The cartoon show Invader ZIM first premered on Nickelodon on March 30, 2001 as its first science-fiction series, and was canceled January 17, less than one year later. Invader ZIM is the brain child of the comic book artist Jhonen Vasquez, who brought the show to life with such characters as Zim, Gir, Dib, Gaz, as well a variety of others.
If you're watching Invader ZIM for the first time, don't expect a little green alien floating around in a U.F.O. and shooting lasers all day while people run around screaming to some cheesy space music. This is just not Zim. Invader ZIM is full of satire, witty dialogue, and twisted humor... very twisted humor. (Scenes you can look forward to watching include Zim eating the organs of all the kids in his "skool", a child's eyeballs being replaced with mechanical eyes all while he's screaming in pain, and a Gir barfing down Zim's shirt. Fun, huh?)
This show has a wonderful storyline of the invasion of the universe, planet by planet, and the fight on Earth between an alien of this planet-conquring race and the only kid who really knows what's going on. It also has the best animation and music I've ever heard and seen. The animation of the characters and scenery have a close resemblance to Jhonen's earlier works such as JtHM and SQUEE! The music, however, is by Kevin Manthei, who normally works on the music for video games.
Invader ZIM has been my favorite show ever since I first watched it. If you can see in Zim what I first saw in it, hopefully you'll like it too.

Enjoys: taquitos, pigs, the Scary Monkey Show, tacos, moose, watching movies over and over (and over), burritos, t.v., when Zim pays attention to him
Dislikes: when something ruins his beautiful day
Other: insane, if not allowed to watch a movie for the 12th time will throw a tantrum then fall fast asleep seconds later
Dib
Description: child paranormal investigator
Planet: Earth
Age: elevenish
Enjoys: seeking out bigfoot, ghosts, and other strange oddities, spying on Zim to prove he's an alien
Dislikes: Zim, alien invaders, when kids call him crazy, when people say his head is big
Other: heir to the Membrane empire, his dad never has enough time for him or his terrifying sister, his spooky and mean teacher hates him
Gaz
Description: Dib's younger sister
Planet: Earth
Age: one year younger than Dib
Enjoys: video games, pizza, drawing, tourturing Dib
Dislikes: when Dib bugs her, when Iggans took the last Game Slave II, when the last peice of pizza falls to the ground
Other: plays games such as Vampire Piggies and Game Slave, enjoys eating at Bloaty's Pizza Hog
