Eden's Garden

New Orleans

Alex was sitting on the white rought iron bench staring into space when Tanya came out side. "Sis. There's a letter for you." She touched her younger sister's shoulder. "Alex, honey you have to snap oput of it. It's been over two weeks." Tanya opened the letter.

Dear Alexandra, 12/15/99

It's been such a long time since we've seen one another. I heared about Dr. Rayne's death. You must be devestated. He was my favorite teacher as well. He wanted me to join The Luna Foundation as you recall. I told him that I wasn't ready for that kind of work. I was so in love with Peter. The bastard left me for a younger woman(an eighteen year old with perky breasts). I recieved a call from Xavier Tomas the new head of London...asked me to join the Luna foundation. I'm precept of Boston House. Alex, I want you to come and visit me in Boston. There's a case which has come up. I need your expertise. Please call or email me. Take care,

Leslie Faye

"Did you hear that Alex? You're friend from college wants you to go to Boston. What do you think about that?" Tayna was at her witts end with her baby sister. She placed the paper on the bench and went inside. Five minutes later, Alex picked it up and read it. 'A case has come up in Boston. I don't know if I'm ready to go back to working on Legacy cases. I need a sign. I haven't been having visions since that night at Rachel's when Nick was in danger.' The African American thought to herself. She rose from the bench and went inside to the kitchen. "That smells good, Tayna. What is it?" She asked as she kissed her sister's cheek. Tayna smiled at Alex.

"Lamb stew. Are you hungry?" She asked hoping to hear Alex say yes.

"I love lamb stew and yes I'm hungry. I think I need to take a bath and get out of these dirty clothes." She left the room and headed to the bathroom where she turned on the water and poured a cap full of jasmine bubble bath. Next Alex got out of her purple jogging suit and then went in the tub. The water was warm and relaxing that she closed her eyes.

Alex, I loved you too. I should have told you that ten years ago. I didn't know how you would have reacted if I told you that I loved you. Then you kissed me. We should have had more time, but that's not how it worked out. Alex, you have been such an asset to our orignization. Please continue working for the Legacy if not for yourself then for me. Sweet Alexandra Morreau. She opened her eyes and got out of the tub. "I'll go to Boston for you Derek. I know that when it's my time, I'll be with you. I hope you didn't suffer terribly my sweet Derek." Alex said to herself as she dried herself with the pink towel. She went to the guest bedroom and called Leslie.

San Francisco

Rachel was sitting on the park bench waiting for Ariana to meet her when her cell phone rang. "Rachel Corrigan"

"Rachel, this is Leslie Faye. I'm the new precept of Boston House and I need your expertise on a case, which has come up. I need you to fly to Boston a.s.a.p."

Rachel ran her fingers through her golden blond hair. "I have to meet with a patient. I'll take the next flight up to Boston." She flipped her cell phone closed. Ariana walked over to where her sister was sitting. "Hi, Rachel. I can't believe you want to see me after what I've done." The young woman twirled a golden brown lock around her finger. She was uncomfortable.

"Ariana, you are my sister. You and I both have the Cantwell curse coursing through our veins. I was able to control my urge to practice the craft. You weren't. I forgive you for what you did. I have to go to Boston for a while. When I come back, I want us to get toghter again, ok?"

"You don't hate me. I had such a hard time at school cause I saw things that other kids didn't see. I started practicing magick when I was 12&1/2. It's nice to have a sister."

"You have the sight. Kat has it too. No, I don't hate you. When I was your age, I made some mistakes like using drugs and drinking beer or any type of liquor I could get my hands on." She stated as she rose from the bench.

"You don't have the sight. I wonder if momma had it or aunt Ruth. I also hated not having a mother or father. I was in so many foster homes...was beatten in several of them." Rachel winched when she heard that.

"I'm so sorry, Ariana. You have family now. I won't let anyone hurt you again." She hugged her sister then pulled away. "I have to go now. I will call you when I get to Boston. You're young and pretty go and have some fun." Rachel walked away and got into her black sedan and drove to the airport and went on the Legacy jet to Boston.

Boston House

'This is going to be so much fun. Alex and Rachel here at the house and Nick in San Francisco where Reed can get his revenge on him.' Mrs. Darkside thought to herself. She morphed into Leslie Faye. The doorbell rang. 'It must be the good Dr. Corrigan.' She thought to herself as she opened the blue and purple stained glass door. "Hello, Dr. Corrigan. I'm Leslie." Leslie/Mrs.Darkside extened her hand. Rachel shook it.

