Darkness Falls
Another day passes
the emptiness echos in my heart
and empty arms ache and fall to my side
in resignation
of the knowledge that time will not
stand still
for my beating heart to cease
and release me from another day
lost without you
And so as night falls so do I
into a darkness so consuming
I cannot see the false images of hope
that paraded before my eyes
when I could dream of you
and build false illusions
for my ignorant heart to grasp for
and in the darkness I am consumed
