John O. Odom

John Ollen Odom was born 9 Dec 1830 in TN. He married Eliza Pryor on the 20 Dec 1854. They had 3 children. He came to Hopkins Co. TX around 1850 with his family, this family came from the Hardin/McNary Co. area of TN. He enlisted in the 18th Texas Infantry, Company E, at Bright Star (Sulpher Springs), Texas April 1, 1862 and was a Teamster. KIA at the Battle of Bayou Bourbeux
