Dj: We got a special guest comming by. Everbody give it up for the Backstreet boys
main man, is Howie!
H: Hey what's up?!?
Dj: We miss ya man!
H: Thanks man I miss miami too!
Dj: You know your all over tv. You guys are singing at the NHL All start hockey
game.
H: Yeah, it went really good.
Dj: You guys get nervous doing gigs like that?
H: Yeah, a bit like I say...especially being in front of you know...not only is it live
on national telvision, their's no retakes or anything. We most alot of the celebrity
Hockey players or Football players...whatever the occasion may be.
Dj: If you blow it, you'll like a Dope!
H: Yeah, we'll looky pretty dorky.
Dj: You guys never mess up, do ya?
H: ah, well we've been very fortunate here on these alot of these National
Television stuff...we haven't really blown it YET...KNOCK ON WOOD. But
their's been some earlier times back in the days when we first starting. We had a
couple times where we hit the National anthem in a different key than it was
suppose to be so...
Dj: REALLY?!?
H: Yeah (laughs) One time...Brian, did a at a UCF football, I mean Basketball
game. He overheard a trumpet, playing a note..and it kinda registered in his
head...and he decided on doing the National Anthem in that key...and it was just a
little bit high for the rest of us.
Dj: OH NO!
H: (laughs)
Dj: That's comedy though! You guys laugh it off. Nobody cares!
H: Yeah, exactly!
Dj: Nobody cares...when are you guys comming down here?
H: Ah, actually were going to be down their for the Basketball Chairy game, were
doing with Magic Johnson, Boyz 2 Men, Usher...
Dj: That's Thursday
H: um huh... and then were going to possibly try to stick around and catch the
SUPER BOWL!
Dj: Oh yeah POSSIBLY!
H: (laughs)
Dj: Like you guys aren't going to have tixs to that gig!
H: Well were trying ya know. Were still trying to see if we can scrap up a couple
change here n their!
Dj: Yeah I'm sure you can dig up some tickets...Hey you guys actually going to play
basketball in that game you going to play some hoop?
H: Well..I know Kevin, Brian and Nicky are going to play for sure. Me and Aj, are
kinda still uhh kinda deciding cause basketball not exactly my Fortay.
Dj: What's your favorite sport?
H: Ah, actually I do alot of water sports. Like water skiing and knee skiing and
some raquet ball but uh...on a physical sport never was really was a big man at it.
Dj: We gotta get ya a fast boat and you'll be all set.
H: Right, actually I need to practice a little bit with Magic, ahead of time see if he
can show me a couple pointers.
Dj: See, only YOU could work that out!
H: (Laughs)
Dj: Only YOU, can get personally lessons from Magic Johnson.
H: Right! (laughs)
Dj: You guys are going to have a great time down here..I mean this whole lead up to
the Super Bowl, is half the fun. With the parties and we got the NFL Expirience
going on at Pro Player Stadium. Can you go to that stuff, or do people mob ya
everywhere you go?
H: Yeah, we pretty much..we try to get around as much as everthing as we can.
Every once in awhile we take a security guard here n their. But like I say, every
once and awhile I just go by myself you know with a date or a friend or with a
family member. Just...ya know...kinda like low profile and just enjoy yourself.
Dj: WITH A DATE!
H: Yeah, every once in awhile.
Dj: DO WE HAVE A MAIN SQUEEZE TALK TO ME!
H: uh...not anything serious yet. Like I say, I just kinda still dating scene. It is very
hard with our liestyle...try to find a women who can put up with my schedule.
Dj: Can you sneak out once in awhile...throw on a pair of shades and sneak around
with anybody bothering ya?
H: Yeah! I mean...like once in awhile I put a cap on and just put on some sunglasses
on...like I say..I hardly rarely wear any hats...so people don't really expect me to
where a cap. I can pretty much walk around. Like I say, I hardly even do that you
know. If people constantly asking for autographs I mean I'm really cool about this
stuff. It's very flattering to me. You know to be asked.
Dj: Yeah, that's what everbody says all about all you guys.
H: Aww, well like I say..we come from good famiy's were very humble guys. We
appreciate all the support of everbody around us.
Dj: What do you guys got commin up?
H: Actually, were finishing up the album here. Getting ready to do some promotion
for it. And do some album cover pictures and videos for them. and....
Dj: WHAT'S THE ALBUM GOING TO BE CALLED?
H: Were not exaclty sure..were flipping around with a couple different titles
umm...were really kinda leaning toards this Millenium kind of a theme here so..
Dj: Who comes up with that...is that your ideas...do guys sit down and come up
with ideas..or does somebody set it your way...how does that work?
H: Yeah, we kinda like we pretty much talk about it and throw the idea's to the
company and kinda collaborate all together.
Dj: You guys getting along well together?
H: Yeah! were like brothers, were like brothers.
Dj: That's what I here!
H: Yeah! well it's real..I mean even we've been together over 6 years. Alot of
people don't know that but like I say...we've seen eachother grow man. We've
known nick since he was 12 years old...and now he's ya know 18 going on 19 here
in a couple of days.
Dj: You guys are on fire you really are!
H: Well thank you thank you we appreciate it! Through all the support of you guys
and everbody out their...keeping us going!
Dj: Were going to be looking forward to seeing you guys on Thursday night. That's
a real cool chance for people to get real close to you guys you know and see what
your like when your not performing and just hanging out.
H: Yeah Definetly, like I say they'll get a change to probably see me try to Dribble
a ball (Laughs) and make a fool out of myself a little bit on the court their.
Dj: We love you either way don't worry it about a thing. Thursday night in the
Miami Arena from 4-6pm tickets at ticketmaster and we've been giving away some
and everbody has been driving us crazy about this thing.
H: Cool!!
Dj: So it should be a big event. It's for a great cause too...you guys are always
involved with charity stuff I love that about you!
H: Yeah, actually alot of these procedes are going to our personal charities. I set up a
charity for my sister who recently passes away here for Lupus foundation. Brian,
set up a charity for the Heart foundation since he underwent Heart surgery. Kevin's
father passes away to Cancer so we set up a charity for that. All the other member's
if they have charities you know were invited those charities to be involved and I
mean you have to give back to everybody for what they gave to us.
Dj: Yeah, that's nice to hear....just don't let Boyz 2 men humiliate you on the court!
H: Ah, I'll try not to...that's why I probably won't be playing too much! (Laughs)
