"Wolf 359"
A piece of an alien planet is brought back in miniature, and
accelerated time, cloned by a scientist (who keeps it in a complex gas case.) It turns out, however, that the case also contains an evil entity from the planet, that gradually gains in power and threatens the project, the scientist, and his wife.
