Chapter 1
Springfield 2008
Santos Residence
Danny Santos ran his fingers down her arm, his first
love since that summer he had spent in Florida when he
was only 17. Carly smiled under his touch she moved
her hand up and rubbed his cheek.
"Good morning beautiful." Danny said kissing her
palm. Carly smile at him and laughed.
"Good morning to you too." Carly replied she sat up
from their bed and captured his lips. He returned her
kiss with equal passion. The ringing of both their
cell phones interrupted them. Carly groaned and
answered her phone. Danny kissed her fully on her lips
and answered his phone.
"Caroline Santos." Carly said into the phone. Her
face went pale and tears entered her eyes as the other
person spoke. Danny looked at his wife concerned and
sensing something was terribly wrong.
"I'll call you back. Ok fine, I gotta go." Danny
said into the phone. Carly's hand trembled and turned
whiter while holding the phone and sniffed trying to
surpass the sadness and agony she was feeling.
"Scott, that'll be fine...I'll be on the next flight
out. We can talk about arrangements then." Carly said.
She dropped the phone and crumbled into her husband's
arms and sobbed. Danny knew without speaking what had
happened. Bobbie's fight with cancer had ended, he
held onto his wife and cried with her trying to ease
her pain.
Llanview
Lucky flipped his phone shut and tears sprang to his
eyes. He walked to the king size bed and swept a stray
hair from her face. Natalie stirred under his touch
and she opened her eyes and saw the immediate sadness.
"Lucky? What is it? What happened?" Natalie asked.
Lucky's eyes turned a deeper sad and he took her hand
in his.
"My Aunt died last night. The funeral is in a few
days." Lucky choked out.
"Oh, my god. Baby I'm so sorry." Natalie said. She
pulled him close into a hug. Lucky held onto his
little spitfire, never wanting to let go.
Port Charles
Penthouse 4
Sonny sat on the couch scotch bottle in hand. Alexis
was upstairs taking a shower. Both of his son's down
the hall in their rooms. Stone came down the stairs
followed by his twin brother Alex. Alexis came down
the stairs and saw Sonny on the couch. She took the
bottle from him.
"Bobbie died last night." Sonny said.
"Oh my god." Alexis gasped covering her mouth. They
were both interrupted from their thoughts when Jason
entered the penthouse.
"I heard about Bobbie. Can we talk?" Jason asked.
Alexis took her cue and entered the kitchen.
"Carmen Santos is sending someone to meet with you
this week. Do you want me to set it up?" Jason asked.
"Yeah, lets just do it after the funeral. Is she
coming home for it?" Sonny asked.
Jason didn't need to ask who Sonny was referring to
he already knew.
"Scott said she'd be here tonight." Jason said.
Sonny nodded and Jason left.
Salem
Skye looked at the pictures of her current family
the Dimera's. They all stared at her haunting her,
teasing her. The phone rang shaking the thoughts from
her head.
"Dimera residence." Skye said into the phone.
"Oh my god of course I'll be there, AJ." Skye said
into the phone. Tony Dimera entered the room and
looked at his wife.
"Everything alright?" Tony asked noticing the
concerned look on her face. Skye hung up the phone.
"No, I have to go back to Port Charles. My
grandmother had a stroke." Skye replied packing her
things.
"Very well. I'll have the plane ready we can leave
in an hour." Tony said kissing his wife's cheek. Skye
faintly smiled at him and her mind drifted off the
Jasper Jacks.
Springfield
Carly took one last look at her bag. She looked at
the black dress that laid on top of her other clothes.
She hugged herself and rubbed her shoulders. Danny
entered the room and touched her shoulders.
"Hey, it's going to be ok." Danny said kissing her
temple.
"It's just that...I don't know." Carly replied
sobbing once again. Danny took her in his arms wiping
away her tears.