"Nice to meet you Leslie. Please call me Rachel."

"Where are my manners you must be tired from that long flight. I'll have D.J. show you to your room." She walked over to the intercom. "D.J. Please come here." A tall skinny youth came to the entrance way. "Yes, Miss. Faye."

"D.J. I want you to show Dr. uh Rachel Corrigan to the guest quarters."

"This way Miss. Corrigan." He said as he led her down a drab dark hallway to a brown wooden door with a black handle. He hated having to do it again.

"Nice guest quarters. It's a little drab don't ya think?" She stated to him.

"Stop the babbling and go inside." He told her as he opened the door. The hair on the back of her neck stood up.

"What the hell are you doing!" The blond demanded as he pushed her inside.

"Sit down next to your friend." D.J. demanded. Rachel did as she was told, and D.J. put shackles around her thin ankles.

Angel Island

Nick was in the control room scanning an object, which had come from the Middle East when the monitors on the control pannel begun to blink on and off. The alarm went off. "What the hell is going on here!" 'Something doesn't feel right.' He thought to himself as he took his gun from the hollster. He went through the hologram wall and checked in the library. There he saw his intruder. "Well, hello there Mr. Boyle." Reed Horton said as he grabbed Nick's neck.

"I thought you were in hell." The precept said as he kicked Horton in the groin.

"I heard they made you precept after Derek's death. Such a pitty what happened to him." Horton said with such sarcasm. He let go of the young man's neck. Nick aimed the gun and shot at Horton causing him to flicker...green, blue, and purple light surrounded him. "I'll be back, Mr. Boyle. Do you know where the other members of the San Francisco Legacy House are?" Horton laughed as he left the library.

"Rachel was suppossed to call in and she hasn't." He said out loud as he dialed Rachel's cell phone.

"Rachel Corrigan." She answered.

"Rachel how come you didn't call me earlier?" He asked in a concerned tone.

"The new precept of Boston House has locked me and Alex in the dungeon."

"There's no new precept at Boston House. What's this so called new precept's name?" He made his way back to the control room.

"Leslie Faye. She was a friend of Alex's during her college years."

Nick typed that name into the data base, and he saw that Leslie Faye died two weeks ago. "Rach, Leslie is deceased. I think that Horton might have killed her to morph into Leslie like he did to Middelton."

"What makes you think it's Horton?"

"I had a visit with him. I have to find a way to get you out of that dungeon. I don't want you to use up your batteries. I want you to be able to get in touch with me." He flipped closed his phone. Philip entered the control room. "Hi, Nick can I interest you in a cold frosty one?"

"Hey Phil. Rachel and Alex are locked up in Boston House. Horton paid me a visit. I think he's connected to what happened to the ladies."

"Do ya want me to go to Boston?"

"Yes, I do. I want you to take the laptop. I also want you to wear this ring I'll be able to track you." The precept said to the Irishman as he handed him the silver ring.

Boston

"Leslie was my roommate in college and the two of us became fast friends. We both were in Derek's class." She winced at the mention of his name. "He wanted here to join the Legacy, but she was dating Peter Katz. She wanted to marry him and didn't want the long hours and secrecy to ruin the marriage so she didn't join the orginization. When I receieved the letter from her, I was thrilled that she joined the Legacy and that she was precept. Never dreaming it was a setup." Alex said to her friend.

"I fell for it as well. Do you remember anything when you met with Horton during your sabathical?"

"I remember going to a borded up mansion...cobwebs on the panneled walls. Fire in the fireplace, and a woman who wore black...called herself Mrs. Darkside."

"Do you remember what you talked about?" The blond inquired.

The woman was talking about creating a new Legacy...that the rules were unfair. Horton agreed with everything that she said." Alex has a vision of Mrs. Darkside putting ingridents into a big pot and casting a spell and poof Horton appeared. "Rach, I think it's a lady dresed in black, she calls herself Mrs. Darkside, who keeps bring Horton back from hell."

Rachel took out her cell phone from her blazer and dialed Nick's number. "Nick Boyle."

