Our home situated at the end of a tree lined drive has a real country feel, boasting landscaped grounds that extend right down to Lough Owel's shore - ideal for an after-dinner stroll on a fine evening. The house is endowed with the charm of more elegant times, accentuated by a richness of antiques and traditional decor - including, in the dining room a rich array of oak furniture. In the adjoining lounge the emphasis is on comfort, and in the sun room visitors may revel in the tranquility of the garden vista as they sip afternoon tea.The bedrooms, two of which have four-poster beds, are as individually named as they are in character.
At Lough Owel Lodge, home-cooking with fresh farm produce is a speciality.
Facilities include a tennis court, sun patio and for children on damp days, a games room. Dogs are welcome, but are not allowed inside the house.

Guests can enjoy leisurely strolls on the 50 acre farm, communing with the sheep, the cattle and indeed with Nature itself.
For those who wish to explore the area there's plenty to see; medieval Fore Abbey and it's ancillary buildings; the lovely garderns of Tullynally Castle, Ballinlough Castle and Belvedere House; the Abbey church at Multyfarnham with it's outdoor Way of the Cross; Mullaghmeen forest, the largest beech forest in Europe, and not forgetting the many other lakes in this, the lake district of Ireland, including Loughs Ennel and Lane, the only two Blue Flag lakes in Ireland.
Ours is a region free of commercial trappings, being blessed with an inspiring blend of rolling hills, sequestered woods, sparkling lakes, green meadows and pastureland, and bogs filled with wild flowers, giving myriad views that change with the seasons.

An ideal base from which to tour the surrounding areas.
