't think of what else to say except don't miss this weeks re-run. Whatever it is.
November 30, 2003-Sorry I didn't post a review for last week's Enterprise, I didn't see it but a relative taped it for me so I should be seeing it soon, and maybe I'll do a review. I've also been mildly sick lately so I'm not in the greatest mood. Oh boy' I better get to bed, it's 10:21 and I'm exausted, and I should get all the sleep I can. Hope you all had a great Thanksgiving. I did. I was thankful that I wasen't the turkey. I think we should look at other alien cultures way of giving thanks: Betazoids: Wait for the dinner chime to eat and eat until the dinner chime chimes again. Bajorans: Put hands together in prayer before foods is served. This concludes this weeks Trek Slip update. (cough, cough! Achooo!!)
November 20, 2003-Next week's Enterprise will yet again take place in the future, but only a few months in the future. Are old friend Daniels (last appeared in Shockwave) is back to yet again say "This wasen't supposed to happen". Also a new link has been added. I only discovered it this week, it's a neat fan film-series about Star Trek. It's called "Hidden Frontier" and it's pretty cool. They tell you how they made it. (it was all filmed in front of a green screen) Also, new slips have arrived. Live long and prosper.
November 19, 2003-Send in the clones. This was not the best episode, but it was alright. Of course, the writers pulled a classic "Charachter gets killed then comes back to life" move. I thought they should've named Sim-Trip, Charles Tucker the 4th. Trip pulled a Captain Kirk line when T'Pol kissed him ("I couldn't have asked fpr a better going away present") at the end of the episode. Oh my, I can't even imagine Trip being the Kirk of Enterprise. Hopefully that won't happen, that's the last thing Enterprise needs. Speaking of Kirk, or rather 'Kirk era', I thought that little space burial thing (first seen in Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan) was a nice touch (as was Rura Penthe in "Judgement"). Fans of the Marx Brothers movies probably caught Sim-Trip mentioning "A Night at the Opera" as the selected movie for movie night. Which brings us to tonights edition of "What _____ could have said" Sim-Trip in his new quarters presses the comm panel. Sim Trip: "Is this room service. Send down a bigger room." Archer: "Sim, that's not funny, were deciding weather we should kill you to save Trip or not. Whoops, did I just say that?" That concludes this weeks edition of "What _____ could have said", this also concludes this weeks review. I give this episode a 3.8 out of 5, for effort. Don't miss next week's Enterprise, it's the last new one till' February. Here is a screen capture from the Marx Brothers movie, "A Night at the Opera"
Update Report: Trek Slip is undergoing a minor face lift. Due to the inconvienience of the site menu being on the bottom of the page I have relocated it. I hope to be able to not delete any blog (if you you could call it that) entries for a while. If anything does not work proporly please let me know. As of now, the 'menu' is still located on the bootom as well as near the top. This is just another stage in Trek Slip's mission to bring you quality bloopers, news, reviews, and little fun things.
November 12, 2003-Howdy, Trek-Fans! I rekon this was funniest lil' Enterprise episode yet. It was also the only episode so far to be rated TV-14. I didn't like how the episode didn't explain how Enterprise found this planet, or what this planet was called, I can't think of anything else negative to say. (DARN!) I'll bet Commander Tucker fit in well on that planet,(so what if he has a southern accent? That's close enough!) and at least the buildings had enough walls. (in-joke, you have to have seen the Original Series episode "Spectre of the Gun" to understand it) During that little shoot-out near the end, I thought "Those guys are gonna' wipe out all the MACOs before Enterprise's big battle with the Xindi" (if that ever happens). The way they treated the "Skags" was very much the way African Americans where treated before Abraham Lincoln (who by the way is Captain Kirk's hero) pushed to abolish slavery. Who knew: Captain Archer was born in upstate New York (What is this show's obsession with the east coast? In "Dessert Crossing" Captain Archer mentioned Rhode Island. In "The Expanse" the Xindi probe hit Florida as one of it's targets. And now this. Not that I'm complaining but what about Kansas or Idaho? Oh, and isn't Brazil on the east coast of South America, you know, where Hoshi taught world language in "Broken Bow". Enough with that already) I have to seperate my ratings this week into categories. Story/Plot: 4 Special Effects (when ever there was any):4.9 (The view of the planet from the mess hall looked fake) That concludes this weeks review. Don't miss next week's Star Trek: Enterprise. Website Update: A new poll has been posted.
November 9, 2003-Yesterday I heard "Faith of the Heart" (the Enterprise Theme)while at the grocery store. I had to contain my inner-trek self from singing along. Just thought I'dd share that bit of information. Click here to listen to it. (Note: This is the same link as the one I posted on October 13th)
November 5, 2003-Xindi, anomolies, and battles, oh my! This weeks episode, Twilight, was interesting. Enterprise is starting to turn into some kinda' Deep Space Nine, with the space battles. The battle depicted in "Twilight" reminded me of the Starfleet Vs. Dominion battle in the DS9 season 2 episode "The Jem'Hadar", except no Xindi made suicide runs into starships. The fact that the humans settled on Ceti Alpha 5 (the planet Kirk left Khan on in "Space Seed) created a nostalgic feel. I'm just wondering, did any humans die due to Ceti Eels which reside on Ceti Alpha 5 (according to Star Trek II:The Wrath of Khan). This wasen't the best Enterprise to date, but it's right up there (with: Broken Bow, Aquisition, Shockwave, Mine Field, Judgement, and of course The Shipment). I thought the appearance of a Y'ridian was cool because we have never seen one since DS9. I'm glad they had a diiferent actor for this Y'ridian because that guy who was in at least 2 episodes of TNG got annoying after five minutes. I still think this episode could have be
