FRANCIS MARION KOLB

Before he married Mary Lee, he had married a L. Spurrier. they had one child and the mother died either when Sarah was born or soon after, because Francis carried Sarah from Gonzales Co., Texas to Anderson County, Texas to her grandmother Douthit on horse back with her in his shirt.
Wounded in the war by the same bullet that killed his brother, William Harmon Kolb.
When Francis got his first car, he didn't know how to drive. So he thought it would be safe to learn how at home driving around a hill. After he got the hang of it he decided he had enough for the day. He headed to the barn to park the car, and the car didn't stop, he went through the barn and grand daddy hollers "WHOA" just before hitting the house.
