Obediah B.D. Childress

Childress,Obediah B.D. was born in Georgia on 17 Oct 1829 or 1831. He died 27 Mar 1909 in Floyd County,Texas and is buried in Lockney, Texas. He enlisted in the Mexican War in Pensacola, Fla. on 9 Apr 1847. He belonged to Cap. Kelly's Company, Fla. Volunteers.
He enlisted in Capt. Joseph G.W. Wood's Co., Ochiltrees's Regiment,Texas Volunteers, Company F, 18th Texas Infantry at Camp Sidney Johnson, Marion County,Texas on 25 Apr 1862 giving his age as 29. He enlisted for 3 years and was still in 25 Feb, 1864
He lived in Titus County, Texas in 1860 and came to Floyd County, Texas in 1895. He raised 7 children .His 2nd. wife was Cynthia Ann Lindsey He is the great-grandfather of Patsy Morris, San Marcos, Texas.