"I love you always have ever since that night when I
held you on the beach Caroline. Nothing and no one
will ever come between us again, I promise. I would
walk the ends of the earth to be with you. Today when
we get to Port Charles nothing changes us." Danny said
to her taking her lips with his, she returned his kiss
with full-hearted love. Carly pulled away and looked
into his eyes.
"I'm ready to go now. Oh and have I told you how
much I love you?" Carly said. Danny rested his head
against hers.
"I think I have a good idea." Danny replied. Carly
kissed him and zipped up her bag.
"Michael let's go!" Carly yelled up the stairs.
Michael came down the stairs talking to AJ on the
phone.
"Yeah dad we'll be there in 3 hours. I love you too,
bye." Michael said, he hung up the phone and looked at
Carly.
"Lila had a stoke." Michael said. Carly faintly
smiled at him and then looked at Danny.
"Let's go." Carly said.
Danny looked at his wife and took their bags to the
car. Carly hugged Michael and Danny put his hand on
the small of her back protectively as they got in the
limo. The limo drove to the awaiting private jet to
take them to Port Charles.
Llanview Airport
Lucky paced nervously awaiting the plane to go back
to Port Charles. Natalie grabbed his hands and shook
him.
"Could you please quit pacing? You're going to make
me lose my fucking mind." Natalie said. Lucky was
about to respond when the announcement came on.
"Flight 117 Llanview to Port Charles has just landed
boarding will be in one hour." The announcer said.
"Michael Alan Quartermane you'd better be back here
in half an hour!" Carly yelled. As soon as she yelled
Lucky flipped his head around, yes it was Caroline all
right. She looked the same since she'd left that day
at the airport.
"Carly!" Lucky yelled over the crowd.
Carly flipped around when she heard Lucky's voice.
She spotted him and waved at him through the crowd.
She made her way to him followed by Danny and two
bodyguards. When she reached Lucky she pulled him into
a hug.
"Lucky what are you doing here?" Carly asked. Lucky
laughed.
"Waiting to board the plane." Lucky replied. Lucky
looked at Danny. Danny took Lucky's hand.
"Danny Santos, and you would be?" Danny asked.
"Lucky, Lucky Spencer. How do you know my cousin?"
Lucky replied. He glanced and noticed the wedding set
on Carly's finger matched the ring on Danny's finger.
"I'm Caroline's husband. I'm surprised she hasn't
told you." Danny said eyeing Carly and smiling.
"After she left Port Charles not many people knew
what was going on in her life." Lucky replied. Natalie
finally introduced herself.
"Natalie Buchanan, Lucky's fiancée." Natalie said
showing Carly her left hand.
"Don't sweat it homey, we're cousin's I'm not going
to steal him from you." Carly said noticing Natalie's
glares.
Michael ran to his mother.
"Mom listen I know I'm late but you've got to hear
me out. First there was a huge line at the bathroom
then..." Michael started. Carly held up hr hand and
looked at her watch.
"You're only five minutes late. You remember Lucky
right?" Carly asked. Michael looked at his mother.
"Mom unlike you I haven't isolated myself completely
from everyone in..." Michael began. Danny looked at
his stepson with a look that meant shut up before you
tick your mother off. Michael caught his look.
"Yeah I remember Lucky." Michael said.
"Come on Carly the pilot say's the plane's ready to
go." Danny said. Carly nodded.
"Attention all passengers for flight 117 Llanview to
Port Charles, there has been a delay. The plane should
be ready in about 3 hours." The announcer said. Lucky
began to pace again. Natalie shook her head sometimes
he was so difficult. Carly turned to her cousin.
"Get your bags, you can come with us." Carly said.
Lucky looked at her. Natalie grabbed her bag and stood
up.
"Fuck, Lucky riding with anyone right now has got to
be better than watching you fucking pace." Natalie
said, she grabbed her bags and followed Carly. Lucky
looked at Natalie.
"What have I gotten myself into?" Lucky mumbled
grabbing his bags and following them to the plane. It
was going to be one hell of a plane ride.