"Nick, I have some info on how Reed Horton keeps coming back from hell. Have you ever heard of some one called Mrs. Darkside?"

"No, I haven't. Do you think she helps Reed?" Nick started typing the info. "Rach, there's no one by that name. Does she even exists?"

"Alex had a vision of a woman in black putting things into a big pot saying things and Horton appears. Why don't you see if she was ever mentioned in Horton's journal." Rachel suggested to her boss.

Nick typed away and he started reading some of Reed's entries. "He mentioned several meetings with a mysterious woman wearing black. He was very jealous of Derek...wanted to be precept when Middelton retired. He also wrote that this lady could help him always have inmortality if he killed Legacy members for her. The first murder was two weeks after her agreed to work for her and turned to the darkside." He told Rachel.

"Is she even a woman or a demon? How do we stop her, Nick?"

"I dunno. She could be a witch. I'll check the wiccan database. No mention of a Mrs. Darkside. Time to check the demon one. Yup, it's a demon we are dealing with. This demon has been around since the time of Christ. It feeds on one's need to be in a powerful postion and jealousy. This woman in black appears to that person and offers them the power, which they are seeking if they kill for her. Also promises them imnmortality if they do her biding."

"How do we stop her. Are Alex, myself and you in danger of being killed by her?" Rachel asked. Her cell phone went dead. The lights in the control room went dead. "What the hell?! Nick shouted.

"That's where you are going Mr. Boyle." Horton sneered as he grabed the precept's neck for the second time. "I could just squeeze the life out of your neck but that wouldn't be too much fun." He let go of Nick's neck. He took out of his pants belt a sword and said, "Let's duel. If I win you come to hell and see Major Boyle there. If you win, I go back to hell." Nick took out his gun from his pocket and shot Horton. "How many times do I have to shoot you?" Reed flickered again.

BostonPhilip got off the plane and headed for the Boston Legacy House when his cell phone rang. "Father Callhan." He answered.

"Phil, it's a demon we are dealing with. do you have any Holy Water on you?" The precept asked not too sure on how to deal with the situation. He stilled wished that Derek was alive and was precept.

"Yes, I have it on me. what kind of demon are we dealing with?"

"She has been around since Christ...is getting weak and needs to feed on people in order to have the body of a person. It goes by the name of Mrs. Darkside. Alex and Rachel are in danger." He informed his friend and collegue.

"Is there anything else you can tell me about this thing? Does this demon have a name?" The Priest asking because it seemed a little familar to him. He ran his fingers through his hair in a nervous fashion.

Nick looked for more info on the demon. "It's called darkdividous. It feeds on the darkest part of you for you to do its bidding. Horton was a good one for that. I don't know if Rachel has a dark part, but Alex does. she still has vampire in her blood, and this creature can feed on it since she's devestated by Derek's death."

"I've heard of that demon. Holy water isn't going to help. Alex is going to have to find a way to find the light part of her soul.

Boston House-The Dungeon

Alex was twisting and turning in pain. "Rachel what's going on with me." The African American said through clenched teeth. Beads of sweat was forming on her forehead. Rachel was perplexed by what was going on. She had examined Alex and found nothing wrong with her. The door opened and Mrs. Darkside entered the room and walked over to where Alex was.

"Are you ready to do my bidding? It'll stop your pain. You want that you dear don't you?" Alex shook her head.

"Alex, you are a good person. Fight this." Rachel said to her friend.

"I can't. It hurts so much. I want it to go away, and if that means selling my soul."

"What about Derek? Do you think that he would want you to do that?" Tears ran down the younger woman's face.

"I miss him so much, Rach. It hurts so much, and I'm so angry that he's gone." Rachel wiped the tears from Alex's face.

"I know that you miss him. But giving your soul to this thing you won't see him in Eden's Garden. I wanted to let the demons who portrayed themselves as Patrick and Conner stay there. I thought that my family was back together again, but it wasn't. What made me say good by was the fact that I'd see them again in Eden's Garden." Alex was twisting and tears were running down her face from the pain. she closed her eyes and saw Derek's face. She felt his presence in the room and she felt him touch her. "I'll see you in Eden's Garden. My love." The pain was gone and so was Mrs. Darkside.

I dedicate this story to Parisian, who lost her sister. You will see her again in Eden's Garden. I do believe that. Precept Nancy
