1st Lt. Archibald Newton Henderson

Archibald Newton Henderson b. 16 Feb 1824, d. 3 Apr 1914, moved to Hopkins County in 1858 with his in-laws John and Mary Hooker. He served in the 18th Texas Infantry, Company E, CSA, from 1862 to 1865. Archibald N. Henderson is buried at the Odd Fellow Cemetery in Hopkins County, Texas

On the pension application for Mrs. Wiley Moss he states:

My name is A. N. Henderson; my place of residence is Sulpher Springs, Texas; my age is 81 years. I personally knew W.A. Moss during his lifetime. I personally know that he enlisted in the Confederate Service and performed the duties of a soldier. I was in the same Company and Regiment with him. He was in Company E, 18th Texas Infantry. He enlisted in the spring of 1862, and served until the end of the war in 1865. He never deserted the Confederacy. I know that Mrw. F.R. Moss, applicant herein for a Confederate Pension is the widow of the said W. A. Moss Subscribed and sworn to before me this 3rd day of November, 1904.
