Tamara discovered her love for acting at a young age. Having completed high school at only 16 she began her college career earlier than most. While in school studying Shakespeare she was bit by the acting bug, which ultimately led to performances in several school productions.During one performance with the Vanguard Theater Group, Mello caught the eye of an agent who recognized her talent and signed her right away.
Mello made her television debut in a Mountain Dew commercial followed with her first professional role as a guest star on "Boy Meets World". Upon auditioning for "Beverly Hills, 90210," she caught the eye of legendary producer Aaron Spelling, who was so impressed by her that he provided her with a guest-starring role on the popular series "7th Heaven".
Mello completed her first series regular role on the critically acclaimed drama, "Nothing Sacred" and she can now be seen as a series regular on "Popular", an hour-long comedy about high school teens that airs on the WB Network.
Mello's growing film career includes Mirimax's recent hit feature "She's All That", a Cinderella saga with an edge which starred several of Hollywood's hottest young actors including Freddie Prinze, Jr., Matthew Lillard and Rachael Leigh Cook. Mello's other feature credits include independent films such as "Rave", a story about several kids from all walks of life attending a rave and "Carlo's Wake", about a family funeral starring Martin Landao and Rita Moreno. She also recently completed "Spanish Judges", a dark drama similar to "Pulp Fiction", in which she co-stars opposite Vincent D'Onofrio and Matthew Lillard.
Mello's love for acting shows greatly in her performances."If I wasn't an actress I'd probably go crazy!" says Mello. "I love the release it provides for me". Mello resides in Los Angeles with her life-long dog Ahsby, a Pomeranian. When not acting she enjoys yoga, reading and spending time with her family.
