Hello and welcome to my web site. I have been dabbling in genealogy since high school when my Aunt showed me a book that she received on our Willson ancestry. Of course at that time I was far too busy finishing school, getting married, and having a family . Well, the youngest has his own family now, so I guess that I have the time. I am attempting to be of some help to others trying to find their families and have included what I hope are some helpful and useful links. On this site you will find a link to the Index of surnames that are in the Willson Book that first called my attention to genealogy and a link to my Great-grandmother's scrapbook of newspaper articles that contain the surnames of many Antrim County, Michigan families, although I highly recommend using the search engine provided above to more quickly find the names that you are looking for. Good luck and let me know if I can be of any help to you. And, please sign my guestbook.

Grace Blanch Smith married A. Roy Rushton in 1904 and shortly thereafter she started clipping newspaper articles that she pasted into a hardbound jewelers catalog. Most of these articles were from THE TORCH, a local newspaper for Central Lake, Antrim County, Michigan. There is a wealth of information contained in these articles, including birth & wedding announcements and obituaries. This scrapbook contains a wealth of information for anybody researching Antrim County, Michigan. Grace Smith Rushton is my Great-grandmother. Her scrapbook was passed down to my Grandmother, Corene Rushton Johnson Empey and after her death was passed on to my Aunts: Esther Johnson Dewey Novotney of Eastport, Michigan and Ardith Johnson Spoelman of Muskegon, Michigan.
written by my cousin Nancy L. Slabosz about our Grandmother, Corene Pauline Rushton who married Duane Porter Johnson and 10 years after his death married Percy Empey.
This version of the book was not intended for public distribution, but rather sent to members of the family allowing them to know what research has been done and what research remains to be done.
